Mo Han heard this and let out a cold laugh, "When did the Elder's wisdom become so low? It’s truly astonishing."
When Lu Yi heard Mo Han insult him, his face darkened, and he spoke coldly, "What did you say? You dare insult an Elder of our Elven race? You clearly..."
"Nonsense, stop putting such high airs on yourself."
Mo Han cut off Lu Yi, saying chillingly, "Are you trying to imply I don't take your Elven race seriously? Please use that pig's brain of yours and think: why is this a question everyone can grasp, yet you fail to? Never mind my relationship with Anna for a moment. If I were truly responsible, would I have rushed over to tell you about the Nether race invasion, claiming it endangered the Princess, thereby sabotaging my own scheme? This is something anyone could figure out, but you missed it. I don't know if you've suddenly become dense, or if you said this deliberately to mislead everyone. I assume the respected Elder wouldn't intentionally mislead us, which leaves only one possibility: am I wrong?" Hearing Mo Han’s words, Lu Yi’s face flushed crimson, yet every word Mo Han spoke was logical, leaving him no room to refute. He had indeed just disliked Mo Han and impulsively struck out at him, only to have Mo Han seize on his logical gap to strike back.
He felt utterly wronged but had no recourse.
When the Elven Queen and Airy heard Mo Han speak, they both smiled, clearly enjoying Lu Yi's current expression. Thus, they merely looked coldly at Lu Yi without speaking.
"Furthermore, regarding the identity of the inside agent, unfortunately, I happen to have figured that out too. Someone just happened to witness this agent meeting with members of the Nether race."
Mo Han continued his startling pronouncements without pause.
Upon hearing this, everyone fixed their gaze on Mo Han, eager to hear what astonishing statement he would make next.
A flicker of unnatural emotion crossed Lu Yi's face.
But it quickly returned to normal.
Then Airy spoke curiously, "Oh? Who is it? Little Brother Mo Han, speak quickly. If I find out who it is, I swear I will be the first to kill them with my own hands."
Mo Han smiled upon hearing this, "Coincidentally, this person is currently inside our hall. And their status is not low; they are also an Elven Elder."
As Mo Han finished speaking, all the elves in the hall began to murmur amongst themselves.
Mo Han, meanwhile, kept smiling, his gaze fixed steadily on Lu Yi, making it perfectly clear: Lu Yi was the Nether race's inside agent.
Seeing this, Lu Yi cried out in great agitation, "Don't smear me with baseless accusations! I spent the entire night patrolling the Elven Forest, as you all witnessed. How could I be colluding with the Nether race? Do you have any proof?"
"What about before that? Where was the Elder? Can anyone vouch for him?" Mo Han asked, unhurried.
Lu Yi glanced at the Elven Queen, seeing no reaction from her. Clearly, Mo Han’s actions had the Queen’s tacit approval. He could only calm himself and say, "Before then, I never left my quarters. That’s when I encountered the conflict between you and the Elven guards. Haven't I already explained this?"
Mo Han nodded, as if this was entirely expected. "In your room, is that right? What if I could prove you're lying?" With that, he calmly clapped his hands. Terimo, who had been standing beside the Queen, hesitated for a moment before speaking, "Before the Princess vanished, I unintentionally saw Elder Lu Yi talking with a mysterious figure in the southern dense forest. I didn't think much of it then; I assumed he was Lu Yi's friend, so I left without paying it much mind. Thus, Elder Lu Yi did not see me at the time."
Hearing Terimo’s words, everyone in the hall turned their suspicious gazes toward Lu Yi, including the two Elven Elders standing beside him. An immediate buzz of discussion erupted. If someone else had said it, they might not have believed it, but what came from Terimo's mouth was different. Given Terimo's standing, he clearly had no need to lie and frame Lu Yi.
"What else do you have to say?" Mo Han looked at Lu Yi and stated flatly, "You planned so well, but you never expected your movements would be discovered by Commander Terimo. This is what they call 'Man proposes, God disposes.'"
Lu Yi, seeing the situation, said anxiously, "I remember now! I was feeling uneasy, so I went to patrol the southern forest. But I inadvertently discovered a human who had strayed into the Elven territory. Seeing he was harmless, I didn't want him to die needlessly, so I went out out of kindness. Even so, that doesn't prove I was working in league with the Nether race, does it?"
Mo Han turned to Terimo and asked, "Commander Terimo, did you overhear what they were discussing at the time?"
This time, Terimo was very direct. "It was too far, I didn't hear clearly. I only seemed to catch something about a 'General?' and asking if the task was done? I left after that, so I'm not certain about the rest."
Hearing Terimo, Lu Yi roared furiously, "You're lying! The Nether General was already wounded by the Church of Light's banishment needles in Sky Dragon City; how could he possibly be in the Elven Forest? You..." Lu Yi seemed to realize he had spoken out of turn and quickly stopped himself, but his face had already turned pale.
Mo Han smiled and spoke, "It seems Elder Lu Yi knows quite a bit. You even know the Nether General was wounded by banishment needles in Sky Dragon City. That incident was the highest state secret of the Sky Dragon Empire. Even the court officials at the time were unaware; they only knew the Emperor had faced an assassin who was killed on the spot. The assassin's identity was never publicly disclosed; only a select few knew. How did the Elder learn this secret?"
Lu Yi, at this moment, seemed to grasp something, and he spoke bitterly, "Boy, you were bluffing me the whole time, weren't you? Terimo never went to the southern dense forest, and he couldn't possibly have met me. Everything was your conspiracy, wasn't it? Everything you did was to force me to confess!"
Mo Han did not deny it and replied, "You aren't so slow after all. You finally figured it out. Yes, Commander Terimo was in his quarters the entire time; how could he have gone to the southern dense forest? Naturally, he didn't meet you. These things were all said by you yourself."
Lu Yi spoke, unwilling to accept it, "But how did you know the Nether race would meet me in the southern dense forest? Was that also just a wild guess?"
Mo Han smiled and shook his head, saying, "That wasn't a guess; I had a basis for it. Firstly, the Elven hidden sentries protecting Anna change positions periodically to enhance security. Therefore, you couldn't have given the Nether race the precise locations of those guards in advance. You could only use the excuse of patrolling to scout the exact positions of the Elven guards, and while you were there, remove the protective barrier around Anna's chamber. Then, at the right moment, you could inform that Nether race member of the exact locations of those hidden sentries, allowing that Nether individual to kill all the guards surrounding Anna's room. That way, no one would know you had ever been near Anna's residence."
Lu Yi asked curiously, "Then how did you know all of this? Why didn't you say so earlier?"
Mo Han shook his head and replied, "You could call it fate. After you left, an Elven guard happened to feel unwell at that exact time and went to Terimo to request a replacement. Thus, he narrowly escaped danger, and it was from him that we learned you had been near Anna's quarters. As for why I didn't reveal it earlier? The reason is simple: that evidence couldn't prove you were colluding with the Nether race. It is perfectly normal for an Elven Elder to inspect the safety of the guards outside the Princess's chamber. If I had revealed it, you could simply have claimed you had too many duties and forgot, and we would have had no way to hold you accountable. Revealing that was useless; it couldn't convict you. It was better to devise a way to make you confess yourself."
Mo Han continued, smiling, "Although we had already suspected you were the Nether race's inside agent, we had no proof. So, I consulted with Her Majesty the Queen, and we arranged for Commander Terimo to pretend he saw you, thereby luring you into a trap to admit to meeting with the Nether race. Wouldn't that be better?"
At this point, Lu Yi asked, "But why did you need Commander Terimo to frame me?"
Mo Han laughed at this question. "As for why Commander Terimo was chosen, it is because only words spoken by someone of his status would carry sufficient credibility and manage to deceive you. If it had been an ordinary person, it probably wouldn't have had the same effect. In the end, you finally took the bait. You should know that convincing Commander Terimo was no easy task. Everyone knows he detests lying, which is why you and everyone else believed his words implicitly, allowing us to gamble on this move. Had you not confessed just now, I truly would have had no recourse against you."
After saying this, Mo Han patted his chest, signifying his narrow escape.
