Glancing back at the Macao Commander's residence, Fatty Lin finally grasped why Yang Yi had chosen such a sudden evening for this operation—to seize incriminating evidence, place the Commander under duress, and thus ensure the Black God Guards stationed at the Macao border could enter unimpeded. This added an extra layer of security for the major confrontation with the Dragon Gang tomorrow evening.
"Brother Yi, tomorrow evening...?"
"Heh, Long Tian probably won't see this coming," Yang Yi mused, glancing at Feng Shi. "What's happening now will be the variable tomorrow evening." He then instructed her, "Yanran, immediately notify those three thousand elite Black God Guards to make all preparations and ensure they arrive before noon tomorrow."
"Yes, Young Master!" Feng Shi responded crisply, quickly pulling out her phone to make the calls.
Just as Yang Yi prepared to drive away, a strange expression flickered across his lips. He glanced in the rearview mirror, and the car began to move slowly.
"Let's follow them!" Long Wu and the others in the shadows had just emerged near the Commander's mansion when they saw Yang Yi’s car pulling away. They had no choice but to pursue.
"Yi, those people behind us!" Xuanyuan Bing frowned, her gaze fixed on the rearview mirror. She could see several figures following, vague yet distinct enough for them, who were clearly not ordinary people, to notice.
Yang Yi pressed the accelerator, speeding up and slowing down intermittently, his eyes darting to the rearview mirror and then to the watch on his wrist. "It's already three in the morning; we still have time. Taking the Dragon Group for a tour isn't such a bad way to pass the time."
"Ha ha, indeed. The most mysterious organization in Huaxia, the 'Dragon Group.' I dare say, besides high-ranking officials, who else in this world gets to be taken for a tour like this?" Fatty Lin burst into laughter.
"Idiot!" Yang Yi gave him a sharp look. "When they're on a mission, don't they always track other people?"
"Uh!" Fatty Lin hit a wall, realizing the point. Although the context was different, being led around by someone was fundamentally similar to being tracked.
The driving was erratic. They expected the car to head toward the Macao Grand Hotel, but the route taken suggested otherwise. The three pursuers began to suspect something, yet driven by the need for those two pieces of data, they persisted in following until Yang Yi's car finally stopped.
After tracking them for quite a while, Feng Wu, who had grown increasingly impatient, suddenly swore, "Where the hell is that bastard taking us? I feel like he’s just messing with us!"
"Yeah, Long Wu, do you think they noticed us already?" Long Er started to voice his suspicions as well.
Long Wu didn't answer immediately. Given the situation, it would be a lie to say he didn't suspect it, but what could he do? They couldn't exactly race against a car.
"Hmm?" Long Wu suddenly paused, stopping dead in his tracks. The others saw this and stopped too, looking at him with confusion.
"The car is gone?"
"What?" Long Er and Feng Wu exclaimed in shock upon hearing Long Wu's words, quickly looking ahead. "This...!"
They stood frozen for a moment, but after Long Wu's statement, they sped up their pace. "Quick, let's check!"
Long Wu and the others ran around a corner and found a dark alley. The three exchanged glances, preparing to enter, but simultaneously halted, their expressions turning grim as they stared directly at the four figures emerging from the shadows.
"I wonder what your intentions are for trailing this young master?" The voice belonged to Yang Yi, clearly asking a question he already knew the answer to.
"I'd guess nothing good!" Fatty Lin sneered.
"Hmph! Why the attitude? Which eye saw us tracking you? We... we were just trying to find our way home." Feng Wu's voice trailed off, losing conviction as she spoke.
Meanwhile, Long Wu and Long Er were thinking more clearly. Even if they didn't know if the alley was a viable path, the fact that their targets were waiting for them here suggested Yang Yi had been aware of the pursuit long ago.
"Oh, still tough talk, are we?" Fatty Lin, uncharacteristically abandoning his usual flirtatious banter with beautiful women, addressed Feng Wu as if she were a man, his tone dripping with sarcasm. "Brother Yi, it seems we took them on too short a garden tour. We should have driven a bit longer!"
"You... you guys just now...!" Hearing this, Feng Wu’s eyes flashed with anger, her body trembling slightly from fury.
"Isn't it obvious?" Fatty Lin stated coolly.
"I'll kill you!" Feng Wu lunged forward, intending to attack Fatty Lin, but Long Wu stopped her, pulling out a small notebook and raising it slightly.
"Since you knew we were following you from the start, I won't waste words. We are from the Ministry of National Defense, and we require an item from you. You must cooperate!" Long Wu kept his eyes fixed solely on Yang Yi, knowing Yang Yi was the most capable and authoritative figure among them.
"Are you ordering us, or are you abusing your so-called authority?" Yang Yi found their tone deeply ironic; these people acted as if they held inherent superiority, deliberately putting on an official facade.
"Stop pretending. I know you have Zhou Hai’s criminal files. As good citizens, such materials must be handed over," Feng Wu stated contemptuously, looking at Yang Yi.
But—the moment Feng Wu uttered those words, the thought flashed through the minds of Long Wu and Long Er: "It's over!"
"You said 'as a good citizen'?" Yang Yi found this hilarious. He paused, then continued, "Too bad, I am not a good citizen. Since you could track me, you must know my identity. Do you think someone involved in the underworld qualifies as a good citizen? Of course, if you think so, then that's fine."
"You!" Feng Wu felt a sharp sting in her ears; the words were grating, sarcastic, and clearly an insult veiled in rhetoric.
"Xiao Wu!" Long Wu waved a hand, stepping forward to confront Yang Yi. "We are the Dragon Group of the Ministry of National Defense. We hope Mr. Yang will cooperate and hand over the criminal files regarding Zhou Hai that you possess."
"On what grounds?" Yang Yi coldly sneered.
"You!" Long Wu was momentarily speechless. After all, he couldn't very well use his status as a Dragon Group member to intimidate the other party; that would likely backfire disastrously.
"I once heard that Huaxia possesses a mysterious organization called the Dragon Group, dedicated to righting injustices for the common people. But seeing you today, I suppose the name is quite misleading," Yang Yi's lips curved into a perfect arc as he delivered this assessment, which visibly soured the expressions of the three Dragon Group members.
"Since you know we are the Dragon Group, why refuse to hand over the incriminating evidence? Do you not believe Zhou Hai's crimes are serious enough to warrant justice?" Feng Wu’s words sounded righteous, but she failed to realize how hollow they were.
Tired of the useless chatter, Yang Yi's expression turned instantly cold. He narrowed his eyes at the trio and stated, "So what if you are the Dragon Group? Since your polite persuasion failed, must you resort to angry seizure?"
"If that is the only option left, then we must offend you," Long Er declared, striding forward, and as his words finished, he initiated the attack.
"Whoosh!" A plume of dark gas suddenly manifested in Long Er's hand, accompanied by flashes of milky-white lightning. This sight confirmed that Long Er was a dual-attribute Esper: Dark and Thunder.
Bang~~~Bang~~~
A chilling aura manifested as razor-sharp ice crystals appeared from thin air. Xuanyuan Bing stood beside Yang Yi. "Even if you are a dual-attribute Esper, how can you overcome me?"
Xuanyuan Bing, exhibiting the demeanor of a seasoned general, had barely finished speaking when Fatty Lin, who could no longer restrain himself, flashed forward. He unleashed a punch wreathed in fiery airflow—"Peng~!"
"Long Er!" Long Wu cried out in alarm. Without hesitation, he activated his own Esper, the Wind attribute, manifesting numerous wind blades that cut through the air like sharp knives.
Fatty Lin let out a cold snort upon seeing this. His body flickered, showing no fear of the wind blades. His Vajra Indestructible Body had already reached the Great Perfection stage; upon breaking through the initial Grandmaster level, Fatty Lin’s physique was like that of a steel structure.
"Since you aren't afraid of wind blades, try my fire attack!" Evidently, Feng Wu's volatile temper was intrinsically linked to her own Esper element: Fire!
Espers are often influenced in personality by their element. Among these three, Long Wu and Feng Wu possessed the most potent, or perhaps the most 'upright,' elements. Long Er, possessing dual attributes, wielded the darkest elements—both Thunder and Darkness favored treachery.
"One-on-one would be fairer. Do you think bullying one person with two people is honorable?" Feng Shi showed no regard for the three before her. She was direct, and as she spoke, she drew a dagger concealed on her person and lunged toward Feng Wu.
One dual-attribute Esper, possessing Dark and Thunder abilities. One single-attribute Esper, possessing the most formidable offense and defense, the Ice element.
The other two—one with Wind, the other with Fire—were confronting two martial artists, Ancient Martial Artists, both having surpassed the initial Grandmaster level. The resulting battle was earth-shattering. The ground was continuously ravaged by air currents, wind blades, fire attacks, and more.
Espers could attack from a distance, while martial artists required close-quarters combat, necessitating running and dodging. The ground, the corners of the walls, and even the vibrant green trees did not escape the devastating impact of the conflict.
