And just as Mo Han’s magic reached completion, a sharp cry escaped him: "Ice, Snow, and Desolation!" It was a ninth-level Water Element spell, its power nearly that of a forbidden curse. Normally, given Mo Han’s strength, casting a ninth-level spell so quickly would be impossible. However, aided by the 'Divine Artifact, the Holy Dragon Staff,' and propelled by the magic elements in this space—which were many times richer than in the outside world—Mo Han managed to unleash it smoothly.
Under the effect of 'Ice, Snow, and Desolation,' the air around the Thunder Beast plummeted instantly. The beast, which had been charging towards Mo Han, was caught entirely off guard and instantly frozen into a block of ice. Seeing this, Mo Han was inwardly thrilled, silently praising his own reaction speed. In such a short span, Mo Han had seamlessly combined several different types of magic—including Wind, Earth, and Water—and the flawless coordination between these spells immediately succeeded in trapping the tenth-level magical beast.
Yet, across the entire Dragon Rising Continent, perhaps only Mo Han, as an all-elemental mage, possessed this capability. Any other mage encountering the Thunder Beast, even a Grand Magus, would likely only have the option to flee for their lives, as no one else could cast several different elemental spells simultaneously like Mo Han could.
Just as Mo Han was basking in his success.
He suddenly heard the voice of the Elemental Spirit from earlier echo out: "Kid, well done. You know how to consecutively coordinate several different elemental spells; it proves your magical talent is indeed considerable. We truly underestimated you."
A hint of admiration permeated the tone.
Just as Mo Han was about to offer his thanks, he heard the voice continue: "But if you think the Thunder Beast is that easy to handle, then you are mistaken. The only reason it suffered such a significant loss just now is that it had never encountered an all-elemental mage like you before and was caught completely unprepared. When it is on guard next time, victory will not be so easily attained."
The Elemental Spirit's words had barely settled.
Mo Han heard the sound of ice cracking, and then observed that several fissures began to appear on the surface of the massive ice block that enveloped the Thunder Beast. These cracks grew larger and more numerous, soon spreading across the entire ice formation. Mo Han watched, secretly astonished.
This Thunder Beast’s strength was too monstrous. His magic was broken so quickly! Mo Han had initially estimated it would be held for at least a little while longer; now, it was breaking free in less than five minutes.
Indeed, with a deafening CRACK, the entire ice block confining the Thunder Beast shattered and scattered, revealing the beast’s form once more.
Having broken free of Mo Han’s confinement, the Thunder Beast immediately began searching for him. Upon spotting Mo Han.
The Thunder Beast let out a furious roar, and immediately, an intense white light began to emanate from its entire body. Mo Han distinctly felt the magic elements in the air frantically converging around the beast. It was clear the Thunder Beast was truly enraged and preparing to unleash its full power.
Seeing this, Mo Han dared not hesitate and hastily cast several Ice Blades, hoping to interrupt the Thunder Beast’s spellcasting.
However, as the Ice Blades approached the perimeter of the Thunder Beast.
They were melted away by the intense white light surrounding the creature, rendering them completely ineffective. Clearly, the white light surrounding the Thunder Beast was a form of magical barrier, designed for its protection, and not something ordinary magic could shatter.
Meanwhile, the magic elements around the Thunder Beast grew denser. It was evident that within this element-rich field, the casting time for any spell would be shortened, and that applied to the Thunder Beast as well.
Mo Han dared not delay. He rapidly wove several layers of protective barriers of different elements around himself. Since Mo Han was unsure which type of barrier would be most effective against electrical attacks, he applied every kind he knew. Instantly, his body was shrouded in a multi-colored radiance.
As soon as Mo Han finished constructing his barriers, the Thunder Beast’s ultimate magic was complete. A vast expanse of the sky above Mo Han was suddenly obscured by dark clouds, the entire atmosphere becoming oppressive, with intermittent flashes of lightning visible in the cloud cover—testament to the astonishing power of the spell underway.
The Thunder Beast suddenly shrieked, and then countless bolts of lightning, thick as a man’s arm, descended from the sky, surging directly toward the spot where Mo Han stood. It was a massive area-of-effect lightning spell. Perhaps the beast realized that Mo Han had managed to dodge its previous lightning strikes through nimble movement, so it resorted to this tactic, effectively blocking off every escape route around Mo Han.
Witnessing this, Mo Han was startled by the sheer scale and destructive potential of the lightning. If he were struck by these bolts, he’d surely be having dinner with the King of Hell soon. Realizing this, it was already too late to evade; lightning filled the area above his head, leaving nowhere to run. In the blink of an eye, several bolts struck Mo Han accurately. A flash of light erupted, and the outermost layer of the protective barrier Mo Han had erected was instantly shattered by the lightning. Mo Han clearly felt a powerful pressure bearing down on him, almost making it impossible to remain standing.
It must be noted that the barriers Mo Han had placed were bolstered by the power of the ‘Holy Dragon Staff,’ ensuring their resilience surpassed any barrier he usually cast. Mo Han was supremely confident that these barriers could withstand any magic below the ninth level, yet against this lightning, less than one exchange was needed to shatter the first layer. This demonstrated just how freakishly powerful the lightning was.
Before Mo Han could catch his breath, the second wave of lightning arrived, immediately crushing his second layer of protection. But the lightning seemed endless; as soon as the second wave subsided, the third crashed down—offering Mo Han absolutely no respite.
Mo Han inwardly cried out in distress. At this rate, two more waves, and all the barriers he had erected would be destroyed. And given how monstrous this lightning was, who knew how many more waves were coming?
