They exchanged bewildered glances, none of them having any clue what had just transpired. They had only seen Solomon shoot out with a whoosh, landing on the ground and sliding back over ten meters. Nothing else registered!
Thank goodness this courtyard was large, otherwise, Solomon would have certainly crashed right through the buildings!
"Did I use too much force?" Zhong Shenxiu murmured to himself.
His soft words reached the ears of the others, sounding more like a damning blow, causing them all to stare at him as if he were a monster.
At this moment, Solomon painfully struggled to his feet. Thankfully, his resistance to impact was quite good, but even so, a searing heat still pulsed in his abdomen.
Solomon looked at Zhong Shenxiu with wide, terrified eyes. He still hadn't grasped how he was suddenly flung through the air, nor could he comprehend how Zhong Shenxiu had managed it!
"Hey, kid, weren't you just so arrogant? Why are you so fragile!" Zhong Shenxiu said, smacking his lips.
In that instant, Solomon felt as if he were being stared down by a demon, a chilling gust blowing straight out of his soul.
Zhong Shenxiu gave him no chance to recover, gripping his sword and advancing once more.
Solomon realized the gravity of the situation and quickly adopted a defensive posture, then stammered, "What... what did you just do to me?"
"Oh? You didn't see it clearly?" Zhong Shenxiu simply smiled again, then abruptly shifted his tone, "Then I'll slow down my movements!"
With that, Zhong Shenxiu blurred into an afterimage and charged at Solomon. When he was less than two meters away, his long sword suddenly swept sideways, using the flat of the blade to strike directly at Solomon's abdomen!
Solomon started, instantly realizing Zhong Shenxiu's intent, trying to block with his own sword, but he was a fraction too late...
Bang! Another dull thud echoed.
However, since Zhong Shenxiu's acceleration this time was not as extreme, the impact Solomon sustained was significantly less than the first. But even so, Solomon took a good moment to drag himself up from the ground; flesh still hurt when struck!
"How does that feel? Did you see it clearly this time? Should I slow down even more?" Zhong Shenxiu actually adopted an expression of kindly concern, which sent shivers down the spine of anyone who saw it!
From the sidelines, Elina watched Zhong Shenxiu with a stunned gaze, the shock in her heart nearing its breaking point. She had taught at the 'Homebound Magic and Martial Academy' for several years and had seen her share of geniuses, but she had never witnessed someone as freakishly powerful as Zhong Shenxiu!
She simply could not accept that the elite student from their academy didn't even have the strength to counter-attack under Zhong Shenxiu's assault; it was utterly staggering!
At the same time, countless questions churned in her mind: Wasn't he supposed to be a Necromancer?
Angelia likely shared the same doubts. However, she was slightly better prepared than Elina, as she had previously heard from Robin that all her own skills had been taught by Zhong Shenxiu, granting her some foreknowledge that he might possess swordplay capabilities.
Is this his true power?
Angelia stared at Zhong Shenxiu's retreating back with a kind of rapt fixation. That effortless, seemingly light swing of the sword capable of shattering anything felt like an irresistible desire taking root and sprouting within her heart!
"Brother Solomon, are you alright?" Laurent also noticed Solomon's dire condition, realizing it was worse than his own predicament.
But in that fleeting instant of distraction, Robin's long sword swept over with a swish. Laurent instantly broke out in a cold sweat, ducking his head just enough to evade the lethal strike, but a layer of his hair was cleanly shorn off.
Had he reacted even a split second slower, it wouldn't just have been hair lost!
Laurent, having narrowly escaped, looked as pale as paper; he was now truly experiencing the terror of death!
Elina was also startled. She had clearly seen the moment Robin shaved off Laurent's hair and barely managed to stop herself from crying out. Even though her brother had survived, her heart hammered wildly!
"Stop, stop! Let this sparring session end here!" Elina cried out anxiously. She knew that if things were allowed to continue, something catastrophic would surely happen!
Laurent, deep down, had wanted to stop long ago, but Robin was following up with stroke after stroke, never giving him a chance to yield! He finally understood what a truly relentless opponent felt like!
What to do, what to do? Elina frantically searched for a solution, and just then, Solomon was once again blasted away by Zhong Shenxiu!
This guy is not human!!!
The moment Solomon crashed onto the ground, his mind finally reached that conclusion!
Too strong, overwhelmingly too strong!
In front of Zhong Shenxiu, Solomon was practically a newborn infant, to be toyed with as the other pleased!
"Where did your arrogance go? Where is your ultimate move? Oh, are you glaring at me because I haven't given you a chance to strike? Fine, I'll give you a chance to truly understand that you are essentially no different from trash!" After speaking, Zhong Shenxiu actually stood still, calmly waiting for Solomon to attack.
Solomon was still a man of vigor and blood. Despite knowing the vast gulf between himself and the current Zhong Shenxiu, he resolved to make one final stand. He needed to show this young boy that Solomon was not trash—not now, and not ever!
In an instant, Solomon pushed the Dou Qi within him to its absolute peak. He pinned all his hopes on this single blow; he didn't seek victory over Zhong Shenxiu, only validation for himself!
"Wind Wheel Slash!"
With a loud roar from Solomon, his entire body began to spin, faster and faster, until a miniature whirlwind erupted from the ground, enveloping his whole form!
"Oh?" Zhong Shenxiu let out another cold laugh, "Don't tell me that's your ultimate move; you've disappointed me greatly!"
As he spoke, Solomon lunged towards Zhong Shenxiu. The fierce momentum was as if countless sharp blades were whirling rapidly around his body.
This was the first time he had shifted from passive defense to outright offense; he had expended his absolute maximum effort!
Everyone held their breath (except for Robin and Laurent), their eyes locked on Solomon as he rushed toward Zhong Shenxiu; they knew this was the final confrontation!
Angelia also began to feel tense, astonished by the level of power Solomon could summon, yet simultaneously worried for the expressionless Zhong Shenxiu!
However, to everyone's utter surprise, facing Solomon's ferocious assault, Zhong Shenxiu merely let out a yawn and even turned his body away.
Had he gone mad?
At this moment, Solomon's long sword was about to connect, and just as Zhong Shenxiu seemed destined to be struck, something bizarre occurred...
