Even from a distance, Mo Han could feel the immense energy contained within the fireball. The Saint Dragon Clan truly lived up to its renown for magic; to unleash such a powerful fire spell instantaneously within Hades’ barrier was something Mo Han himself probably couldn't manage right now.
Seeing the massive fireball hurtling toward him, Hades couldn't help but speak with a touch of surprise, "Oh? To instantly cast an Eighth-Level spell inside my barrier... that is somewhat interesting."
No sooner had Hades finished speaking than the colossal fireball struck the exact spot where he stood, without any fancy maneuvers. With a deafening boom, the gigantic fireball exploded upon impact with Hades, instantly engulfing his position in a shower of flames that scattered everywhere, as spectacular as any fireworks display.
As the Fireball spell hit Hades, the millions of allied human forces below the battlefield fell utterly silent. No one could believe that Hades would actually remain motionless, not even summoning a protective barrier, and allow himself to be struck dead-on by the Fireball spell. Yet, this unbelievable sight was unfolding right before their eyes, locking everyone’s thoughts in a state of bewilderment—Mo Han included, who stood frozen in place.
This was no ordinary magic; it was Dragon Tongue Magic, the specialty of the Saint Dragon Clan, renowned across the continent for their magical prowess. Even Mo Han, without deploying any defense, would likely have sustained severe injuries, let alone anyone else.
And yet, Hades had managed to endure it. In the instant the great fireball slammed into the King of the Underworld’s body, Mo Han still failed to detect any trace of magical or battle qi fluctuations near him.
Naturally, Mo Han refused to believe that the God of the Underworld could be annihilated by an Eighth-Level spell.
As expected, once the destructive power of the fireball dissipated and the shower of flames began to fall.
The figure of Hades, the King of the Underworld, gradually emerged. He appeared entirely unscathed; not even his clothes seemed to have been affected by the force of the preceding fiery blast. He stood utterly immaculate, as if nothing untoward had ever occurred.
“A pity. The magical strength of the Earth Dragon Clan has become so weak now. Compared to your ancestors, you dragons barely achieve even half of their former might.”
The King of the Underworld, Hades, actually shook his head and sighed.
It seemed he grieved for the diminished state of the Dragon race.
Hades continued, “Even your ancestors were no match for me back then. Even your most outstanding ancestor, the Dragon God Cafetros, could only barely hold a fight against me. Not to mention you descendants, who can’t even reach one-tenth of Cafetros’s power. And you still dare to challenge me?” The King of the Underworld’s tone was utterly arrogant, showing utter disdain for the Dragon race.
But everyone present knew that Hades had the substance to back up such claims. The sheer power Hades had just displayed was beyond the capabilities of anyone else present.
After saying this, Hades’ tone shifted, taking on a note of regret. “However, if you surrender now, out of respect for the past favor of Lord Cafetros, I might spare you foolish dragons.”
“Otherwise, all of you will become one of the Bone Dragons of my magnificent Underworld today. Think carefully about this.”
“But if you wish to die.”
“It’s best to hurry; I don’t have all day to waste on these reptiles.”
Hearing Hades’ words, all the great dragons were instantly enraged. The Dragon race had always been exceedingly arrogant, never regarding other races as equals. Furthermore, the thing the Dragon race feared most was being turned into Bone Dragons. To have this explicitly threatened to their faces ignited the fury of every dragon present.
Innumerable clear, resonant dragon roars once more echoed above the battlefield. Following this, dozens, even hundreds, of Saint Dragons and Demon Dragons, led by their respective clan leaders, simultaneously ascended, charging toward Hades.
These dragons understood clearly that Hades had not been boasting. Given his strength, no single dragon would be a match for him. Facing a divine being who had existed for tens of thousands of years, the Dragon race put aside their innate pride. They did not wish to engage in futile sacrifices, which was why they all lunged toward Hades at once.
The grand spectacle of dozens, even hundreds, of giant dragons taking to the sky simultaneously was something one could never witness under normal circumstances. Its sudden appearance now whipped up an overwhelming aura of power.
Even standing amidst the fray, quite a few human soldiers gasped in astonishment, as such a scene might never be witnessed even once in the lifetime of everyone present, rendering them momentarily speechless.
Countless Dragon Tongue Spells erupted from the mouths of the Saint Dragons, raining down across the sky. The multicolored magic spewed forth like a torrential downpour, furiously bombarding the location where Hades stood. Meanwhile, the Demon Dragons utilized their formidable Draconic Battle Qi, spitting torrents of Dragon Breath toward Hades.
Facing a combined assault from over a hundred dragons, including the attacks from two Divine-level giants, even a Divine expert would likely meet certain death in a head-on confrontation. No one could withstand the ferocious combined assault of the Dragon race head-on.
Yet, Hades, the King of the Underworld, acted as if he felt nothing, calmly remarking, “Now that has a bit of the Dragon race’s spirit, but alas, it’s still far too little.”
Though the King of the Underworld spoke casually, facing the combined onslaught of over a hundred enraged dragons, even he dared not be careless again by withholding any protective barrier.
Immediately, a magical barrier shrouded his body, glowing with a dim, dark light, enclosing Hades completely. This barrier, shimmering with an eerie luminescence, appeared profoundly bizarre; it seemed light itself could not penetrate it even slightly. Those outside could not discern the slightest detail of what was happening within.
At the same moment, the multicolored magical attacks unleashed by the dragons and the Battle Qi strikes from the Demon Dragons simultaneously slammed into the dark barrier manifested by Hades.
As countless spells detonated, the entire sky erupted in blinding light, making it impossible for anyone to clearly see Hades’ condition. Only Mo Han maintained a deeply solemn expression, his worry evident on his face.
Although the light from the magical explosions made the sky painfully bright, for an expert of Mo Han’s caliber, it presented little true impediment. Thus, Mo Han could clearly observe the state of the dark magical barrier Hades had summoned under the relentless barrage of magic.
Under the bombardment of countless high-level spells, the dark, gloomily glowing black magical barrier showed not the slightest ripple. Facing the tide-like magical attacks and Battle Qi assaults from the Dragon race, the black magical barrier stood as steadfast and unmoving as a sheer cliff face.
The rampaging magical elements could not inflict the slightest damage upon this black barrier. Mo Han had even speculated that if he were to fully deploy his own magical barrier, he probably couldn't withstand even one wave of the dragons’ attack, let alone the fact that Hades had already weathered countless waves. The disparity in strength between them was self-evident.
The Saint Dragon Clan Leader and the Demon Clan Leader, both Divine-level powerhouses themselves, naturally grasped the condition of Hades’ magical barrier and could only helplessly order their clan members to cease their futile attacks.
After the dragons halted their assault, Hades’ dark barrier gradually became visible to everyone again. Just as Mo Han had observed before, the entire black barrier remained completely undamaged, standing firm, enclosing a three-meter radius entirely within its sphere of influence. Naturally, the onlookers could not clearly discern the specifics inside the barrier.
As the Dragon race’s magical assault ceased, the shadowy black mist barrier gradually dispersed, revealing the towering figure of Hades within.
“Alas, it seems you have chosen the path of death. You cannot blame me then.”
Though Hades uttered these words with striking calmness, every dragon present felt a chill deep within their hearts. They could sense the unparalleled, overwhelming self-confidence emanating from his placid tone.
An entire round of frenzied magical bombardment had failed to inflict even a scratch on Hades. What kind of terrifying strength was this? Even the usually haughty dragons now felt a primal fear spreading from their core; the Saint Dragon Leader was no exception.
The allied soldiers who had witnessed the entire event turned ashen-faced. The Dragon race, whom they considered unimaginably powerful, could not breach even a fraction of this being, despite having over a hundred giants attacking. All these ordinary soldiers now felt nothing but infinite terror and shock surging within them.
