The Elemental Spirit spoke slowly, "Moreover, the flames of war that time also swept over other races. Both our Elven race and the Beast race suffered heavy losses. It truly was a river of blood back then. Ah, when it comes down to it, it’s due to the inherent flaw of you humans. Once you gain power, humanity is never content to stay in one place, always thinking of how to rule and conquer the continent. As a result, whenever war breaks out, countless lives are lost needlessly, yet in the end, no single nation ever succeeds. It’s a pity that you humans never learn your lesson, still stubbornly persistent. Otherwise, following the original pace of development, you humans should have already reached another apex by now, and the strongest race on this continent should have been you, not the Nether Race you fear so much."
Mo Han could only offer an awkward smile upon hearing this, as everything the Elemental Spirit said was the undeniable truth. Historically, in any world, as soon as humans became powerful, they invariably sought to dominate the entire continent; this was an intrinsic human failing, impossible to alter.
Just then, the Elemental Spirit continued, "I tell you all this in the hope that you can understand. When you one day become a true powerhouse, you must prevent such things from happening again—do not allow the tragedies of the past to be repeated, making countless civilians victims. I also believe you are capable of becoming the continent's first Archmage. By then, these responsibilities will fall to you, do you understand?" Mo Han nodded solemnly and replied, "Please rest assured, Senior. For as long as I live, Mo Han will exert every effort and absolutely not allow the former tragedies to recur. This is all I can promise; I hope you can understand."
What Mo Han said was also the truth; a human life is so brief, like the fleeting bloom of an Epiphyllum. He could only do his best while alive; who could guarantee what would happen in the future? After all, he could not force every single person to be like him.
The Elemental Spirits sounded pleased upon hearing Mo Han's reply. "We are already very satisfied that you are willing to do this. Alright, we have done all we can for you. From here on, it is up to your diligent cultivation to raise your power level. Since the advanced magic incantations you know are few and do not match your cultivation, we will now impart some of the advanced incantations we know to you. You must commit them carefully to memory. Once you have memorized them well, we will send you out."
Mo Han immediately nodded in assent, eagerly preparing to absorb the incantations the Elemental Spirits were about to transmit. At that moment, a brilliant light rose from before the Elemental Spirits and slowly drifted toward Mo Han. It then submerged into the top of Mo Han's head. Immediately, Mo Han sensed line after line of incantations resonating in his mind and diligently committed them to memory. However, the sheer number of incantations was immense; even with Mo Han's talent for magic, it took several repetitions before he had fully grasped every spell.
Uncertain how much time had passed, when Mo Han finally awoke, the sky was completely dark. The multicolored radiance emanating from the Elemental Spirits floated nearby, illuminating the surrounding scenery.
At this point, the Elemental Spirit spoke, "You're awake. I thought you wouldn't finish memorizing all the spells until dawn. I didn't expect you to wake up so early. How was it? Did you commit all the incantations to memory?" Mo Han quickly nodded, "I have memorized everything. Thank you for your guidance, Senior. Mo Han will never forget it."
After speaking, he turned and bowed deeply. After all, these Elemental Spirits could be considered his second set of mentors. Mo Xiu Yi had led him into the foundational world of magic, while these Elemental Spirits before him were guiding Mo Han toward a higher plane. Without their help, he didn't know how long he would have remained stuck at the Archmage realm. Moreover, without them, he would not have grasped the true essence of magic so quickly, which was crucial for his future development—it saved him from taking countless detours. Thus, Mo Han offered his heartfelt gratitude.
Seeing Mo Han's action, the Elemental Spirit said, "We told you, teaching you these things came with conditions, so you owe us nothing, do you understand? Get up."
Mo Han rose and replied gratefully, "The guidance of you Seniors has done Mo Han an immeasurable service. These things will be immensely important for my future. Therefore, no matter what you require, Mo Han will certainly fulfill it. Please command me."
The Elemental Spirit chuckled lightly, "Actually, our condition is very simple: we only hope that you will take Little Lei out with you and travel the continent together. This poor child has been confined within this barrier for countless ages; he is nearly stifled to death. It's time he went out to see the world."
Mo Han never imagined the Elemental Spirits' condition would be this. He was momentarily stunned. Thinking about having to wander around the roads all day with this giant creature, he feared it would frighten everyone away. Furthermore, its name was simply too awkward! But since the Elemental Spirits proposed it, he had no choice but to agree. Compared to the immense help they had given him, his compliance seemed trivial. Besides, having a Level Ten Thunder Beast alongside him was likely more beneficial than harmful; the Elemental Spirits had, in a way, helped him again.
Considering this, Mo Han quickly spoke respectfully, "Please rest assured, Senior. Mo Han will take excellent care of Lit—Little Lei, and will certainly treat him as a friend. However, may I ask one question?" When saying the Thunder Beast's name, Mo Han still felt distinctly uncomfortable, causing him to pause slightly.
Hearing Mo Han's request, the Elemental Spirit asked, "What question? Go ahead." Mo Han quickly spoke, "I was wondering if the Thunder Beast’s name could be changed. Calling him Little Lei when we go out doesn't seem fitting for a Thunder Beast's status. Could you Seniors perhaps think of a more imposing name for him?" Upon hearing Mo Han's words, the Elemental Spirit laughed heartily, "Of course, we can. We gave him that name casually while we were inside and never considered the implications. Why don't you name him anew? That would be more convenient for everyone."
