The workers were utterly astonished; no one had expected Robin to suddenly ask about the '' (Patterned Heart). In truth, this was already quite restrained of her; at least she inquired before acting. Had it been her usual self, Caroline wouldn't even have known how she disappeared!
Douglass and the others were equally surprised that Robin would pose such a grave question, and even more so that she intended to kill Caroline right there. This had clearly surpassed their limits of acceptance. If Caroline were truly killed at that moment, a full-blown internal conflict would be inevitable!
Under normal circumstances, they could have dismissed Robin’s words as a joke and ignored them, but anyone with even a modicum of strength could feel the killing intent radiating off Robin!
Robin was absolutely not joking!
It was then that Douglass abruptly recalled Charlotte’s demeanor that other day. He hadn't thought much of it then, but now, looking back, he realized that woman’s expression clearly showed worry about Robin taking action!
Did that mean Robin left no survivors when she struck?
The moment this thought surfaced, Douglass shivered violently, as if witnessing an extremely terrifying scene!
“Princess Robin, perhaps it’s better not to take a life!” Douglass hastily interjected.
With matters like this, it was better to believe it true than to dismiss it!
Robin’s brow furrowed. If not for the fear of causing future trouble for Tira, she would have genuinely liked to eliminate this irritating Caroline.
“What, you think you can kill me too? Do you realize I could have you charged with a crime based on just those words!” Caroline hadn't grasped the gravity of her situation and was still gloating, completely unaware that Robin was currently figuring out how to deal with her!
Caroline felt nothing, but among the guards she brought, there were undoubtedly experts who sensed danger approaching. Their expressions immediately grew serious, and they instinctively clustered closer to Caroline!
Normally, guards sensing danger should alert their mistress, but these guards knew Caroline’s temper all too well and dared not say a word. “What are you guys do—” Caroline tried to ask her guards what they were doing, but the words died in her throat as Robin’s small hand clamped around her neck.
Robin’s strike was impossibly fast. Even though the guards were sufficiently vigilant, they failed to clearly see how Robin moved. By the time they reacted, Caroline was already under Robin’s control!
This change was too sudden; nobody had anticipated Robin attacking without so much as a warning, and with such incredible speed!
After freezing for two seconds, Caroline’s guards finally snapped out of it. They lunged toward Robin’s wrist, some even thrusting their hands toward Robin’s face!
Their attack was swift, and under normal conditions, ordinary people would certainly have been subdued by their synchronized and rapid cooperation. But Robin was no ordinary person; one might even say she was a little monster, and for these people to even touch her was pure fantasy!
And so, everyone only saw a blur before their eyes, as if something flashed past. When they finally saw clearly, everyone was dumbfounded. There were actual human bodies flying, the very ones who had just lunged at Robin. Whether they were alive now was unknown, as they lay motionless after falling onto the stone ground several dozen meters away!
With just that single move, the very air seemed to freeze. All of Caroline’s remaining guards stared at Robin with wide, terrified eyes; not a single one dared to charge forward again.
Weird. Damn it, it was utterly bizarre!
Still, no one had seen how Robin moved, yet actual people had definitely been flung away!
What did this signify?
It meant that for Robin to kill them would be easier than crushing an ant!
“Release Princess Caroline!” one guard shouted, his voice trembling. His longsword was already drawn, but it offered him no confidence or courage!
Caroline was struggling fiercely, but what terrified her most was that the harder she thrashed, the tighter the grip on her neck became. The sheer power of it left her utterly unable to resist. She simply couldn't comprehend how Robin, who was the same size as Tira, possessed such immense strength. Who was she? Had she truly misjudged and was about to be killed?
In that moment, the usually fearless Caroline finally understood what true dread was. She never imagined death could be so close; with just a slight squeeze from Robin’s small hand, she could be reincarnated!
Robin ignored the guards’ shouts, her eyes fixed coldly on Caroline, her expression seeming to ask: Where is your arrogance now? Where did that previous fire go?
“Release Princess Caroline immediately, or don’t blame us for being impolite!” the guards yelled anxiously and nervously, channeling their battle energy around them.
If anything happened to Caroline, none of them would survive either. But if they rushed forward recklessly, they might die instantly. Faced with such a dilemma, every choice was agonizing!
“You want me to let her go?” Robin finally glanced at the guards, her voice a chilling, flat tone that could freeze a person solid!
The guards felt an inexplicable tightening in their chests. No matter how they looked at it, Robin didn't seem like someone who would obediently comply. So, what did she mean by asking that?
They couldn't figure it out, and they didn't have time to contemplate it, because if they didn't act soon, Princess Caroline would suffocate!
“Yes, release Princess Caroline quickly!” one guard couldn't help but cry out.
As his words fell, there was a sudden dull thud—bang—as Caroline was thrown to the ground by Robin as if she were tossing a chick. Caroline landed hard, completely disoriented and seeing stars.
This was already Robin showing mercy; otherwise, that impact alone could have left her half-dead, if not killed outright!
Caroline, a delicate blossom, had never endured such treatment. The agonizing pain made her burst into loud sobs, completely erasing her former arrogance and tyranny!
But were tears useful? If tears worked, why would anyone need the police?
Robin had no intention of letting her off lightly. Given Robin’s nature, if she didn't strike, she wouldn't stop easily once she did! Since she couldn't kill her, she was determined to teach her a severe lesson, ensuring she would never be arrogant again, making her hairs stand on end every time she recalled the incident later!
“Princess Caroline!” Seeing Caroline fall and weep uncontrollably, the guards became frantic and moved to help her up. However, something completely unexpected occurred.
Caroline’s body strangely lifted off the ground, falling back into Robin’s grip—this time, Robin had seized her by the hair. Robin had never been one for tenderness toward women; that much was evident from past events.
Caroline grimaced in pain as her hair was pulled, yet she dared not move too much, because the more she twisted, the harder the pull on her scalp became, and the more it hurt!
Caroline was actually a fairly competent mage, but at this moment, Robin had utterly bewildered her, making her forget this fact. In truth, even if she had used magic, it would have been futile, as Robin was the matriarch of magic—she could toy with a mage to death just as easily!
Caroline never imagined this Robin would be so different from Tira. In the past, when she bullied Tira, Tira would only endure it without talking back. She hadn't expected this Robin to attack the moment they met. Did Robin not even regard her existence? Wasn't she afraid of Caroline's mother?
“Let me go, or my mother won’t let you—” Caroline managed to say in a muffled voice, attempting to invoke her mother’s influence to make Robin hesitate. If she could just escape this ordeal, she vowed she would never let Robin off!
But before she could finish, Robin’s voice cut her off, still impossibly cold: “Are you telling me to release you?”
Before Caroline could react, she was slammed onto the ground again by Robin.
This time was different from the last; Robin had flung her while yanking her hair, sending waves of searing pain through Caroline’s scalp as if it were about to be ripped off!
“I’ll kill you!” Caroline shrieked like a dying pig as she curled up on the ground.
“I won’t kill you!” Robin replied calmly. Though she left out the unspoken second half: I will make your life a living hell!
This was merely Robin’s warm-up exercise. She hadn't even brought out her true skills in administering punishment yet. Caroline definitely wouldn't be talking like that later!
It wasn't just Caroline’s guards who were stunned; even Douglass and the others, who had some experience, were frozen in place. They never imagined that the quiet, seemingly calm and refined little Princess Robin could become so savage when hands were laid!
Meanwhile, Tira was utterly adorable, her eyes wide, her small cherry mouth agape. Her expression of shock stood in stark contrast to Robin’s severe face!
Robin looked down at the groaning Caroline as if she were watching a mere clown, her face devoid of any sympathy—only coldness remained!
People like Caroline, when they bullied others, never considered sympathy; they might even take pleasure in it. Compared to that, Robin was infinitely better!
“Don’t come closer, don’t come closer!” Caroline cried out again as she saw Robin approaching. She tried to scramble backward but found her body numb from the falls and unable to move!
“Kill her, quickly, kill her!” Caroline screamed at her guards in desperation.
Her shout finally galvanized the guards, who now disregarded caution and charged straight at Robin.
However, what followed was something no one had anticipated!
As the guards took their first steps, a strange black mist suddenly enveloped them—or perhaps, a black light!
Then, the guards felt a heavy pressure in their heads, as if something manic was flooding their minds. After that, consciousness vanished!
Next, the real show was about to begin.
