Blais smiled and began to explain as he watched Mo Han and Bai Ling look on in confusion. "My master once said that the Seven Star Dragon Orb contains the energy of the Dragon God, an amount that those of us from the Dragon Ascent Continent simply cannot endure. If it were us, we'd likely be utterly burst apart by the sheer power before we could even absorb a fraction of the Seven Star Dragon Orb’s energy. Only someone with a physique like Mo Han's, someone not native to this continent, can fully absorb His Majesty the Dragon God’s energy."
Hearing Blais’s explanation, Mo Han felt a touch of surprise. He wondered why only he, a person from a different world, could absorb the energy of the Seven Star Dragon Orb. Could the Dragon God also have been from Earth? Mo Han thought with a strange curiosity.
With this thought, Mo Han began to question Blais about the specific reason, but Blais himself was also unsure of the details, merely stating that his teacher could only predict these things but couldn't explain why. Hearing this, Mo Han could only let the matter drop.
Just then, Blais spoke with a gentle smile. "Heh, look at me, I got so caught up talking that I forgot to congratulate you. You have now completely absorbed the residual Dragon God energy within the Seven Star Dragon Orb, achieving the strength of a low-level Divine Rank."
"Low-level Divine Rank?" Mo Han questioned, seemingly not grasping Blais’s meaning. But then, Mo Han suddenly seemed to grasp the implication of Blais’s words and exclaimed excitedly, "You mean I’ve reached the same realm as a Magic God? Really? Hahaha…."
Mo Han jumped up in excitement, only to be instantly struck by the sorrowful realization that he was completely naked. He let out a second shriek, and Bai Ling gasped in response.
She quickly turned her head away, face blazing red, utterly refusing to look at Mo Han.
Frantically, Mo Han fumbled through his spatial ring to pull out a set of clothes. Despite Mo Han’s reputed thick skin, in this predicament, his expression was undeniably one of utter mortification.
Damn it, what a loss. He’d been seen completely, hngh.
He was still a virgin, and worse, he’d been seen entirely by a man! Mo Han felt a sudden, impulsive urge to beat someone up, hehe.
Thankfully, Bai Ling had also seen him. If Bai Ling had seen everything, it wasn't a total loss; he could find a chance to look back at her someday, Mo Han thought wickedly.
However, the subject seemed to have forgotten that Bai Ling possessed mind-reading abilities.
Instantly, an icy glare was directed at Mo Han, sending a shiver down his spine. He quickly stammered, "Heh heh, a misunderstanding.
A misunderstanding, Bai Ling, please don't take it the wrong way. I was just thinking out loud a moment ago.
It didn’t mean anything else."
Damn.
The destructive power of an enraged woman was truly terrifying. Even now, as a Magic God, he found it unbearable, Mo Han thought to himself internally.
Meanwhile, Blais watched the pair with a look of pure confusion, unable to decipher what Mo Han was going on about.
Yet, Bai Ling was genuinely happy for Mo Han’s successful advancement. To leap directly from the realm of Intermediate Saint Magus to that of a Magic God—the Seven Star Dragon Orb truly deserved its title as the Dragon Clan’s most treasured supreme artifact. It was one thing to advance from Intermediate to Advanced Saint Magus, which might not be terribly difficult.
But crossing the threshold from Advanced Saint Magus to Magic God was a hurdle that couldn't be cleared by mere effort or power alone; it required numerous factors, such as environment and sheer opportunity. Otherwise, given Bai Ling’s talent, she would have become a Magic God long ago. The irony was that Mo Han had reached that echelon first.
With this realization, Mo Han eagerly began to gauge his current physical state. To his delight, he discovered that his capacity for storing magic energy was worlds apart from what it was before. If Mo Han’s previous magical energy storage was a faint, trickling stream, his current capacity felt like a vast river; the disparity was self-evident.
But this wasn't the most significant difference between a Magic God and a Saint Magus. Mo Han also found that the very nature of his magic had undergone a profound alteration. It was as if he could instantly fuse with all the magical elements of heaven and earth, transforming them seamlessly into magical power.
This meant that even when his own magical reserves were depleted, Mo Han could rapidly replenish his energy by drawing upon the magical elements in the surrounding space, bypassing the need for the long meditation required by other mages to recover. In effect, unless he was casting a heavily taxing Divine Incantation, Mo Han possessed virtually endless magical energy.
He even suspected his internal reserves were sufficient to casually toss out a dozen forbidden spells, hehe. Imagine the situation: two mages battling, and one can unleash forbidden spells as easily as eating dinner. The outcome of such a contest was obvious—this was a gap that mere numbers could never bridge.
Moreover, Mo Han discovered something even more exhilarating: the magical elements in the air around him seemed to integrate with him intimately. This was completely different from his previous attempts to communicate with magical elements. Previously, Mo Han could only sense the mood of the surrounding elements.
But now, to his pleasant surprise, the surrounding magical elements seemed capable of instantly perceiving his will. Before, Mo Han could only understand the elements’ sentiments but couldn’t communicate with them. Now, everything was different; Mo Han could clearly converse with the ambient magical elements.
This meant that as long as Mo Han issued a command, the surrounding elements would instantly understand his intent and react rapidly. In other words, he had achieved instantaneous spellcasting—the dream of every mage.
Overwhelmed with excitement, Mo Han couldn't resist testing his newfound feeling. He softly commanded toward an empty patch of ground beside him: "Shatter."
Instantly, an immensely thick fire dragon roared into existence before him, noticeably larger than the Fire Dragon Break he used to summon after incanting. Under Mo Han’s command, the raging flames hung suspended perfectly in the air, a magnificent spectacle.
Seeing this, Mo Han finally confirmed his conjecture: he could instantly cast even a fifth-tier spell. This was something he hadn't dared to dream of before. Immediately, Mo Han whispered softly: "Disperse."
The massive fire dragon instantly dissolved into countless fire elements, vanishing into the air in the blink of an eye, as if it had never existed.
"Is this the difference between a Magic God and a Saint Magus?" Bai Ling asked faintly, watching Mo Han’s demonstration. "Just the ability to instantly cast a fifth-tier spell is something a Saint Magus cannot achieve."
To hold a spell condensed but not released—even Bai Ling could only manage this feat with great difficulty now, and only for lower-tier spells. But for a fire spell with the destructive power of Fire Dragon Break, to hold it condensed and unscattered, to control it in her hand, Bai Ling could barely manage.
But to make an already cast spell vanish into nothingness—even for someone as powerful as Bai Ling, it was impossible. Even the weakest Fireball, once launched, could not be made to disappear without a trace by her. Yet, Mo Han was now effortlessly making the fifth-tier Fire Dragon Break vanish completely.
This was fundamentally beyond Bai Ling’s capability.
However, this realization also brought Bai Ling a clear understanding of the gap in strength between herself and a Magic God. Although Bai Ling had always known she couldn't compare to a Magic God yet, due to her inherent talent, she always believed the distance wouldn't be vast.
But now, witnessing Mo Han, a newly ascended low-level Magic God, Bai Ling deeply recognized the chasm separating her from true divine magical mastery. Yet, in a strange way, this insight might benefit Bai Ling. Clearly recognizing the disparity in strength would be immensely helpful for her future cultivation.
"Congratulations, Mo Han, you have finally reached your goal," Bai Ling said sincerely, smiling at him.
Just as Mo Han was about to reply, Blais interjected, "You shouldn't celebrate too soon. After all, you only reached the Divine Rank by borrowing the energy of His Majesty the Dragon God. This result was not earned through your own cultivation. Compared to those true Divine Rank masters, you still have a considerable gap to bridge."
Seeing Mo Han’s stunned expression, Blais shook his head again. "Simply put, while you now possess Divine Rank strength, you cannot fully exert the power it should command because your foundational realm doesn't meet the true Divine Rank standard. This is something external aid cannot fix; it must come from you."
"Only by integrating this energy that doesn't originally belong to you as quickly as possible can you truly step onto the threshold of the Divine Rank. Otherwise, you will only be considered a demigod, not truly Divine. If you encountered a Divine Rank master of my caliber, you wouldn't stand a chance. Do you understand what I mean?" Blais continued to deliver the blunt assessment without mercy.
In essence, Mo Han was currently like someone who had zero driving experience suddenly being handed a high-performance racing car. He had the car’s superior capabilities, but due to his own limitations, he couldn't utilize its potential; at best, he could merely manage to keep it running.
This must be the after-effect people often talk about, Mo Han thought helplessly.
Although Blais's words were brutally direct and somewhat embarrassing, Mo Han knew they were the honest truth. Thus, despite the disappointment, he expressed sincere gratitude toward Blais. "Thank you for your counsel, esteemed sir. Mo Han will certainly keep it close to heart and will absolutely not waste this power."
Hearing this, Blais nodded with a smile and continued, "Very well, my mission is complete. What remains depends on your own efforts. By the way, you came here, I presume, for the treasures within the Ancient Blue Ruins as well?" Hearing Blais's words, Mo Han was initially taken aback, unable to grasp Blais's true intent. But seeing that Blais held no malice—otherwise, why would he have used the Seven Star Dragon Orb to upgrade him?—Mo Han's mind began to race.
The adage that failing to seize an advantage is idiocy was Mo Han’s life motto. He trusted that Blais mentioning this wasn't just idle conversation; Blais must know something. Yet, Mo Han couldn't quite ascertain Blais's true motive.
With this in mind, Mo Han decided on his approach and smiled as he replied, "Heh heh, I've always heard that the Ancient Blue Ruins are the sole remaining vestige left by the ancient gods. Therefore, Bai Ling and I came here solely to pay our respects to the ruins left by those primordial deities, satisfying our curiosity."
Upon hearing Mo Han’s explanation, Bai Ling promptly turned her head away as if she hadn't heard a word. Mo Han was practically lying through his teeth! Traveling all the way to the Ancient Blue Ruins just to satisfy a desire to admire ancient ruins—only an idiot would believe that. Only Mo Han could say such things without flushing or batting an eye, making it sound perfectly plausible.
Blais, upon hearing Mo Han’s rationale, stared at him with astonishment, eventually breaking into laughter. "I never would have thought Lord Mo Han was such an interesting person. This is the first time I’ve ever heard someone claim they came to the Ancient Blue Ruins simply for a tour. You are truly unique, my lord."
Hearing Blais’s meaning-laden words, Mo Han pretended not to understand at all, continuing his feigned ignorance. "Heh heh, everyone holds different views on the same thing. My current thoughts are perfectly reasonable, wouldn't you agree, Lord Blais? Why the surprise?"
