"Weng Yi, what's going on with the group?" The medical staff stared in horror, their eyes wide with disbelief. Outside, people were strewn about haphazardly, and not one of them could move!
Meanwhile, a growing crowd gathered, pointing fingers and murmuring in shock!
The teacher turned back toward Zhong Shenxiu and the others, his expression clearly asking what had happened. But Zhong Shenxiu acted as if he saw nothing, instead announcing, "Today's class meeting ends here!"
With that, he turned and left with Robin and Kaine, leaving behind trembling students and a bewildered teacher!
In the Dean’s office, Liander was lost in a pleasant dream, envisioning the academy's day of glory!
Suddenly, a teacher burst in, panicked, forgetting even to knock.
"Dean, Dean, you must go take a look!"
"What? What happened?" Liander snapped out of his reverie, startled.
"Dean, something terrible has happened in the freshman teaching building! You have to see it!" The teacher hurriedly recounted what he had witnessed.
"What?" Upon hearing the description, Liander's eyes nearly doubled in size. "You said a 'bloodbath'???"
Following the teacher, Liander rushed to the scene of the incident, arriving just in time to see several medical staff desperately trying to save a group of injured students!
At that moment, Liander was also stunned. He hadn't expected such an event on the very first day of school, and what troubled him even more was that the unconscious injured students all seemed to be noble children. If mishandled, the academy's reputation would be ruined, not to mention the potential for serious trouble!
"What in the world happened?" Liander asked, his face grim. He had to get to the bottom of this; whoever the culprit was, they must be severely punished!
"Dean, it seems these students were all flung out of Class Four!" a teacher pointed toward the third-floor windows.
Liander looked up and indeed saw that a window in Class Four was noticeably shattered. Just as he was about to erupt in anger, his body stiffened; he suddenly remembered that "Class Four" was the class taught by Zhong Shenxiu!
The teacher beside him, unaware of Liander's thoughts, added, "Dean, this is a witness from just now, and these are... the uninjured students from Class Four."
Liander first addressed the witness, noticing he was one of the gardeners tending the campus flowers, and asked, "What did you see?"
He needed to understand the situation first before confronting Zhong Shenxiu. Though he had only interacted with Zhong Shenxiu twice, he understood a little about the man's temperament, and they even had an agreement: Liander was not to interfere with Zhong Shenxiu's teaching methods!
The gardener, in his fifties, looked unwell, clearly terrified. In a slightly trembling voice, he recounted, "W-When I was pruning the plants, I suddenly heard a tremendous crash. I looked up and saw a student fly out of the third-floor window."
At this point, the old gardener’s breathing grew ragged, and his body began to shake slightly.
"And then?" Liander pressed, trying to keep his tone gentle.
The old gardener seemed deeply reluctant to speak of what followed. After controlling his emotions for a long moment, he continued, "Then I went over to see what was happening, and just then, a dark shadow fell from the sky, nearly hitting me. I looked closely... it was another student. I didn't know what to do and just froze there, and then more students started flying out... I didn't dare stay any longer and ran off."
"Is that all?" Liander frowned. After listening for so long, he had gained no useful information! The old gardener nodded.
Liander then had someone escort the gardener to the infirmary for rest. Things were chaotic enough; he didn't want the old man collapsing from shock!
After the gardener left, Liander turned his attention to Wayne and the others, asking again with an amiable tone, "Students, don't be afraid. Can you tell me what happened inside?"
However, these students only stared at him with a strange look, none of them speaking. Their expressions seemed to say: You brought those two little demons here, don't you know what happened?
Liander didn't get angry and patiently continued, "Don't worry, I just want to understand the situation. I won't discipline you!"
Little did he know, these students would have welcomed any form of punishment; they'd prefer to be expelled!
Wayne and the others remained silent, adopting a look that suggested they’d rather die than speak. They were genuinely traumatized. Who knew if those two devils would come after them if they talked? Recalling the scene, shivers ran down their spines!
They wondered why, out of all people, they had to have those two little demons as teachers?
Seeing that he couldn't get a word out of the students, Liander let them go home. He racked his brain, intending to question Zhong Shenxiu—as the class head, he should know the whole story—but the problem was, he didn't know where Zhong Shenxiu was!
Although the cause of the incident couldn't be determined immediately, the truth couldn't be contained forever. After the efforts of the medical staff, some of the less severely injured students began to wake up, tearfully recounting the events!
The leaders of the "Homebound Demon Martial Arts Academy" were completely stunned when they heard that Zhong Shenxiu, the class teacher, had instigated his assistant to do this. They found the fact hard to accept!
However, since several students gave consistent accounts, they had little choice but to believe it!
This was no longer a minor issue. If mishandled, the academy’s reputation, built over decades, was at risk of being destroyed!
The urgent priorities were to treat the injured students immediately and ensure their survival. Secondly, they needed to quickly prepare an explanation for the parents. Most crucially, they had to find the perpetrators and let the parents decide how they should be dealt with!
Liander felt immense pressure. He was the one who hired Zhong Shenxiu as a teacher, and the other leaders naturally looked to him for answers. And he had no idea where to even start looking for Zhong Shenxiu!
What was he going to do?
Agonized, Liander pulled at his few remaining strands of hair, when suddenly a spark of inspiration hit him.
He remembered Zhong Shenxiu’s intense interest in books; he had even borrowed several from the library on the day of his interview. Could he possibly be in the library now?
Even with the slightest chance, Liander had to check. After sweating profusely through three different libraries, he finally found Zhong Shenxiu in a room in the fourth library.
Liander was overwhelmed with relief, nearly grabbing Zhong Shenxiu's hand! He thought, Thank the heavens, I finally found him!
"Mr. Liander, is there something urgent?" Kaine asked, looking at the panting, emotional Liander.
Liander almost fainted. He couldn't fathom how calm these people were. Could such a massive event cause them no anxiety at all?
Despite his thoughts, Liander didn't want to waste time on trivial matters. He got straight to the point, explaining the situation and the serious implications.
"You are very nervous, aren't you?" Zhong Shenxiu put down his book, fixing his gaze directly on Liander.
Damn it!
Liander faltered, surprised by Zhong Shenxiu’s question. Nervous didn't even begin to cover it; he was at his wit's end. If not for Zhong Shenxiu's known power, he would have physically dragged him before the other leaders!
"Well... this isn't a small matter. Those parents will be here soon!" Liander said.
"I will handle it!" Zhong Shenxiu remained perfectly calm!
Liander felt an urge to strangle Zhong Shenxiu. What did he mean, he would handle it? Could he truly manage something this huge? Why was he so impulsive, never thinking things through!
Zhong Shenxiu didn't bother arguing further with Liander. He repeated, "When the parents arrive, gather them all in one place. I will deal with them then!"
Saying this, he stopped looking at Liander and returned to his book! Liander was furious. He was a Dean, yet in front of Zhong Shenxiu, he felt like a servant.
However, he dared not provoke Zhong Shenxiu now, fearing the powerful young man might simply storm out—something no one could stop. If that happened, Liander would undoubtedly bear the entire responsibility!
Thinking this, sweat beaded on Liander’s forehead. He asked with an ingratiating expression, "Um... you really can resolve this?"
"Mr. Liander," Kaine interjected smoothly, "Since Little Xiu says he can handle it, he definitely can. You just need to follow his instructions. It absolutely won't implicate you!"
After a brief pause, Kaine added, "Little Xiu dislikes being disturbed while reading. Perhaps you should go make your preparations now!"
Ugh!
Liander was stunned again. They were showing him the door!
Humiliation—there was nothing more humiliating!
But what choice did he have if he didn't comply?
Meanwhile, the parents, having learned their children were gravely injured, arrived looking ferocious, most bringing a retinue of "muscle."
"Son, who did this to you? Tell your old man. Your dad will cripple that punk for you!"
"My child, how could you be hurt this badly!"
"Heavens above, which fiend did this to my daughter?"
Suddenly, the infirmary was chaotic, thick with palpable killing intent.
When Liander rushed over and saw the scene, he froze again, secretly doubting: Can this really be resolved?
