In the midst of their rising panic, they were horrified to find their bodies suddenly light and buoyant, ascending in the blink of an eye to a height of about ten meters!
What was happening?
Since Charlotte and the others had not yet regained consciousness, they were completely incapable of resisting.
Just as they cried out in alarm, their bodies seemed to suddenly lose some unseen support, plummeting straight down.
A series of three dull thuds echoed—bang, bang, bang—and even though Charlotte and the others channeled every bit of their Dou Qi, they were still tossed about until they were thoroughly disoriented.
"Alright, that's enough for today!" Zhong Shenxiu said with a touch of helplessness. He hadn't expected these few to be so weak; they lost all ability to resist after just a few moves. It was utterly uninteresting!
During the rest period, the three women, including Charlotte, collapsed onto the ground, each feeling utterly exhausted!
"Hey, woman. How much do you think each of these swords I forged could fetch?" Zhong Shenxiu observed Charlotte at his leisure, as if the entire preceding display was merely a prelude to this question.
Charlotte stared blankly at Zhong Shenxiu. Judging by the power demonstrated by those swords, they were undeniably treasures beyond price! What truly sent a chill down her spine was that such magnificent blades had been forged by a child like Zhong Shenxiu—and even more terrifyingly, there were five of them!
Seeing that Charlotte was only stunned and hadn't replied, Zhong Shenxiu didn't mind. His reason for asking wasn't that he intended to sell the swords, but merely to gauge the market rates!
That afternoon, Zhong Shenxiu and Robin started clanging away again—ding, dang, dong—as if forging something new, though it was certainly not a sword! This was actually Zhong Shenxiu crafting a magical artifact for Robin, using that very 'Void Stone' as the primary material! This inevitably raised curiosity: What kind of treasure was he planning to create for Robin? And what incredible abilities would it possess? It was certain that whatever it was, it would far surpass those few swords!
Zhong Shenxiu seemed to regard this creation with utmost seriousness; he didn't emerge from the room even by the next day.
With Zhong Shenxiu absent, Robin did not spar with Charlotte that day either. This brought Charlotte immense relief, making her inwardly rejoice that she might finally have a day without being thrashed!
Another day passed. By noon, Zhong Shenxiu finally emerged from the room with a decidedly mysterious air; a glint of triumph seemed visible in his eyes. Clearly, the magical artifact he had been crafting for Robin was complete!
Charlotte and the others watched Zhong Shenxiu curiously, expecting him to showcase the newly forged item just as he had displayed the swords before. But he didn't. Zhong Shenxiu didn't even mention it to them; instead, he called Robin out of the courtyard and they disappeared somewhere!
"What are they doing?" Charlotte asked Angelia with confusion.
Angelia was equally bewildered. Zhong Shenxiu's actions were beyond her ability to predict, especially since there were many things Zhong Shenxiu and Robin kept hidden from her!
Seeing Angelia shake her head to indicate she didn't know, Charlotte felt disappointed and fell silent.
Meanwhile, Zhong Shenxiu and Robin, having left, headed directly towards the Demonic Beast Forest.
Reaching an open clearing, Zhong Shenxiu suddenly stopped and brought out a pair of bracers he had successfully forged over the past few days.
These bracers were clearly different from the ones given to Angelia. They were a deep, dark violet, inscribed with totem patterns resembling intricate formations, with a lifelike phoenix centered in the design!
Zhong Shenxiu placed the bracers in Robin's hand and instructed her to bind them with a drop of her blood! After a strange burst of light, the bracers settled perfectly onto Robin's slender wrists, creating a natural contrast against her skin, as fair and smooth as congealed fat!
Subsequently, Zhong Shenxiu began instructing Robin on how to use the bracers! Zhong Shenxiu had named this artifact 'Repel-Attract.' The name stemmed from its two magical functions: repulsion and attraction! The 'Void Stone' inherently possessed the power to harness natural forces. After being refined into these bracers by Zhong Shenxiu, this power became far more tangible!
Robin was exceptionally intelligent. Zhong Shenxiu only explained the method of use once, and she instantly grasped it!
"Try them now, see what their power is like?" Zhong Shenxiu prompted.
Robin nodded. With a graceful extension of her hand, a half-meter-high stone fifty meters away was instantly sucked towards her. With a mere shift of thought, the stone shot outward like a cannonball!
Boom. The stone slammed into other rocks hundreds of meters away, shattering into fragments everywhere.
Robin offered Zhong Shenxiu a sweet smile, rendering words unnecessary.
Everyone should not underestimate the power of 'Repel and Attract' inherent in these bracers. Robin had only demonstrated a fraction of their capability; their true might far exceeded imagination. It was no exaggeration: if Robin were serious, she could potentially pull down a soaring dragon from the sky; if she exerted herself, she could undoubtedly fling dozens of Sword Gods away in an instant!
Even more terrifyingly, these bracers could store magical attacks, seemingly limitlessly! What did this mean? It meant that if anyone cast magic upon Robin, she could, with a simple gesture, absorb the released spell into the bracers—regardless of the magic's grade, even a Forbidden Curse, and there was no limit to the quantity stored. And that wasn't all; Robin could, based on her intent, unleash the magic stored within the bracers, similar to 'returning a blow in kind'!
This meant that with these bracers, Robin's overall strength had leaped forward significantly; even if she faced an army alone in the future, they would be unable to harm her in the slightest! From this aspect, one had to acknowledge: Zhong Shenxiu truly deserved to be called the Grandmaster among Forging Masters. It was no wonder so many people in the Cultivation World both revered and feared him!
While the 'Repel-Attract' bracers gifted to Robin sounded incredibly potent, they were not Zhong Shenxiu's ultimate works. Compared to his other artifacts such as the 'Heaven and Earth Cauldron,' 'Divine Compass,' or 'Chaos Tablet,' these were mere trifles!
Because Zhong Shenxiu was currently constrained by his strength, he could only forge artifacts of this caliber. Once he recovered his former spiritual energy and could wield the 'Samadhi True Fire,' the artifacts he created would certainly be vastly more formidable than these 'Repel-Attract' bracers!
After a short while, once Robin had completely mastered 'Repel-Attract,' Zhong Shenxiu returned with her! The place where they had been training had been reduced to a scene of utter wreckage—perhaps this was why Zhong Shenxiu had chosen not to instruct Robin on their use back in the small courtyard.
When Zhong Shenxiu and Robin entered, Charlotte's expression visibly froze as she noticed the bracers on Robin’s wrist. This was partly due to her keen observation skills, and partly because the bracers were exceptionally eye-catching; they were impossible to ignore! What was that? She hadn't been wearing them when they left! Charlotte’s eyes were fixed intently on Robin’s wrist, almost daring her to step forward and touch them!
Angelia was no less shocked. Since Zhong Shenxiu had already gifted her a pair and explained their functions, she couldn't help but wonder if Robin's bracers shared the same abilities as hers!
Lis was not so preoccupied with a girl's wrist; he continued diligently with his practice. He was a person capable of great perseverance and diligence; whenever he saw Angelia cleaning the courtyard or doing any chore, he would immediately volunteer, never offering a single complaint! As a result, his social standing was quite good; both Angelia and Charlotte had taken the time to instruct him seriously.
Seeing how much attention Charlotte and Angelia were paying to her bracers, Robin couldn't help but beam with delight, simply because they were gifts from her Master!
Time flew by, and another two days passed swiftly. During this time, Zhong Shenxiu did not allow Robin to spar with Charlotte again, as it had lost much of its meaning.
Through days of dedicated effort, Zhong Shenxiu had nearly absorbed the essence of Lis’s ancient texts. Therefore, today, he planned to return to the library at the 'Dubulai Magic and Martial Arts Academy' to study the magic of other departments. His next target was Fire Magic! Although Zhong Shenxiu could already cast Fire Magic through the principles of mutual generation and restraint, he faced numerous limitations, and the conversion process required during casting was quite troublesome. A more significant reason was that Zhong Shenxiu held a sliver of hope: if he could fully master Fire Magic, perhaps it could solve the current issue of being unable to unleash 'Samadhi True Fire'? Or perhaps there was another flame that could substitute for 'Samadhi True Fire' and serve a similar purpose? 'Samadhi True Fire' was an invaluable asset; it was essential for both artifact forging and alchemy; without it, the results would be significantly diminished! If he could truly resolve this issue, Zhong Shenxiu would be ecstatic!
When Lis heard that Zhong Shenxiu and Robin were heading back to the 'Dubulai Magic and Martial Arts Academy,' he decided to return too. It wasn't for any other reason than to extend his leave, as his initial week-long absence was about to expire.
The 'Dubulai Magic and Martial Arts Academy,' absent for a few days, seemed to have undergone some changes; it was decorated with lanterns and festive hangings, as if preparing for an event. Upon inquiring, he discovered that in two days, the school would organize an 'Intra-School Strength Ranking Tournament.' This was likely to be the final competition held by the 'Dubulai Magic and Martial Arts Academy' this semester. It was rumored that the school would use the students' performance scores in this competition to determine the roster for the 'Academy Ranking Tournament'!
Hearing this news, Lis was extremely excited. He had always dreamed of participating in the 'Academy Ranking Tournament.' Now that he was stronger, he felt an overwhelming urge to test his skills. When he sought Zhong Shenxiu's permission to sign up for this 'Intra-School Strength Ranking Tournament,' Zhong Shenxiu was remarkably agreeable and immediately approved!
Lis cheered and ran off, presumably to register.
Watching Lis's retreating figure, Zhong Shenxiu fell into deep thought. After a long silence, he suddenly asked Robin beside him: "Robin, do you want to participate too?"
A quick inquiry revealed the truth: in two days, the school would be hosting its "Intra-School Strength Ranking Tournament." This was likely to be the final competitive event the "Duberley Magus Academy" would hold this quarter. Word had it that the school intended to use the students' performance in this tournament to finalize the roster for the "Academy Ranking Tournament"!
Upon hearing this news, Rhys was beside himself with excitement. He had always dreamed of participating in the "Academy Ranking Tournament." Now that he had grown stronger, he felt an irresistible urge to test his mettle.
When he sought permission from Zhong Shenxiu to register for this "Intra-School Strength Ranking Tournament," Zhong Shenxiu proved surprisingly agreeable and immediately gave his approval!
Rhys let out a joyous cry and bolted, presumably off to sign up.
Watching Rhys's retreating form, Zhong Shenxiu fell into deep contemplation, silent for a long moment. Suddenly, he turned to Robin beside him and asked:
"Robin, do you fancy giving it a shot as well?"
