Old Liu also leaped onto the opposite cliff face. He turned back and leaped toward Ye Xiu's direction, initially intending to throw the Demon-Breaking Sword to wound the man-eating flower. However, he suddenly felt a sharp pain in his arm. It turned out a plump worm had appeared on the vine he was gripping. This worm had no eyes, and its mouth had already swallowed his fist, sucking away relentlessly: "What kind of freak is this!"

"Aargh!" Ye Xiu sensed the presence of the Electric Soul within him, which he used to paralyze the man-eating flower's attack with an electric shock. He leaped onto the cliff, but the cliff was slick, forcing him to plunge the Sky-Gazing Sword into the rock to gain purchase. "Old Liu, are you alright over there?"

"Chirp chirp…" Old Liu raised his Thin-Faced Blade and plunged it directly into the worm's body. Instantly, its soup-like intestines sprayed all over his face. "It’s no big deal, just disgusting. Damn bugs! This canyon must be the domain of the Corpse Demons; it's full of mutated monsters."

Ye Xiu looked down at the man-eating flowers below. They seemed to be covered in a thick layer of armor. He cautiously attacked one with Black Flame, but the flame was stubbornly repelled. He then looked up at the cliff face and saw countless fat worms writhing towards him. The sight sent a chill down his spine. "The sea of man-eating flowers is still quite a distance away; we need to go up."

"Up? You mean killing these disgusting bugs?" Old Liu climbed upward along the vine, slicing another bug, but when it burst, it ejected countless even smaller worms. He shook his body slightly. "These little bugs sting quite sharply."

"Rumble…" Ye Xiu used Black Flame to roast the worms around him until they were cooked through. The dead worms tumbled down into the patch of man-eating flowers—a mercy for them. "Keep climbing, keep climbing! Let's see if the top of the canyon is safer."

Seeing that the section of the cliff wall near him was cleared, Old Liu dropped the Demon-Breaking Sword and leaped up again, preparing to fly across with his sword. Several more man-eating flowers leaped up from below. His attacks with the Thin-Faced Blade couldn't penetrate their hard shells. Fortunately, Ye Xiu used the Electric Soul just in time to stun the man-eating flowers' movements. "Thanks. I didn't expect the things from the Withered Bone Carriage to be so useful."

"Go up!" Ye Xiu glanced at Old Liu beside him. Since the vines on the cliff face had been burned away by the Black Flame, he could only use the Sky-Gazing Sword and the Electric Soul to cling to the wall. Just then, Old Liu flew over with his sword, leaving Ye Xiu with enough energy saved. "Let's see if we can reach the summit!"

Old Liu nodded and pulled Ye Xiu up in a single bound. The two flew upward close to the cliff face. The Demon-Breaking Sword cleared the way; no hard-shelled bees or fat worms could stop them. However, just as they felt they were about to clear the top of the valley, they saw a colossal pillar spanning the canyon high above: "What is that dark thing up there?"

Ye Xiu looked at it with little optimism. He turned to look further ahead and realized that the colossal pillar was not alone. "It looks like some enormous thing blocking out the sky. No wonder it's so dark inside the canyon."

Old Liu hovered on his sword not far from the pillar. The air above was indeed much better than inside the canyon, with no monsters obstructing them. But the more he looked at the pillar, the more he felt something was wrong. "Don't you think this thing looks like a leg!"

"A leg!" Ye Xiu leaned forward, examining it closely. That pillar not only looked like a leg, but it distinctly was a leg, and long, bristly hair kept rising and falling on it. The lush appearance startled them. "This thing… couldn't it be…"

"A spider! Ah!" Old Liu looked up and finally saw dozens of pearl-like eyes staring down at him directly above his head. Its massive abdomen, almost large enough to obscure the blue sky, extended down between two pillars spanning the canyon. This creature was nearly as large as the long, narrow canyon itself. "What a huge spider! Did you see its eyes?"

Ye Xiu shivered involuntarily. He held his breath and observed the monster above. It was indeed a pitch-black spider. Its eight legs spanned the entire canyon, and its head was so large that looking up from below made it impossible to see its full form. "Old Liu, don't startle it. Let's go back down!"

"Go down, and let those man-eating flowers, bees, and worms attack us!" Old Liu objected slightly; the bite from the worm was still stinging his hand. "I say we charge past the edge of this spider's leg. It’s so big, it probably isn't very agile."

"Thwump…" As the two were speaking, a muffled sound came from the spider's abdomen, and a huge net of webbing shot towards them, covering everything.

"Go!" Ye Xiu stepped onto the Demon-Breaking Sword and pushed Old Liu, striking the large web with Black Flame to incinerate it.

Old Liu didn't dare look back. He navigated the Demon-Breaking Sword through the air, plunging from the mountaintop into the canyon. However, this action clearly enraged the giant spider. It merely lifted one long leg slightly, and massive boulders began to roll down the canyon walls. "Hold tight, it's coming!"

The Demon-Breaking Sword maneuvered over the rolling stones, which seemed to attract the attention of the frantic bees. They swarmed forward, once again targeting Ye Xiu and Old Liu.

"Swish, swish!" The giant spider's massive web continued to pursue them from above the canyon, and the giant spider's footsteps quickened as the pair moved forward. With attacks converging from all sides, the situation rapidly became critical.

"Fleeing like this is useless." Ye Xiu assessed the situation clearly. He drew the Sky-Gazing Sword and augmented it with the Electric Soul. The Demon-Breaking Sword glowed with a red light laced with lightning, exuding an aura of great power. "Lure the bees toward the spider; I have a way to deal with them."

"Understood!" Old Liu trusted Ye Xiu completely. He immediately turned the Demon-Breaking Sword and charged towards the giant spider's abdomen. This move drew the swarm of bees flying after them. "You plan to use the spider's giant web to deal with them? But those things are agile!"

Ye Xiu certainly understood this. The spider web constantly lashed out at them. Old Liu could manage to evade it by rolling up and down, and the bees behind him could suddenly stop or dash to avoid danger. At this moment, effectively using the giant spider's web required the Electric Soul. Just then, a huge web dropped down from the sky, and the bees behind them were pressed close together.

"Did you find an opening?"

"Now is the time!" Suddenly, Ye Xiu sprang back and jumped off the Demon-Breaking Sword, spinning his body to direct a strike toward the swarm of bees behind him. Although this sword strike couldn't pierce the bees' hard shells, the lightning on the sword was enough to paralyze them. "Old Liu, catch me!"

"That's a certainty." Old Liu wheeled his sword around, dodging the web's ambush, and snatched Ye Xiu's hand, darting out of the bee swarm. The bees, paralyzed in mid-air, were caught in the giant web, about to become the giant spider's appetizer.

Ye Xiu landed back on the Demon-Breaking Sword and finally breathed a sigh of relief. The two were nearing the end of the canyon. He looked up again; the giant spider was clearly dissatisfied with its prey. It moved all eight of its toes, running across the canyon floor. It seemed that creature wouldn't stop until it ate them. "Old Liu, can we reach its head? I want to see if this thing is truly indestructible."

"What!" Old Liu flew rapidly, almost unable to believe Ye Xiu's intention. "You want to go up and kill the giant spider? Look at your sword; it’s not even as thick as one of its leg hairs."

"Thump, thump, thump!" The giant spider's long legs constantly struck the top of the canyon. At that moment, surrounding boulders sank into the canyon, smashing the man-eating flowers—which were armed like bronze walls—into dust. Worm juice was visible everywhere, creating a scene of utter devastation.

Though Old Liu didn't fully grasp Ye Xiu's plan, he knew if they didn't eliminate the giant spider, he would eventually be shaken off by that massive leg and fall into the valley floor, resulting in being pulverized by the boulders. "I'm ready, I'm going up!"

A long dragon shot upwards like the sky. The Demon-Breaking Sword, encased in the aura of the Icy Dragon Qi, pierced vertically toward the giant spider. Looking down from the spider, Ye Xiu realized this thing was so large it could almost be called a continent. "Get close to its eye, I'm going up! But you have to keep drawing its attacks from above, understand?"

"Got it!" The understanding between Old Liu and Ye Xiu was unspoken. He flew his sword, dodging a massive sheet of webbing. As he skimmed past the spider's head, he flipped and struck the spider's numerous eyes with the Icy Dragon Qi. "It's up to you now!"

"Whoosh…" Ye Xiu turned and leaped down, landing on the spider's head. However, the wind around it was too strong, making it hard for him to stand steady, so he plunged the Sky-Gazing Sword deep into one of the spider's eyeballs to stabilize himself. "This thing is huge; even a single eyeball is several times my size!"

"Roar—boom…" The giant spider was clearly stunned by the pain of this strike. One of its legs, which had been steady, seemed to slip because of the injured eye, causing it to fall into the canyon. Instantly, more than half of the canyon collapsed.

Old Liu, high above in the heavens, watched the spectacular scene and couldn't help but clap. Suddenly, several white silk threads shot out from the spider's abdomen. This time, it wasn't webbing; it was trying to stab him with these structures that were white yet rigid lines. "Too bad its speed isn't enough to wound me, big guy!"

Ye Xiu saw that Old Liu had successfully drawn the spider's attention. He struggled to stand upright. When he pulled out the Sky-Gazing Sword, a stream of thick, green gas jetted out from the injured eye, mixed with many small spiders. "Damn, the monsters in the Corpse Demon Forest are truly strange. Is this giant thing composed of countless small spiders?"

"What are you dawdling for? This thing seems to be getting serious." Old Liu used the Thin-Faced Blade to fight the silk threads in the air. The silk was too slow to match Old Liu's speed, but as their attacks continued, the entire sky became covered. "My Thin-Faced Blade can't cut these damned things. If you don't finish it soon, both of us might get netted up in the sky."

"I know!" Ye Xiu burned the surrounding small spiders with Black Flame. He gripped the Sky-Gazing Sword with both hands and drove it with a flash of red light with all his might into the injured eyeball of the giant spider. This strike was forceful and deep, certainly capable of injuring the spider's nerves. However, just as the Sky-Gazing Sword entered the eyeball and sought to penetrate deeper, a strong barrier slammed shut like a door, jamming the sword. "Damn it, what is this thing?"
