Er Lun Tai Jing stared coldly at Robin, then let out a low, internal snort. Such insolence from a slip of a girl—how dare she strike my daughter!
Though boiling with fury internally, Brenda managed to ask, "Why did you hit her so hard?"
Robin’s reply was devastatingly final, stated again with concise brevity: "She annoyed me."
Ugh!
At that moment, Brenda nearly choked on her own breath. She hadn't expected this young girl to be so utterly arrogant. Surrounded as they were, she still uttered such infuriating words. Did she think Brenda wouldn't dare touch her here? Hah. You’re mistaken. Just watch how I deal with you!
Thinking this, Brenda started to signal one of her subordinates, but just then, a completely unfamiliar voice cut through the tension: "I strongly advise you not to make any rash moves. You will regret it dearly if you do."
The speaker was none other than Keni, who was emerging unhurriedly from the main hall. She felt no concern for Tiya, knowing Robin was her protector; those guards weren't even a match for her, let alone the entire military force of the 'Brilliant Kingdom.'
"Who are you?" Brenda frowned sharply upon seeing Keni, whom she had never encountered before. Earlier in the hall, she had been focused on observing the movements around her and Pagie’s expression, completely failing to notice Keni standing next to Pagie.
Keni ignored the question, instead glancing at the men now surrounding Robin, and remarked in a teasing tone, "I suggest you all clear a path quickly. It’s going to get quite dangerous!"
She then chuckled to herself, leaving the meaning of her words maddeningly obscure.
"I'll ask you one more time: exactly who are you?" Brenda’s patience had reached its absolute limit. Every person appearing now seemed more irritating than the last.
"Shouldn't you introduce yourself before demanding someone else’s name?" Keni completely disregarded Brenda’s hostile expression. Having followed Zhong Shenxiu for so long, she had weathered storms far greater than this; a mere Palace Mistress couldn't possibly intimidate her.
Brenda’s face flushed a sickly green with rage. Her commanding self, a Palace Mistress, being asked to state her name first—what a joke! Did this woman even deserve to know her name?
Though desperate to teach Keni a lesson right then and there, she had to settle the score with the brat who had injured her daughter first, or the anger in her chest would never subside!
Almost as soon as the thought crossed her mind, several subordinates nearby received a signal and lunged violently at Robin, without any preliminary warning whatsoever!
The instant they moved, Keni couldn't help but shake her head and sigh: Alas, fail to heed a woman's warning, and suffering is immediate!
Just as those few subordinates were certain their lunge would overwhelm the target, Robin gave a slight, graceful wave of her small hand. Immediately, the space around Robin shimmered and undulated, like the surface of a disturbed lake rippling outwards.
Then, a bizarre scene unfolded. Those subordinates charging at Robin bizarrely vanished, leaving behind no trace, emitting no sound—so strange it was as if they had never existed at all.
In that instant, every expression froze, and even breath seemed to halt!
What just happened?
This question flooded everyone’s mind. Making several living people disappear at such close range was more magical than any stage trick!
Brenda's expression was priceless now, as if silently demanding, Where in the hell did you make my people vanish to?
The entire courtyard fell suddenly, utterly silent. Robin, however, remained as placid as she had been at the start, acting as if none of it concerned her.
"Y-you..." Brenda's voice cracked, attempting to demand answers but finding herself unable to form a coherent sentence.
Truthfully, if Robin weren't concerned about frightening Tiya further, she could have done something far more shocking.
Robin ignored her, simply taking Tiya’s hand and walking towards the exit. The people who had previously blocked their path now instinctively parted, creating a clear way for them.
Pagie watched the receding figures of her two daughters. Her shock was equal to anyone else's. She kept asking herself: Is this truly my daughter?
Now, she utterly believed what Keni had told her moments before. When describing Robin's power, Keni had used a vivid analogy: If Robin wished it, she could destroy this entire palace instantly. That was Robin's true strength!
Heavens, I have a little monster for a daughter!
Even so, Pagie couldn’t help but laugh. After all, it was undeniably impressive; not just any woman could birth such an incredible daughter!
Casting a glance at the visibly defeated Brenda, a hint of a smile reappeared on Pagie’s lips, and she couldn't resist saying, "Sister Brenda, the wind is rather strong outside; take care not to catch a chill."
There was no wind at all outside. In fact, the sun was blazing overhead!
Brenda turned back to look at Pagie, gritting her teeth as she said, "We intruded today. We shall visit another time." With that, she led her subordinates away! (What else could she do? They had lost enough face already. Staying longer, even if they didn't attack, might see her die of sheer frustration!)
This immediate crisis had passed for now. However, Brenda was not the type to let things go so easily. There was no need to worry about them, though—after all, their strongest fighter hadn't even entered the fray, and Robin alone was more than enough to make them suffer miserably!
Inside the sleeping chambers, Pagie rolled her eyes at Keni and asked, "Is there something on my face? Why are you looking at me like that?"
Keni, however, was staring straight at Pagie, laughing uncontrollably as if she had witnessed the funniest sight imaginable.
Pagie grew unnerved by the intense scrutiny. The more she pressed Keni for an explanation, the harder Keni laughed, which thoroughly irritated Pagie. Normally, no one dared laugh at her this way, but now she simply couldn't muster any temper.
After a long moment, Keni finally contained her laughter, but her gaze towards Pagie became even more suggestive.
"You—if you don't speak, I'm leaving!" Pagie declared, rising to her feet.
"Pagie, I found your composure just now incredibly cool! You completely captivated me," Keni said, then burst into laughter again.
Pagie’s cheeks flushed pink, realizing Keni was referring to her verbal sparring with Brenda. She sighed, "Actually, I was just pretending!"
"And now?" Keni leaned closer to Pagie.
"Keni, cut it out. Can I ask you one question?" Pagie couldn't handle the teasing and quickly tried to change the subject.
"What is it? Go ahead and ask." Keni settled back into her seat.
"How exactly did Robin make those guards vanish?" Pagie asked with sincere seriousness. She had pondered this question for ages but still couldn't comprehend it.
"Spatial Magic!" Keni answered succinctly.
Pagie remained silent for a long time, then finally looked up, her expression turning grave as she asked a follow-up question: "Where did Robin learn such skills?"
"From Xiao Xiu."
"Xiao Xiu? You mean—"
"Yes, Robin's Master!" Seeing Pagie's look of astonishment, Keni chuckled again.
"Then he must be—must be..." Pagie searched desperately for the right adjective but couldn't find one.
"Invincible, right?" Keni supplied the word.
"Exactly what I meant."
Keni suddenly let out a sly chuckle and leaned in close to Pagie's ear, whispering something that left Pagie utterly dumbfounded.
In the Southern Yu Palace, Caroline lay flat on an exquisite small couch, swathed in bandages like a mummy.
"Sister, Sister!" A worried voice called from outside, and immediately, a young boy appeared at Caroline’s bedside.
This boy, clad in luxurious attire and appearing to be about fourteen, was Caroline's older brother, Xiao Xiu!
"Sister, how did you end up like this? We agreed you’d meet me at the academy—how could you..." Xiao Xiu stared at his sister’s wretched state, finding it hard to believe. She had looked perfectly fine this morning; now she looked like the victim of a severe accident.
Caroline mechanically turned her head to look at Xiao Xiu and rasped, "Brother."
"What happened? Tell me, I'll get vengeance for you!" Xiao Xiu was filled with righteous indignation; he clearly had a fiery temper.
"Mother has already left," Caroline rasped again.
"Who did this to you?" Xiao Xiu scanned his sister, growing more alarmed the more he looked. These injuries didn't look like they came from a mere fight; they resembled torture marks! Who dares inflict such cruelty on a princess?
"Brother, don't ask!" The memory of what had just transpired made Caroline tremble even now. Robin had left too deep an impression on her; she likely would never forget that terrifying little demon.
"Sister, don't worry..." Xiao Xiu hadn't finished his comforting words before Caroline interrupted him with an agitated voice.
"Brother, you absolutely must not provoke Princess Tiya! And don't—" Caroline couldn't force the rest of the words out, the memory of being beaten rendering her speechless.
"Was it Princess Tiya who did this? Fine, Brother remembers. Rest well here; I’ll visit again later!" Saying this, Xiao Xiu abruptly turned and hurried away.
Caroline nearly tumbled off the bed in distress. Oh, Brother, please don't go! That girl isn't human! We can’t afford to cross her!
Meanwhile, the departing Xiao Xiu had no idea that his mother had just returned from the 'Eastern Joy Palace' smarting from a defeat. All he currently wanted was to secure justice for his sister.
He wasn't foolish enough to march directly to the 'Eastern Joy Palace' to demand satisfaction. Instead, he ordered his subordinates to keep a close watch; the moment Princess Tiya stepped outside the jurisdiction of the 'Eastern Joy Palace,' they were to notify him immediately.
As fate would have it, not long after he gave the order, a subordinate rushed in breathlessly to report that a small boy had emerged alone from the 'Eastern Joy Palace'!
Xiao Xiu’s eyes lit up. Heaven favors me! (But did heaven truly favor him? Only a fool would think so!)
