Could this Thunder Beast be trying to conceal itself this way? But if so, how would it see where I am? Mo Han wondered secretly, yet he dared not relax in the slightest. Focusing his vigilance, he cast the Floating Spell, hovering in mid-air, slowly drifting toward the location of the large pit.
Just as he neared his target, he heard the Thunder Beast suddenly roar in fury. Immediately, Mo Han saw countless stones and clumps of earth hurtling rapidly toward him in the sky. In an instant, the air was filled with stones, saturating the space around Mo Han. Alarmed, Mo Han had no time to dodge; he could only push the energy of his protective shield to its absolute limit, enduring this long-prepared strike from the Thunder Beast.
The stones, driven by the Thunder Beast’s immense power, struck with tremendous force, causing Mo Han’s protective barrier to clang loudly and shake violently. Mo Han inwardly breathed a sigh of relief. Fortunately, his magical cultivation had improved; had he relied on the magic barrier he could cast previously, he would never have been able to fully withstand the impact of these powerful stones and would surely have been injured.
However, Mo Han was also furious. He hadn't expected the Thunder Beast to resort to such a maneuver. Even though he wasn't hurt, he was knocked back a considerable distance, barrier and all, leaving him quite disheveled.
At that very moment, Mo Han distinctly sensed another intense magical fluctuation emanating from the Thunder Beast’s direction. Clearly, after successfully repelling Mo Han with a single blow, the creature was preparing to unleash higher-tier magic against him.
Seeing this, Mo Han knew it was too late to intervene and could only focus on defense. He began to chant in a low voice: “Shining radiance, please grant your sanctuary to this helpless one. All external evils shall vanish into nothingness. Under the protection of great glory, all power shall be nullified. Appear! — ‘Holy Light Barrier.’”
A faint white barrier instantly manifested around Mo Han.
What Mo Han was casting was the most formidable of the Light-elemental magics: the ‘Holy Light Barrier.’
With Mo Han's current cultivation as a Saint Magister, casting such spells was naturally effortless, and his casting speed was astonishingly swift; he finalized the Holy Light Barrier in just a few moments.
If Shui Ling’er were present, she would surely be staggered, for Mo Han’s casting speed had surpassed their wildest expectations. Even the Pope of Light might not be able to cast the ‘Holy Light Barrier’ as quickly as Mo Han.
No sooner had Mo Han finished his casting than the Thunder Beast’s magic was also complete.
Innumerable bolts of lightning, under the Thunder Beast’s control, surged madly toward Mo Han, who was protected within the Holy Light Barrier. A brilliant flash erupted as the lightning struck the barrier, only to be completely blocked by the barrier's immense energy, unable to harm Mo Han within.
The Thunder Beast was enraged by this failure and immediately unleashed another wave of lightning, even denser than the last, surging furiously toward the Holy Light Barrier.
The barrier flickered with intense light under the bombardment but still failed to inflict any effective damage on Mo Han inside.
Then, the third wave, even more concentrated, struck without the slightest pause between attacks.
Protected within the barrier, Mo Han, however, was inwardly astonished. It seemed the Thunder Beast had held back its full strength during their previous battle. Both the quantity and potency of these lightning strikes were significantly greater than before.
The Holy Light Barrier shimmered with dazzling white light. This creature’s strength was truly monstrous! It seemed these were the Thunder Beast’s true capabilities.
Mo Han couldn't help but groan inwardly. While the Holy Light Barrier seemed stable for the moment, Mo Han knew very well that under such extensive bombardment from the Thunder Beast, the barrier's energy was already severely depleted. If the creature continued to intensify its assault, the barrier would be in jeopardy; its collapse was only a matter of time.
But this time, the Thunder Beast seemed utterly determined, roaring as if it would never cease until Mo Han was defeated. The white light emanating from its body flickered incessantly, clearly indicating it was exerting its utmost power. Relying on the inherent advantage of a magical beast's intrinsic magical energy, it launched continuous lightning attacks, giving Mo Han no chance to catch his breath. Under wave after wave of intense assault, the light of the Holy Light Barrier began to fade gradually. Yet, the Thunder Beast’s breathing was also becoming labored; such sustained, large-scale, high-intensity attacks clearly consumed a staggering amount of magical energy.
Although the Thunder Beast was a Rank Ten magical beast, possessing innate superiority in controlling and harnessing Electric elemental magic, it could not sustain such enormous magical expenditure, and its attacks gradually slowed. Inside the barrier, Mo Han’s forehead was slick with sweat, his entire body drenched. Facing these formidable strikes, which bordered on Forbidden Curses, Mo Han was forced to channel all his magical energy constantly into the Holy Light Barrier to reinforce its power. Otherwise, given the attack's power and frequency, the barrier would have been shattered by the lightning long ago.
This had become a contest of attrition: either the Thunder Beast would exhaust its energy and lose, or Mo Han’s Holy Light Barrier would break first, leading to his defeat. It depended on who could hold out the longest.
Just then, the Thunder Beast let out a full-strength, earth-shattering roar that echoed through the space. Immediately, the magical fluctuations around the creature’s horns grew increasingly violent; clearly, the Thunder Beast was preparing a final, ultimate strike. Seeing this, Mo Han dared not relax and quickly gathered all his magic, continuously injecting it into the Holy Light Barrier to boost its energy reserves. Just as Mo Han finished preparing, a colossal lightning bolt, five meters thick, descended from the sky, striking precisely upon Mo Han’s Holy Light Barrier.
Instantly, the entire barrier erupted in an intensely dazzling light that illuminated the whole battlefield. Mo Han’s body was completely obscured by the blinding radiance, his condition impossible to discern. After unleashing this attack, the Thunder Beast collapsed weakly onto the ground, its body spent; clearly, that final strike had exhausted all its energy, leaving it utterly powerless.
