But to everyone’s utter astonishment, Robin didn't strike back at Solomon; instead, she stepped aside, maneuvering entirely around him!
What in the world was that all about?
Robin’s action clearly shocked Angelia. She couldn't fathom why the immensely powerful Robin would choose to yield. Was this the same little girl who had previously possessed an attitude of absolute self-assured dominance?
Why? Angelia was utterly unable to grasp the reason.
Solomon was also somewhat surprised. He hadn’t expected Robin to be so easy to handle; if he’d just been a bit tougher, she would have backed down!
Truthfully, Solomon was lucky today. If he had dared to block Zhong Shenxiu’s path, Robin would have surely kicked him so far he’d become a shooting star!
For Robin, such minor slights were tolerable; she was unwilling to cause trouble for her Master! Besides, it wasn't a major issue.
"This little girl is quite interesting!" Solomon remarked to Angelia, who had rushed forward only to freeze mid-stride.
Angelia shot him a look that suggested he was utterly clueless. "You are incredibly lucky!"
Solomon didn't understand the meaning behind her comment and was about to press for an explanation, but Angelia was already leaving, following the receding figure of Robin!
"What a strange pair of sisters," Solomon thought to himself, watching Angelia and Robin depart.
......
Meanwhile, Angelia herself couldn't decipher her own behavior. Why this intense fixation? Why did her heart still pound uncontrollably upon seeing the little girl again?
She saw Robin walking ahead, setting a steady, unhurried pace, while Angelia trailed behind, maintaining a careful distance.
It wasn't that Angelia lacked self-awareness; it was simply that she couldn't control the tempest raging in her chest at that moment!
Ahead, there appeared to be an alleyway, and Robin turned into it.
Seeing Robin vanish from sight, Angelia instantly grew anxious. She hurried several steps forward, but when she reached the alley's entrance, she froze rigid.
Robin was standing less than two meters away, staring directly at her!
For no discernible reason, Angelia’s heart rate spiked. She looked nervously at Robin, the girl so much younger than herself, and for a moment, she was struck dumb.
Neither spoke, yet neither broke eye contact. While such sustained gazing between a man and a woman might be understandable, this intense focus between two women felt distinctly peculiar.
"Why are you following me?" Robin suddenly broke the silence. Her voice wasn't exactly cold, but it was detached.
Robin had noticed Angelia shadowing her almost immediately after she started. If she hadn't noticed that, she wouldn't have spent so much time alongside Zhong Shenxiu. However, if the roles were reversed—if Robin were the one following Angelia—the outcome would certainly be different.
This was the disparity in strength; a gap in capability that dictated the final result!
Considering that Angelia might merely be heading in the same direction, Robin hadn't paid much mind initially. But as it continued, Robin realized Angelia was deliberately trailing her, prompting the direct question.
When questioned, Angelia stuttered and mumbled for a long time, unable to formulate a response.
She didn't know what had come over her. Usually, she was composed, yet near this little girl, she completely lost her equilibrium!
Angelia had considered pulling the same stunt as Solomon moments ago—claiming she was merely passing by. But she couldn't; she knew how flimsy and ridiculous that excuse sounded, something even a child would instantly recognize as a lie!
Robin’s eyes bored into Angelia, seemingly capable of piercing straight through to her soul, placing immense psychological pressure on her!
"Could... could you teach me swordsmanship?" Angelia finally asked, her voice laced with trepidation, summoning the greatest courage she possessed.
"No!" Robin replied with shocking swiftness, instantly extinguishing every flicker of hope Angelia held.
Angelia’s expression crumpled into profound disappointment. Though she tried to appear nonchalant, she couldn't manage it now.
Perhaps sensing that Angelia wasn't a bad person—and more importantly, because Zhong Shenxiu had spoken with her earlier—Robin maintained a relatively friendly demeanor toward her.
Seeing the raw disappointment on her face, Robin, uncharacteristically, offered an explanation: "I cannot teach anyone swordsmanship without my Master's permission!"
Angelia was clearly unprepared for Robin to offer a justification, staring at her blankly for a moment. In her perception, Robin was a reserved, quiet girl who spoke little. She never imagined Robin would bother to explain herself to her.
For some reason, the knot in Angelia's chest loosened. The tension receded, for she realized this little girl wasn't as icy as her outward demeanor suggested!
"Who is your Master? May I meet him?" Although a sliver of an answer had formed in her mind, Angelia still needed confirmation directly from Robin.
"You have met my Master," Robin stated calmly.
She was in such good spirits today that she was speaking volumes to Angelia. Normally, she would have already turned and left.
This, again, proved that the burgeoning, nascent stirrings within Robin’s innocent heart were beginning to awaken!
"Is it that boy who was standing next to you?" Angelia asked, already knowing the answer, intentionally omitting the word "little" to avoid provoking the girl.
Robin offered no verbal reply, only giving a slight nod.
Angelia seemed to relax further, regaining some of her usual composure. She then inquired, "By the way, why are you alone today?"
"My Master is in seclusion," Robin admitted without hesitation.
"Seclusion?" Angelia had evidently never encountered the term and couldn't process it.
Robin made no move to explain, simply stating, "You wouldn't understand even if I told you."
Angelia murmured an "Oh," letting the subject drop. She switched gears: "May I ask why you are so powerful? Who taught you your swordsmanship?"
While Robin’s facial expression remained unchanged, a flicker of pride crossed her eyes.
"If you followed my Master, you would be as powerful as I am!" Robin declared with immense pride. For her, Zhong Shenxiu was her glory and her boast! More than that, he was her entire world!!
Angelia paused, Robin's statement being somewhat ambiguous. Did this mean all her skill was taught by that young boy?
How was that possible?! Wasn't that boy a Necromancer?
