The day wore on, and although Robin had agreed to participate in the friendly match against "Mu Chuxi Magic and Martial Arts Academy," she didn't display much enthusiasm about it.
That morning, Zhong Shenxiu was still planning on heading to the library, but Xia Luo stopped him with a look that suggested she had something important to say.
"What is it? Don't waste my time," Zhong Shenxiu asked coolly.
"Um, the deadline is today. Can you tell me about the 'Double Axes Mercenary Group' now?" Xia Luo asked timidly, nervously observing Zhong Shenxiu's expression.
Oh?
Zhong Shenxiu had been too busy these past two days and had completely forgotten about it. He flashed his trademark smile and said, "You want to know right now how the 'Double Axes Mercenary Group' ultimately met its end?"
Xia Luo nodded, unsure what game Zhong Shenxiu was playing.
"Alright then, I'll tell you now. I hope you're mentally prepared!" Zhong Shenxiu adopted an expression that warned, Don't be alarmed.
An inexplicable bad feeling washed over Xia Luo, yet she dared not interrupt him.
Zhong Shenxiu continued, "When you leave, walk east, cross five main streets, and find a courtyard named 'Tian Bao Di Fang.' Inside, you will find the ultimate 'culprit'!"
Xia Luo visibly blinked, because she recognized that location—it was Old Danny's place, where she had rented her own courtyard! How could it be connected to that? Xia Luo's expression was filled with doubt, deeply suspicious of Zhong Shenxiu's words!
As if reading her mind, Zhong Shenxiu added, "Inside, you will find a woman named Elena, along with a few of her students. The culprits are those few people!"
This made Xia Luo even more stunned. Having previously befriended Laurent and Solomon, she knew who Elena was, and more importantly, she knew Solomon was one of Elena's students. How could it be them?
Lost in thought, Xia Luo failed to notice Angelia’s expression beside her. Angelia was staring blankly at Zhong Shenxiu, frozen stiff—or more accurately, she was petrified like a wooden chicken! Angelia could never have imagined that Zhong Shenxiu would attribute his own actions to others. This was blatant deception aimed at Xia Luo!
But was Zhong Shenxiu truly deceiving Xia Luo? If one scrutinized his words closely, they would realize that what he said was also fact. Those "Skeleton Warriors" were indeed the "Double Axes Mercenary Group," and it was ultimately Elena and her group who had utterly annihilated them.
Seeing Xia Luo’s shocked appearance, Zhong Shenxiu didn't forget to offer some reassurance: "Don't be so surprised. If you don't believe me, feel free to verify it!"
As he finished speaking, Zhong Shenxiu glanced pointedly at Angelia, his look clearly conveying: Girl, keep quiet. Or you’ll regret it!
Startled, Angelia quickly averted her gaze from the two of them, pretending she hadn't heard a thing.
Xia Luo ultimately felt there was something fishy and decided she needed to investigate. She requested leave from Zhong Shenxiu and set off alone towards Old Danny’s residence!
Once Xia Luo was gone, Zhong Shenxiu let out a playful smirk, making it impossible to guess what he was plotting.
Soon after, Zhong Shenxiu and Robin also left the courtyard. Now, only Angelia and Rhys remained in the yard—a man and a woman alone!
Angelia stood motionless, trying to decipher Zhong Shenxiu’s true intentions, all while worrying about Xia Luo’s fate!
Rhys hadn't noticed Angelia’s unusual demeanor and continued with his practice. He seemed particularly excited today, training with unusual intensity! The reason was simple: someone had visited his home yesterday to inform him that a friendly match against "Mu Chuxi Magic and Martial Arts Academy" would take place the day after tomorrow, and Rhys was named among the participants. This opponent was a massive encouragement to Rhys because, by established custom, students participating in such friendly matches had a high probability of qualifying for the "Academy Ranking Tournament." Thus, this friendly was both a test and a validation of the students' progress!
Perhaps tired from training, Rhys paused. Seeing Angelia still standing in the same posture, he found it strange and asked out of curiosity, "Senior Sister, what’s wrong?"
Rhys's voice broke her train of thought. Angelia turned her head, glanced at him, and then said flatly, "Nothing." She had been pondering for a long time but couldn't piece anything together! Zhong Shenxiu’s actions were always unpredictable; the more one tried to understand him, the more mysterious he became!
Rhys saw that Angelia didn't wish to elaborate and didn't press the matter, instead changing the subject. "Senior Sister, I'll be participating in our academy's friendly match against an external academy the day after tomorrow. Would you like to come watch?"
Angelia glanced at Rhys, uninterested, and declined.
But Rhys added, "Senior Sister, I heard Robin might be participating that day too. Won't you come see?"
Robin was participating? Angelia’s expression shifted in surprise. Robin was so powerful; why would she suddenly join this friendly match? Was she looking to "play around"? At that moment, the memory of Robin magically dominating Rhys flashed before Angelia's eyes, filling her with concern and pity for whoever would face Robin.
Despite this, Angelia still had no intention of going. The outcome was obvious: Robin would surely display her formidable, terrifying moves and beat her opponent to a pulp. She had seen such scenes too many times, even experienced them firsthand several times, and had grown numb to them!
Seeing Angelia still reluctant, Rhys didn't press further. He muttered almost to himself, "I wonder what kind of academy this 'Mu Chuxi Magic and Martial Arts Academy' is, and how strong they are. I just hope I don't embarrass myself."
Muttering this, Rhys turned to resume his practice.
However, Angelia cried out in alarm, "You—what did you just say?"
Rhys was startled by her sharp tone. Believing he hadn't said anything inappropriate, he asked back in surprise, "Senior Sister, are you feeling unwell somewhere?" He had noticed her abnormality earlier, so this question was natural.
Angelia ignored his question and pressed, "What did you just say about the 'Mu Chuxi Magic and Martial Arts Academy'?" Rhys was bewildered by Angelia’s reaction.
"Are you saying the friendly match you’re in is against the 'Mu Chuxi Magic and Martial Arts Academy'?" Angelia’s eyes widened, as if she wanted to devour Rhys.
Rhys nodded foolishly. They say women can do anything when they fly into a frenzy; Rhys suddenly felt a shiver run down his spine.
Angelia didn't register Rhys’s expression. She froze once more. She could never have imagined that the opponent for the friendly match would be the "Mu Chuxi Magic and Martial Arts Academy"—that was the academy where her sister studied! Although she rarely interacted with her sister, blood was thicker than water, and it was natural for her to worry!
Her only hope now was that her sister hadn't signed up for this "friendly match." But why did her eyelid keep twitching? The more Angelia thought about it, the more worried she became. Her sister was a mage, and apparently quite skilled. Last year, she had even participated in the "Academy Ranking Tournament," only to be eliminated midway! With her sister's ability, there was a high chance she would be on the participant list for the "friendly match"!
Of course, whether her sister participated wasn't the root of Angelia's anxiety. What truly worried her was the possibility of her sister facing Robin in the match—that was an extremely frightening prospect. She couldn't bear to imagine what a confrontation between her sister and Robin would look like!
Angelia clung to a sliver of luck, thinking that among so many people, it was impossible for her sister to coincidentally meet Robin! But this thought offered no comfort, especially considering that Robin was also enrolled in the Mage program at "Dubulai Magic and Martial Arts Academy," which intensified her dread!
Finally, Angelia made up her mind: she had to go find her younger sister, Emylia!
"Sister, is it really you looking for me?!"
Emylia was utterly astonished when she saw Angelia at the reception room, initially thinking someone was playing a prank.
Angelia looked at Emylia but didn't speak immediately, as she was carefully formulating what to say.
"Sister, a very pretty older sister came to our dormitory looking for you earlier, asking about Xia Luo. I meant to tell you at your academy, but I found out you've been on leave for a long time. Sister, where have you been all these days? Betty told me you ran away with someone? Is it true? Who is he, and is he handsome..." Once Emylia’s floodgates opened, there was no stopping her. This was precisely why Angelia usually avoided talking to her sister—their personalities were polar opposites. Angelia never expected that her "sweet" roommate, Betty, would say such things to Emylia, nearly making her erupt on the spot! What was even more surprising was that her sister Emylia seemed to have a close, affectionate relationship with Betty!
Facing Emylia’s barrage of questions, Angelia didn't want to offer lengthy explanations; some things only get murkier the more you try to clarify them. Besides, her sister, much like Betty, was the type to latch onto one topic relentlessly!
Therefore, Angelia got straight to the point: "Emylia, is your academy holding a friendly match against 'Dubulai Magic and Martial Arts Academy'?"
"Yes! Sister, how did you know? Oh, I know! Betty must have told you, right? I only told her yesterday, I didn't think she’d tell you so fast!" Emylia said with a smile.
Angelia’s eyebrow twitched. She hadn't realized her sister and Betty were already that close. She was certain Betty was seducing Emylia! But this wasn't the time to dwell on that. Angelia forcibly calmed herself and asked in a neutral tone, "Are you participating?"
"Of course, I am. Didn't Betty tell you? She even said she’d come cheer for me that day! Sister, are you coming?" Emylia asked.
"I came this time to instruct you on one thing." Angelia paused, her tone suddenly turning stern. "If your opponent is a little girl around seven years old, you must forfeit immediately! Remember, immediately!!!"
