The first day of battle, after fighting our way through, we barely managed to clinch the last few spots on the recommended list, one slip away from dropping off entirely. Tomorrow will feature four updates!!!

I desperately need recommendation votes to surge into the central positions!!! …… Ye Chen narrowed his eyes, glancing up toward the distance where dark clouds hung low, shrouding a massive building.

Beneath that oppressive canopy, it seemed a fierce confrontation was unfolding. He crouched, pressing his ear to the ground, listening intently.

His expression grew grave. After a moment of profound thought, he decided he had to go.

Although there were still 12 hours before he could activate Superman Mode again, forcing him to rely solely on his own combat skills until then, from the sound of the beast’s roar, he vaguely recognized the type of monster it was! "If I could acquire its body, that would be incredible!" Ye Chen murmured internally.

As for the corpse of the Purple Extreme Demonic Bull... Although the Black Snail Insect could control dead bodies, it could only do so once.

This meant that the moment it emerged from a creature’s skull, control was permanently lost. This was because severing many neural connections was necessary to exit the cranium.

Consequently, the Purple Extreme Demonic Bull’s corpse was now beyond control. Whoosh!

Ye Chen moved like the wind, traversing the building rapidly. Occasionally encountering mutated ants or rats, he gave them a wide berth.

Ever since fusing with the ant genes, his senses had become sharper, allowing him to catch faint scents in the air, using these aromas to discern nearby monsters. Not long after, he reached the top floor—the eighteenth story—of a high-rise.

He had slain numerous zombies along the way, and his soft leather armor was now heavily stained with dark blood. He lay prone in a corner of the building, exposing only one eye as he peered down.

On the expansive street below stood a monster nearly ten feet tall, resting on all fours, its claws razor-sharp. Its entire body shimmered silver-white, its eyes blood-red, and its fangs ferocious, resembling a starving wolf.

The only truly astonishing feature was the three silver tails lashing out behind it, smashing any approaching zombies into pieces! "Three-Tailed Silver Hound!" A flicker of excitement crossed Ye Chen's eyes.

The Three-Tailed Silver Hound belonged to an exceptionally high-tier monstrous species. In the later stages of the apocalypse, it was considered peak among the canine races.

Currently, most canine monsters possessed strength equivalent to 60 to 80 men. For instance, the Magic Wind Hound had been at 40 men's strength in the first month, escalating to 80 men's strength by the second.

If it had consumed the corpse of a stronger monster, perhaps like the Black Snail Insect, it might have been even more powerful. Yet, the Three-Tailed Silver Hound before him possessed the strength of 120 men!

Stronger than the Purple Extreme Demonic Bull! "Roar!

Roar!" Zombies poured out of surrounding buildings, swarming toward the Three-Tailed Silver Hound, howling as they charged. Among them were one or two Zombie Hounds, also baying as they leaped forward.

"Aaaargh!!" The Three-Tailed Silver Hound issued an enraged bellow, its movement an immediate collision that sent a large group of zombies flying. But the surrounding horde was immense, numbering perhaps several hundred, including four or five Zombie Hounds, each possessing the strength of 60 to 80 men, constantly pinning the Silver Hound down and preventing its escape.

"If this continues, the Three-Tailed Silver Hound might perish," Ye Chen frowned. Though incredibly strong, even heroes succumb to superior numbers.

Facing so many zombies and Zombie Hounds, it was destined for a tragic end on the battlefield. Thoughts raced through Ye Chen's mind as he contemplated a rescue strategy.

At that moment, the Three-Tailed Silver Hound was completely enveloped by the zombie siege. It lunged left and right; one swipe of its paw tore several zombies apart, yet the halves of their bodies still struggled, crawling forward to bite at its legs.

The Silver Hound moved like the wind, tearing through the mob. Many zombies clung to its tails, impeding its speed.

The fangs of the five Zombie Hounds were equally sharp; their bodies were bare of fur, bloody, and terrifying to behold as they lunged repeatedly. "Aaaargh!!" The Three-Tailed Silver Hound roared in fury, striking a Zombie Hound with its paw, instantly shredding its entire body.

Intestines and organs scattered across the ground. Just then, its back was ambushed by another Zombie Hound, which raked several bloody gashes across its flank.

Ye Chen sighed inwardly. In a one-on-one confrontation, the Three-Tailed Silver Hound was an exceedingly powerful monster, but bogged down in a group fight, it was inferior to the 100-men strength of the Purple Extreme Demonic Bull.

With the Bull's outrageous defense and massive bulk, a single charge could instantly obliterate a large swath of zombies, and its body was like an impenetrable fortress; the mere 6-men strength zombies couldn't even scratch it. The Silver Hound's strengths lay in its agility, swiftness, and piercing attack power!

However, any 100-men strength monster could smash a zombie flat with one paw strike, rendering the Silver Hound's potent offense useless against this tide. After fighting fiercely for a long time, the Three-Tailed Silver Hound’s stamina began to wane.

The circle of zombies gradually tightened. On the ground lay hundreds of zombie corpses, and three of the Zombie Hounds had been torn in half.

The Three-Tailed Silver Hound was now covered in dark blood; its once silver-white, sleek fur was filthy and reeking foully. Moreover, it bore bite marks and claw wounds on its legs, back, and lower abdomen.

"Time to act," Ye Chen murmured, turning away from the window. He descended the stairs and emerged onto the floor facing the street—this building appeared to be an office complex, filled with desks everywhere.

Ye Chen grabbed a chair and smashed the window open. Then, he began tossing heavy objects from the office—chairs, computers, and the like—downward.

Falling from such a height, these items were certain to instantly kill ordinary zombies! Ye Chen wasn't worried about hitting the Silver Hound; a creature of its constitution possessed senses far sharper than a zombie's, allowing it to evade danger easily.

After clearing one floor, Ye Chen moved to the next, continuing to hurl everything indiscriminately below. Since the building was some distance from the street where the zombies were fighting, he had to adjust his trajectory when throwing items.

With the arm strength of an ordinary person, it was impossible to swing one's arms forcefully enough to throw objects effectively through such a small window opening. This method of culling zombies was only viable for someone physically enhanced like Ye Chen.

The zombies and the Three-Tailed Silver Hound battling on the street suddenly sensed the wind whistling from above. A dazed zombie looked up blankly.

CRASH! A computer monitor plummeted down, striking it and crushing its skull before it hit the pavement.

Bang bang bang... It was as if a signal had been given.

Then, the sounds of impact echoed incessantly as assorted computers and chairs rained from the sky. Given the pitiful brain matter of these zombies, they could never have conceived that objects would fall from above...

For a time, the zombies scrambled frantically among the falling debris, dodging computers and chairs like they were dancing, darting east and west. The Three-Tailed Silver Hound seized the opportunity, quickly pouncing forward, striking one zombie per paw, killing furiously, its eyes burning with rage and hatred.

12th Floor. Ye Chen tossed a computer tower down.

He glanced at the scene below: thirty or forty zombies had already fallen, many of them killed by the Silver Hound. Only four or five scattered zombies remained, posing no real threat.

Two Zombie Hounds were left, both bearing visible injuries. Ye Chen paused, calculating.

With his current physique, he could handle at most one injured Zombie Hound, considering each one still held 60 men's worth of power. Ye Chen stopped throwing things down.

The remaining zombies and the Three-Tailed Silver Hound, noticing the aerial assault had ceased, turned their attention back to each other, snarling before resuming their savage fight. Zombies possess an intense craving for fresh blood, so they would attack any presence, no matter how formidable.

This held true in the early stages. Only months later would the zombies gradually develop rudimentary intelligence, at which point they would truly be termed Dark Creatures.

Ye Chen stood at the window, watching silently. Not long after, the remaining zombies fell beneath the paws of the Three-Tailed Silver Hound.

The last two Zombie Hounds, facing its relentless offensive, were forced into retreat and were eventually dispatched. After finishing off the Zombie Hounds, the Three-Tailed Silver Hound was panting heavily from exhaustion.

Just then, a sharp whistling sound sliced through the air, rushing toward its blind spot from behind. Startled, it spun around frantically.

A dark-clad youth burst from a nearby building, his eyes cold, wielding a fire axe in hand, charging rapidly. "Aaaargh!!" The Three-Tailed Silver Hound sensed the killing intent and roared in defiance.

"Die!" The fire axe in Ye Chen's hand cleaved downward. Ten afterimages overlapped onto the blade, instantly multiplying its power fivefold—equivalent to a full-force strike of 150 men!

Thwack! A bloody groove was cleaved across the Three-Tailed Silver Hound's chest; blood bloomed, and several bones shattered.

Ye Chen's arm trembled from the impact, forcing him to switch the axe to his other hand. He spun his body, twisting to slash at the Silver Hound's neck.

Thud! The powerful monster, possessing the strength of a hundred men, collapsed.

Ye Chen himself was knocked backward several somersaults by the force of its final lunge, shocked that even exhausted, the Three-Tailed Silver Hound retained such ferocious power! "Finally dealt with." Ye Chen brushed the dust from his clothes and stood up.

He produced the Black Snail Insect, which leaped from his hand and landed on the Three-Tailed Silver Hound's body. After sniffing around, it reported, "Its body is too powerful; I cannot control it." Ye Chen flipped his palm, revealing a vial of refined Gene Serum.

"Don't worry. You only need to boost your strength by the equivalent of two more men."
