In the command room, Yang Ying opened his eyes. Not far away, Katerina was bent over something, murmuring, "Hmm?" He called her name softly.

Katerina looked up, and seeing him awake, offered a faint smile. "Sir, you're finally up. It's already evening."

Yang Ying beckoned Katerina over. When she approached, he pulled her into an embrace and murmured, "Sorry for being gone so long."

Before Yang Ying set out to circle the Floating Continent, he had checked in with Katerina once. He had also asked if she wished to accompany him, but it turned out there was an important matter within the medical corps system that required her attention, so she hadn't gone along.

"It's nothing," Katerina whispered, burying her head in Yang Ying's chest.

The next morning, Yang Ying and Katerina went to see Bai Bai. Since learning the Cube Focus Technique from Yang Ying, the little girl had become obsessed, practicing daily for over eight hours straight. The clone Yang Ying had left at the base had been watching her, and the more he watched, the more dumbfounded he became.

Bai Bai's residence was in the base's senior officer quarters, usually looked after by Lilia, the principal officer of the escort fleet. Lilia was now the commander of over three hundred escort ships, including those belonging to the Floating Continent, holding the rank of Lieutenant General, and she was quite fond of Bai Bai.

Yang Ying and Katerina arrived at Bai Bai’s door but found she wasn't in her room. They went next door to ask Lilia and learned she was at the Activity Center.

The Activity Center was a facility designated for senior officers, offering various recreational and fitness activities. It boasted over five hundred types of high-end alcoholic beverages alone, encompassing nearly every premium liquor brand across the entire Earth Sphere.

Yang Ying found Bai Bai in one of the activity rooms within the Center, drenched in sweat.

As Yang Ying saw her, the little girl was indeed practicing her concentration with a Rubik's Cube. A four-by-four cube was floating before her eyes, spinning rapidly under her intense gaze.

Because Yang Ying and Katerina were positioned to her rear-side, and her focus was completely locked onto the cube, she didn't notice their approach.

"I feel a little dizzy," Katerina whispered. "It's so fast; I can't even see clearly."

Yang Ying nodded. "Then stop looking at the cube, look at how hard Bai Bai is working."

Katerina smiled and nodded in agreement, turning her gaze to Bai Bai’s face. She saw that her small forehead was beaded with fine sweat, reflecting a soft, white glow under the lights.

After turning the cube a few more times, only one face had been resolved into a single color by Bai Bai; the other five faces were still a patchwork of red, yellow, and other hues, indicating the path to full restoration was still long.

After a few more attempts, Bai Bai's eyes suddenly lit up. She spun the cube rapidly a few times, and all six faces snapped back to monochrome.

"Yay!" Bai Bai threw up her small hands. The cube instantly lost its suspended support and dropped straight toward the floor.

Bai Bai let out a small cry, but she wasn't panicked. Her hands didn't drop; instead, she immediately projected a pulse of psychic energy, steadily catching the cube and guiding it slowly toward a table nearby.

Then, she saw Yang Ying and Katerina.

"Brother Yang Ying, Sister Katerina, did you come to see me?" Bai Bai’s bright, large eyes shone like two little light bulbs, emitting sparkling brilliance. Her slender legs propelled her forward as she dashed toward Yang Ying and Katerina.

The cube tumbled with a soft sound, losing its grip just a centimeter from the table edge, and clattered onto the floor.

As she neared Yang Ying and Katerina, her eyes flickered, as if calculating which embrace to land in, and in that instant, she made her decision.

Thump!

She crashed into Katerina's arms. Katerina, who had already clutched a handkerchief in her hand, gently dabbed at the sweat on Bai Bai’s forehead.

Yang Ying sighed, using a pulse of psychic energy to lift the cube from the floor and set it back on the table.

Perhaps due to some odd habit, Bai Bai inadvertently placed her small hands on Katerina’s chest, wearing an expression of pure enjoyment. She murmured softly, "Sister, Sister Katerina..."

Katerina gently flicked her head with a finger. "Don't be naughty now; take your hands down."

"Oh," Bai Bai pouted, pulling her hands back slightly.

"Bai Bai looks like she's working hard; even managing a four-by-four cube so skillfully deserves praise."

Yang Ying complimented her. In truth, praise couldn't capture the feeling in Yang Ying's heart. To handle a four-by-four cube at this level meant that, at least in terms of concentration, Bai Bai was already capable of being a High-Tier Psionicist—only one level below Yang Ying’s current standing.

Her psychic strength was still only around five hundred, not even qualifying as an Apprentice above one thousand; she was merely a Novice, yet she possessed a level of focus only a High-Tier Psionicist should have. This truly filled Yang Ying with profound shock and suspicion.

Bai Bai's talent had reached a level that made her stand out significantly from the crowd. If this were known outside the base, it would certainly incite a storm of conflict.

Hearing Yang Ying's praise, Bai Bai swung her small hands behind her back, swaying back and forth. She knew she should feel shy, but the smug satisfaction on her face was impossible to conceal.

Yang Ying stroked her head and took the opportunity to ask, "Someone told me you spend over eight hours a day practicing these days. Why is that? Are you very interested in this game?"

Bai Bai nodded seriously, stating matter-of-factly, "Because Brother Yang Ying taught me."

"Just for that?" Yang Ying exchanged a look with Katerina before focusing back on Bai Bai, their gazes softening.

Bai Bai looked up at them. "Brother Yang Ying took me in and saved me from bad people, and Sister Katerina healed my eyes, ears, and tongue. I have no way to repay you, so I must do my best at this game to make you happy."

"Good child," Katerina whispered, already moved to the point of tears welling in her eyes. She cupped Bai Bai's cheeks with both hands, stroking them gently.

Yang Ying was also deeply touched, yet he vaguely sensed something was amiss. He recalled the situation carefully; he could feel Bai Bai's emotions clearly, without any pretense of falsehood, but why did it still feel like there was a problem?

Suddenly, a thought struck Yang Ying. He knelt beside Bai Bai, patted her shoulder, and asked, "Bai Bai, how did you come up with the idea that you needed to repay us?"

"Brother Yang Ying, you saved me and treated me well, so I should repay you. Isn't that right?" Bai Bai asked, blinking her eyes.

"That’s correct, but Katerina and I never taught you that idea. Who told you this principle?"

Yang Ying suddenly remembered that since meeting Bai Bai, the little girl had been exceptionally sensible, so sensible that she barely needed guidance from them. How could those cold-blooded scientists at the Santos Secret Research Base have taught Bai Bai such things?

"Who told me?" Bai Bai looked puzzled. "It seems no one ever told me?"

"Infants don't understand principles; principles are taught postnatally. If no one teaches you, you won't understand principles, so someone must have taught you." Yang Ying recalled that Bai Bai had mentioned staying at the Santos Secret Research Base since she became aware of things, making it unlikely she met many outsiders. Yang Ying did not believe for a moment that anyone at that research base would teach Bai Bai about gratitude.

Yang Ying was about to ask if Bai Bai remembered who taught her, when he suddenly recalled that he and Katerina had named her. This little girl was clearly suffering from amnesia; how could she remember who taught her principles?

However, personality and memory are stored in different regions of the brain. Just as some amnesiacs can still speak, the brain is an incredibly complex and mysterious organ.

"Ah!" Bai Bai suddenly clutched her head, biting her lip, her face turning pale. "I think I remember now. I remember someone telling me, when I was very, very young, a person—someone very close—led me past a blue sun and then told me this sentence."

"Recalling your past? But 'very, very young'—when exactly? And a blue sun? What is that?" Katerina asked, perplexed.

Yang Ying considered this. "As an Awakened, memory regression is possible, even recalling everything from infancy. But that should only be achievable by those with Master-level Soul Essence. Bai Bai, she..."

"Ah!" Bai Bai suddenly cried out, interrupting Yang Ying, and then rapidly spoke a string of unintelligible syllables.

"What is that?" Katerina was even more confused.

Yang Ying affirmed, "Judging by the pronunciation, it's not gibberish; it must be some kind of language. And that 'blue sun' she just mentioned... perhaps..."

After finishing the speech no one could understand, Bai Bai said excitedly, "This is what that very close person told me: 'Receive a favor, one must repay it.' Brother Yang Ying, what is that? Why can I speak like this?"

"Can you remember anything else?" Yang Ying inquired.

Bai Bai squeezed her eyes shut, as if concentrating with great effort, then shook her head more vigorously. "No."

"Then don't think about it for now. Since you remembered it now, you’ll likely recall more later. Rest well now, be good," Yang Ying said, stroking her hair.

After finally calming Bai Bai down and spending some more time with her, Yang Ying and Katerina returned to the Command Room.

"Sir, what's going on? Bai Bai... could it be..." Katerina asked breathlessly as soon as they entered.

"You guessed it too?" Yang Ying nodded. "The spectral class of every star is different; blue suns truly do exist. They just aren't in the Solar System!"

"What Bai Bai remembered is from beyond the Solar System?" Katerina murmured.
