A burst of applause erupted in the bridge when the shot landed true. "The officer has excellent gunnery skills!" the gunner exclaimed, admitting she couldn't manage such a shot without the targeting system. "It was also a case of calculated odds versus recklessness; facing them head-on wouldn't have been so easy," Yang Ying ceded the position back to her, and the bridge returned to its normal operations. Lylia smiled faintly. "Very well, next up we have a big one to deal with."

The fleet executed a turn and accelerated toward the distant starfield. Meanwhile, within the Triceratops warship, the apes were enraged by the annihilation of their deployed fighters, especially the destruction of their ace craft. Though the apes' intelligence was on par with humans, they were more easily driven by primal instincts and had a low resistance to fury and hatred—in short, they were volatile. When exceptionally angry, they would ignore discrepancies in strength and engage in actions that others would see as futile, like a mantis trying to stop a chariot. Consequently, despite losing the vast majority of its carrier-based aircraft, the Triceratops warship pursued recklessly, abandoning its original target, Kussen, completely. "They're catching up," the observer reported, watching the radar. "Excellent. Everything is proceeding according to plan," Lylia's calm voice instilled confidence in all the bridge crew. The observer watched for a moment longer, then suddenly noted, "There are a few small warships from Kussen City following behind the Triceratops." "Just trying to pick up the scraps. The Ghost fighters will handle them," Lylia dismissed the concern, viewing it as no issue at all. "Any unexpected developments here can be pinned on the Triceratops," Yang Ying added.

As the Triceratops pursued, it relentlessly fired laser beams at the Valkyrie. This was a comparatively dangerous phase because the beam struck the warship's side and rear armor, which was significantly thinner than the frontal plating. A direct hit could lead to catastrophic consequences. Fortunately, the Valkyrie had robust countermeasures for its engines; even if the thrusters were struck, the reaction core could be instantly shut down, leaving the vessel to drift until rescue—a far better outcome than outright explosion. To evade the Triceratops' barrage, the Valkyrie executed complex maneuvers, sometimes changing direction unpredictably to disrupt its aim. During the transit, the Triceratops’ fire was concentrated primarily on the second vessel, which was closest to it. The second ship dodged most of the laser beams, but its side armor was struck three times by the Triceratops. Luckily, these hits were on non-critical areas, causing no major damage; the few injured crewmen were well cared for by the medics.

The fleet sailed on for over ten minutes, reaching a secure area far from any detection range. This location was close to a dense asteroid field, occasionally peppered by stray debris. However, space combat relies on relative velocity; the fleet's speed was not drastically different from the debris, so even if a rock grazed a hull, it wouldn't inflict significant scars. As soon as they arrived, Lylia issued an order: "Deploy the Protoss Observer to jam signals here. Prevent the Triceratops from making external contact." The Protoss Observer was a product of the Protoss robotic factory, boasting extremely high technological levels. Equipped with antennae and signal emitters, it was a highly advanced electronic warfare tool. It could maintain permanent cloaking while surveying the environment, intercepting external signals, and, if necessary, jamming them to enforce informational lockdown over an entire spatial sector, cutting off all external communication while allowing friendly transmissions to pass unimpeded. "Information Barrier deployed!" the communications officer relayed the order to the Observer and quickly received confirmation. "All units, pivot and bring full firepower to bear! It's time to show our full strength!" Lylia commanded the entire fleet. Instantly, led by the three Valkyrie frigates, the fleet turned toward the Triceratops warship, and its laser cannons unleashed columns of light against the target.

Of course, the most lethal damage came from the Ghost fighters. They remained cloaked behind the debris, then silently closed in on the Triceratops, launching missiles. Before the Triceratops could react, it was already surrounded by Ghosts. Furthermore, the Ghosts maintained their cloaked status when attacking, so to the apes inside the Triceratops, it appeared as if missiles were emerging from the void itself to strike them. The few remaining carrier-based aircraft on the Triceratops were each hit by four or five missiles and were quickly annihilated by the Ghosts. However, although the Ghosts destroyed the ship's aft engines with missiles, the apes inside the Triceratops managed to sever the power lines before the engine meltdown triggered a reaction core explosion. While this left them without propulsion, they could maintain systems for a while longer.

Seeing that the Triceratops did not detonate like the previous ships, the Ghost fighters continued their assault. The three horn-like laser turrets on the Triceratops' bow were subsequently struck repeatedly by missiles. While one or two might not cause major damage, an attack involving hundreds of missiles was enough to neutralize all three turrets. With the main weapons eliminated, the next targets were the smaller secondary turrets across the Triceratops' surface. However, the Ghost fighters carried limited ordnance, typically stored in two wing bays—twelve missiles in total. They had used some against the Raiders previously, and after taking out the Triceratops' main guns and some secondary turrets, they were almost depleted. Lylia recalled the Ghost fighters and then ordered the Valkyrie frigates to move in close and open fire. By this point, the Triceratops had lost its engines and main batteries, and its remaining secondary guns had no effective firing angles against the Valkyries. Once close, the hit probability approached one hundred percent, with every shot slamming squarely into the Triceratops hull. Intelligence from the Protoss Observer indicated the apes inside had been continuously trying to contact the outside world, calling for another Triceratops from outside Kussen City to reinforce them. But under the Observer's information screen, these efforts were futile. After more than twenty sustained salvos, massive internal explosions began rocking the Triceratops. The matte black armor burst open with gaping holes amid the fiery detonations. A few minutes later, with a final, resounding boom, the entire warship disintegrated into countless fragments.

The entire process was recorded as raw data to be turned over to the staff section for analysis, allowing for a comprehensive assessment of the Ancient Legion's warship capabilities. The footage would then be slightly edited and submitted to the relevant departments as evidence of eliminating one Triceratops. This evidence was valued at one billion credits. Although Trann Corporation had already become extremely wealthy by registering several patents for minor unrelated technologies, a billion was still a significant sum. (Please recommend!)
