As the massive force of the spell struck the walls of Tianlong City, the tremendous power caused the entire fortress structure to shake violently. Fortunately, once the power of the Forbidden Spell encountered the Blue Demon Barrier, much of its force was immediately nullified. Furthermore, as Tianlong City was the premier metropolis on the continent, its walls were inherently far more robust and solidly built than those of lesser cities, so after a brief tremor, they quickly returned to normal.
Once the dust suspended in the air finally settled, everyone rushed toward the location where the barrier had stood, their eyes fixed on the aftermath. Upon witnessing the consequences wrought by the Forbidden Spell, all present were stunned into silence by its immense destructive force. Where the barrier had once stood, the very earth had collapsed, forming a colossal pit hundreds of square meters across, resembling an artificially created lake that had suddenly materialized.
Moreover, due to the extreme heat generated by the spell, the surface layer of the exposed earth was scorched black, still emitting wisps of scalding vapor. Within the entire radius of the Forbidden Spell’s impact, not a single living thing could be found; under such devastating power, no creature could possibly have survived.
This devastation was the result after the Blue Demon Barrier had already blunted more than half of the Forbidden Spell’s power. Had the spell struck without the weakening effect of the barrier, it was feared that even Tianlong City itself would have suffered grievous damage.
Truly, the might of these ancient Forbidden Spells was incomparable to that of common enchantments.
Meanwhile, atop the walls of Tianlong City, the soldiers and mages of the Tianlong Empire erupted in cheers upon seeing the magic barrier of the Molong Clan shattered by Mo Han. However, the Molong Warriors immediately ceased their engagement with the human warriors, urgently flying towards the massive crater caused by the spell, desperately seeking news of their Young Clan Leader.
If anything untoward were to happen to the Young Clan Leader under their watch, it was understood that these Molong Warriors would likely all be executed to accompany him in death.
Just at that moment, however, the Young Clan Leader of the Molong Clan was spotted flying back from a distance, looking utterly dishevelled. Trailing behind him were several of his Molong Warrior retainers.
Every one of them had torn clothing and carried expressions of utter distress. It turned out that at the instant the Forbidden Spell impacted the Blue Demon Barrier, the Young Clan Leader sensed disaster, realizing the barrier could not possibly withstand the overwhelming power of this ancient curse. In haste, he managed to gather his few subordinates, summoning all their strength, and utilized the precious moments afforded by the Blue Demon Barrier to flee.
They escaped the range of both the barrier and the spell.
Yet, because the spell's power was so incredibly ferocious, they were still brushed by its residual energy, failing to evacuate the full blast radius completely; hence their battered appearance.
However, two members of the Molong Clan had reacted too slowly and couldn't escape in time; their demise was likely certain. Even the Dragon Clan itself, if caught by such a Forbidden Spell, would stand no chance of resisting it.
As for the mages they had brought along from the two Great Empires, they were utterly annihilated; it was presumed that no one could have survived the sheer, astonishing power of that spell—not even a Dragon. It was certainly impossible for ordinary mages, whose resistance was far less than that of the Dragon Clan.
The Young Clan Leader of the Molong Clan now stared towards Tianlong City with a face ashen and grim, a hint of bloodlust flickering in his eyes. However, his distress was not born of sorrow for the lost mages; rather, it stemmed from the humiliation of being routed so thoroughly by the Humans, whom they had always regarded as inferior, despite being the Young Clan Leader of the proud Molong Clan. This supposed surefire victory had ended in such utter disgrace, filling him with incandescent rage.
The Young Clan Leader ground his teeth and finally spoke, his voice laced with venom: "All Molong Warriors, listen to me. Annihilate every single Human in Tianlong City—leave no one alive. I will show these ignorant fools the horrifying price of provoking me."
Upon hearing their Young Lord’s command, a strange light ignited on the bodies of the Molong Warriors, and they swiftly reverted to their true forms. Instantly, more than a dozen colossal dragons materialized in the sky far above Tianlong City.
Seeing this spectacle, the celebrating soldiers and mages of Tianlong City fell silent. Mo Han and Long Gufan, too, wore expressions of profound seriousness, for they understood exactly what power those dozen black dragons represented. Even a stronghold as mighty as Tianlong City stood no chance of emerging intact under the assault of more than ten true dragons; it was likely that the entire city would be razed to flat ground.
At this critical juncture, Long Gufan urgently addressed the guards behind him: "We will hold these Black Dragons here. You immediately notify the Emperor and ensure his safe evacuation. First, escort the Emperor to Feiji City to rendezvous with General Murong. As long as the wood remains, there is hope for fire. Also, open the East Gate immediately and direct all citizens to evacuate the city as quickly as possible."
Long Gufan issued these commands methodically, and the personal guards behind him swiftly dispersed to execute his orders.
Hearing Long Gufan's words, Mo Han offered a wry smile: "I never thought our luck would be so good as to encounter this many true Dragons at once. Usually, we’d be lucky to see even one; encountering a dozen is better than winning the Six Harmonies Lottery."
Long Gufan didn't fully grasp what Mo Han meant by the "Six Harmonies Lottery," but he understood the general sentiment. He sighed deeply and replied, "I wonder what transgression our Tianlong Empire has committed to draw such a calamity upon us—first besieged by the two Great Empires, and now inexplicably provoking the Dragon Clan. Is the destiny of Tianlong Empire truly at its end?"
Seeing his distress, Mo Han sought to comfort him: "Actually, the siege by the two Great Empires was covertly instigated by these Molong people. Thus, regardless of the outcome, these Molong will inevitably appear. Why lose heart, Your Highness? Besides, we may not lose. I refuse to believe these Dragons possess three heads and six arms."
Hearing Mo Han, a hint of a smile finally touched Long Gufan’s face. He turned and addressed the surrounding soldiers in a loud voice: "Duke Mo Han speaks the truth; we are not guaranteed to lose. Our Tianlong Empire has never feared anything, the Dragon Clan included! Tianlong Empire only possesses brave warriors, not cowardly runners! Are you willing to be heroes, or are you willing to be cowards? Answer me!"
In response to Long Gufan’s galvanizing words, the morale of the previously despondent Tianlong soldiers soared. Blood boiled with enthusiasm, and they began chanting "Tianlong Victorious!" repeatedly, their voices echoing throughout the entirety of Tianlong City.
Mo Han watched this, secretly admiring Long Gufan’s leadership. Under such disadvantageous circumstances, a few mere sentences had effortlessly elevated the collapsed morale to a new peak. He was indeed a natural-born leader blessed with imperial blood; Mo Han admitted he couldn't have managed such a feat with the same assurance.
At that moment, Mo Han leaned in and whispered to Long Gufan, "The only solace, Your Highness, is that these Molong seem incapable of using Draconic Language Magic. If they were to unleash Dragon Spells, we would truly have no chance whatsoever. If that is the case, we still possess a sliver of hope."
Long Gufan nodded, acknowledging the observation. "I noticed that as well. If those Dragons had collectively cast a few Dragon Language Spells just now, we would have been finished long ago. Does Duke Mo Han have any other proposals?"
Mo Han paused in thought, then offered: "Your Highness, instruct the high-tier Warriors to engage these Black Dragons individually and avoid clustering together. The low-tier Mages should focus on casting beneficial augmentation spells upon the Warriors to enhance their capabilities. As for the high-tier Mages, they should concentrate on unleashing potent single-target attack magic, aiming specifically for the Black Dragons' eyes. I imagine that no matter how formidable these Dragons are, their eyes cannot possibly possess the same resilience as the rest of their bodies. Oh, and instruct the high-tier Warriors to seek opportunities to strike the Dragons’ eyes as well."
Although Mo Han possessed no direct knowledge of the Dragon Clan’s specific weaknesses, he reasoned that no matter how powerful a creature, its eyes were inevitably less robust than other physical organs. This formed the basis for designating the eyes as the primary target for the mages’ assaults.
Long Gufan absorbed Mo Han’s analysis and nodded, quickly relaying the suggestions to his subordinates. The Molong Clan members, already transformed into Black Dragons, watched Mo Han and the others below with cold indifference, not rushing their attack. In their view, the humans below were already doomed, so there was no need for haste; they preferred to observe how Mo Han and his forces intended to face their inevitable destruction, never truly believing the humans below could defeat them.
At this moment, however, the Young Clan Leader of the Molong Clan—the only one who had not yet transformed—suddenly changed expression, his face contorting in alarm. The massive Black Dragons beside him began to shift restlessly. One of the Black Dragons spoke, its voice booming: "Young Clan Leader, did you sense that too? I detect several powerful auras moving toward our position—it feels like the Saint Dragon Clan is approaching. What should we do? Should we still proceed with the attack?"
