"You're a Necromancer?" Betty stared blankly at Robin, but immediately burst into laughter. "Hee-hee~~ You sure know how to joke, your big sister isn't completely clueless, you know!"
How could a Necromancer be this cute? Not only did Betty not believe it, even Angelia thought Robin was just kidding around.
"Your big sister has done research on 'Necromancers,' you can't fool me!" Betty added smugly.
Sigh! It hadn't even been that long, and Betty was already calling herself "big sister." She certainly made herself familiar quickly!
Robin wasn't angry at Betty’s disbelief, nor did she offer any defense. Instead, she picked up the book Betty had just given her and started reading!
Betty was startled again, not expecting this little girl to have such a unique personality; she was being so forward, yet Robin barely gave her any attention.
"Robin, are you interested in taking a stroll around the academy with your big sister? You're new here, so you must be unfamiliar with the place. Your sister is willing to be your free tour guide, how about it?" Betty leaned in close to Robin, asking with a wide smile. If she shifted just a bit closer, she’d probably be right up against Robin’s face.
Angelia, watching from the side, was utterly speechless. She didn't know what to say to Betty anymore. Who was Robin? How could she possibly agree to go anywhere with her? If it weren't for her Master's orders, inviting Robin here would be impossible!
"Little sister Robin, that's not very polite behavior!" Betty said, suddenly snatching the book right out of Robin's hands. "When your sister talks to you, you have to at least look at me, right?"
Angelia, who moments ago didn't know how to react to Betty, nearly had a heart attack from the sudden move. She thought to herself: My dear lady, you could provoke anyone else, but why choose her?
"Robin, don't mind her; that's just the way she is!" Angelia quickly interceded for Betty, genuinely afraid that Robin might lose her temper and kick her.
Angelia knew the sheer force behind a kick from Robin all too well. She was certain that if Robin truly kicked Betty, she would be sent flying out of this room—the kind of kick that sends you through the wall!
However, Robin didn't get angry. She merely rolled her eyes at Betty for a moment, then said, "Alright, I’ve looked at you now. Can I have my book back?"
The moment Robin said that, Betty was utterly stunned into silence! She stood there motionless, as if struck by lightning, not even registering that Robin had taken the book back from her grasp!
Heavens! How could a person like this exist in the world?
Angelia looked at Robin with a hint of astonishment. She felt that Robin right now was different from the person she thought she knew.
Could all of this be because of a few words spoken by that little boy?
Angelia couldn't explain why, but at that moment, she found herself thinking of Zhong Shenxiu—that mysterious little boy!
What kind of magic had that boy cast on her? Why did Robin listen to him so obediently?
Angelia was growing increasingly curious about Zhong Shenxiu! (A curious woman often falls so deep she can never pull herself out! Sigh...)
"Little sister Robin, what I said earlier, I didn't mean it quite like that."
For the first time, Betty experienced the frustration of trying to communicate with someone difficult. Little did she know, Angelia endured this exact feeling almost every day.
Hearing her words, Robin showed improvement this time, glancing at her, but still ignoring her, and returned to reading her book.
"Little sister Robin, being this aloof makes it very hard to get along with people," Betty said mournfully.
No one expected that as soon as she finished speaking, Robin would suddenly toss the book onto the table and stare intently at Betty.
This sudden turn of events startled Angelia greatly. She thought, Is Robin angry? This was no small matter!!
Betty was also staring blankly at Robin, unable to process what was happening, only able to meet Robin’s gaze dumbly!
Was Robin really angry? Far from it!
The reason for Robin’s action was that Betty’s sentence had struck a chord deep within her.
Robin had a mission: to learn how to interact with others. Hearing Betty say that, she naturally paid close attention!
"What should I do?" Robin asked Betty in an even tone.
"Huh?" Betty was still not reacting, just staring foolishly at Robin.
"What exactly must I do to learn 'getting along with people'?" Robin asked again.
"Huh??" This time, Betty understood what Robin meant, but she was somewhat disbelieving.
"Tell me!!!" Robin stared straight into Betty’s eyes.
"You really want to know?" Betty asked tentatively.
Robin nodded seriously.
In that moment, Betty felt life was so beautiful, so magical; she had unknowingly found the breakthrough point!
Putting on a serious expression (though inwardly she was already ecstatic), Betty spoke slowly, "This is very simple, but you must cooperate with me!" As she spoke, she didn't forget to observe Robin's expression.
"How do you need me to cooperate?" Robin actually took the bait.
"First, sit properly on my **," Betty said, pointing a hand towards her bed. She wanted to test the waters first, to see if Robin would truly cooperate with her.
Robin, truly guileless, actually walked toward the bed as Betty instructed.
Betty was ecstatic at this point; an indescribable sense of achievement surged through her!!
Meanwhile, Angelia watched the sudden turn of events with a dazed look. She truly couldn't accept that someone as formidable as Robin would fall for such a dimwitted trick from Betty. (Actually, Angelia didn't realize that she herself fell for some of Betty's foolish schemes quite often!)
Betty seemed to notice Angelia’s utterly crestfallen look, let out a "Hee-hee~" laugh, and even made a "Victory" sign, which gave Angelia a shiver of disgust!
Heavens! Have I really been sharing a room with someone like this for the past few years??? Angelia thought to herself.
Betty sat down next to Robin, a distinct look of smugness on her face. After a brief pause for thought, she said, "Now we begin in earnest. Remember to cooperate!"
Robin nodded lightly, looking somewhat expectant. Little did she know, Betty was even more expectant than she was!
"How old are you?" Betty certainly lived up to her reputation as a veteran, knowing to start with the basics.
"Seven," Robin replied flatly.
"What is your relationship with Angelia?" As Betty spoke, she couldn't resist shooting a triumphant glance towards Angelia, her meaning perfectly clear: See that? You wouldn't tell me, but I have my ways!
"No relationship!"
"No relationship?" Betty’s previously triumphant expression froze upon hearing that answer.
Robin glanced at Angelia, then added, "I don't know her!"
This answer was completely unexpected by Betty, who couldn't help but press, "Then why are you with her?"
"By my Master's command!" Her voice remained devoid of emotion.
"You... you have a Master?"
Betty shot up from the bed instantly, looking at Robin with unbelievable eyes.
