The scene before Zhong Shenxiu shifted, and countless multicolored rays of light, moving irregularly, appeared in his mind. Each ray was like a grandmaster demonstrating some profound technique, ethereal yet steeped in wonder!
Unwittingly, Zhong Shenxiu became completely captivated by these bizarre beams of light. Although such visions had appeared before, Zhong Shenxiu was certain: they were fundamentally different; they possessed a similar form but lacked the true essence!
What in the world was happening?
Why were these illusions reappearing in his mind? What connection did they have to him? What were they trying to tell him?
Burdened by these heavy questions, Zhong Shenxiu continued to observe the shifting light patterns, reasoning that he was unoccupied anyway.
As his focus intensified, his spiritual sense abruptly became startlingly clear, as if everything surrounding him was now within his grasp!
Zhong Shenxiu had experienced this sensation before; it only occurred when his Yuanshen (Primordial Spirit) left his body. But why now, when he was still physically present?
Before Zhong Shenxiu could make sense of the situation, he saw Robin returning from her outing. Although Robin's expression was calm now, the joy dancing in her eyes could not escape the perception of the present Zhong Shenxiu.
What good fortune had Robin encountered to make her so cheerful? Zhong Shenxiu felt intensely curious. However, as he was deep in meditation and currently unable to speak, he had to suppress the question.
He watched as Robin tiptoed over to his side, observed him for a long while, and then, with a hint of disappointment, went off to prepare dinner!
The look in Robin's eyes gave Zhong Shenxiu the impression that the little girl had matured somewhat!
Zhong Shenxiu found it strange; how could Robin seem to have grown up so much in a single day? Had letting her act independently been the right choice?
On this matter, Zhong Shenxiu was utterly perplexed! Despite his extensive research into countless esoteric subjects, he had never delved into the complexities of women!
Shifting his attention away from Robin, Zhong Shenxiu’s spiritual sense began to probe outward, beyond the confines of the room.
He wouldn't have believed it if he hadn't checked! Zhong Shenxiu was startled to discover that he could clearly perceive the pedestrians passing by on the street—so clearly, in fact, that he could discern every individual hair! And the most astonishing part was that this sight was not singular but collective. Every movement of everyone on the street was laid bare before Zhong Shenxiu’s eyes!
This was absolutely superior to a camera! A camera would need to pan and rotate to capture more images, and it invariably left blind spots!
What on earth was going on? I haven't performed Yuanshen Excursion, yet I can see everything so vividly?
This left Zhong Shenxiu baffled again. He couldn't comprehend how he could now multitask, and furthermore, observe the external world with such clarity merely through intent alone!
This was truly bizarre. Why would such strange phenomena manifest during what should have been a simple meditative absorption?
Could it be the effect of those lights? Zhong Shenxiu suddenly realized, and his curiosity regarding the multicolored rays intensified!
The mesmerizing lights were like the meridians within the human body: intricate and complex, yet perfectly ordered. Heaven, Earth, Man, Spirit, Ghost—it seemed, at this moment, they were threaded together by these rays, forming some underlying connection.
This was an epiphany, an awakening to the nature of all things, the vast expanse of the cosmos!
This profound sensation was so miraculous, so utterly captivating that one could not pull away!
As his concentration continued to coalesce, this feeling grew sharper, as if he could reach out and touch it with his hand. And what filled Zhong Shenxiu with wild elation was the sense that he had grasped another flash of inspiration, touched upon some fundamental truth!
Was Zhong Shenxiu about to invent some new wonder this time?
Forgetting to ponder the mechanics of it all, Zhong Shenxiu quickly dedicated his entire mind to experiencing and comprehending this deep truth. He knew precisely how precious such elusive moments of realization were!
Time flowed by, and the stars began to adorn the night sky with dazzling beauty!
By now, Robin had fallen asleep, a faint smile lingering on her face, perhaps dreaming of creating miracles with her master.
Zhong Shenxiu’s outward expression remained placid, betraying no change, yet his mind and spirit were immersed in the sensation of that subtle, profound intimacy.
It was truly astonishing: Zhong Shenxiu's original goal had been to refine the spiritual energy of the "Spirit Milk," but now the objective had shifted (the energy from the "Spirit Milk" had long been refined). He was now focused entirely on contemplating that subtle sensation!
Could this be…? Zhong Shenxiu seemed to have grasped something, and his heart couldn't help but race with excitement!
Were all these changes somehow stemming from the secret manual extorted from the Demon Sect?
Yes, that possibility was highly likely!
Zhong Shenxiu clearly recalled that it was because he deciphered this manual that he transmigrated to this other world; and it was also because of this manual that he began to experience these marvelous illusions. If all this were mere coincidence and unrelated to the manual, it would be too much of a stretch!
Suddenly, Zhong Shenxiu smiled.
He felt that he had obtained something monumental. Although he still didn't know the exact nature of these illusions, he was certain they were genuinely miraculous, capable of acting as a key, constantly unlocking the doors of inspiration for him!
Moreover, Zhong Shenxiu finally understood why he could focus on two things at once, and why he could see the outside world so clearly without his Yuanshen departing!
The root cause, it turned out, was the qualitative upgrade of his mental power!
The former mental power of Zhong Shenxiu was confined within his skull, but things were different now; now Zhong Shenxiu could project his mental power outward through mere intent.
If he had to describe it precisely, Zhong Shenxiu's mental power could no longer be termed simply "mental power"; it had evolved into "Mental Waves"!
Zhong Shenxiu offered a calm smile, never having expected such an unexpected gain from this meditation session—it had actually opened an entirely new field of research for him!
Although he was not yet entirely familiar with this wave sensation, Zhong Shenxiu possessed absolute confidence in developing and recreating based upon it.
Who was he? He was the "genius" who researched all manner of strange marvels!
Time slipped by quickly, and a whole night passed in a blink.
Setting aside Zhong Shenxiu’s complete absorption in comprehending inspiration, let's turn to Robin.
Robin rose very early, performed a quick wash, and headed toward the location agreed upon with Angelia—the Forest of Magical Beasts!
Compared to Robin, Angelia was far more animated, having barely slept all night, waiting eagerly at the rendezvous point!
For this appointment, Angelia had done the rare thing of preparing to skip classes!
In her anxious wait, she finally spotted Robin's small figure in the distance. Angelia’s heart inexplicably hammered faster, and her breathing grew shallow.
Though unsure how Robin would handle her next, Angelia’s face was alight with expectation!
