Mo Han cursed under his breath, “Damn it, what kind of grotesque tongue is that? Just a bit of slobber and it heals wounds—it’s practically on par with high-level healing magic. This thing is monstrously powerful.”

The colossal squid, having tended to its own injuries, fixed its enormous, malevolent eyes on Mo Han, wearing an expression that clearly communicated it wanted nothing more than to devour him instantly.

Seeing this, Mo Han felt a surge of answering fury. He was already bloodied and battered from the squid’s sneak attack, feeling utterly miserable, and now the creature dared to stare him down? His anger boiled over. Mo Han sneered at Xiao Mo, standing dutifully beside him, and spoke, “Xiao Mo, let’s teach this bastard who dared to ambush your boss a good lesson. Once we’re out of here, I’ll treat you to roast duck until you burst! Damn it, I’ve never taken such a beating before.”

Upon hearing Mo Han’s words, Xiao Mo seemed to grasp the intention. It let out a series of whimpers, as if vehemently agreeing with Mo Han’s proposal.

Mo Han couldn't help but smile at this. He said, “You want to eat? Then you better give me everything you’ve got, child. This fight won’t be easy; one wrong move and we’ll both end up as snacks for this giant beast.”

Hearing this, Xiao Mo vigorously nodded its massive head in understanding.

Mo Han wasted no more words. He instructed, “Watch out, don’t get stuck by those suckers. Once we close the distance, this squid will be nothing more than meat on the cutting board, ripe for us to carve up as we please.”

No sooner had Mo Han finished speaking than the squid initiated its assault. It brandished its tentacles and lunged swiftly toward the position where Mo Han and Xiao Mo stood.

Mo Han didn't hesitate. He shouted, “You keep it occupied! I’ll find a way to get close and put it down.”

With that, he flashed forward to meet the squid’s charge.

The squid saw Mo Han rushing towards it and seemed to understand his plan. It immediately whipped its eight shorter tentacles toward Mo Han in an attempt to entangle him, while its two longer appendages swung toward Xiao Mo.

But Mo Han wouldn't let it succeed. He pushed his movement technique to its absolute limit, rapidly dodging through the encirclement of the eight whipping tentacles while relentlessly closing the distance to the beast.

Seeing its attacks fail against Mo Han, the squid grew frantic. It let out a furious roar, and suddenly, the suckers attached to its tentacles simultaneously ejected a cloud of thick, inky black fluid toward Mo Han, instantly sealing off all his escape routes. Mo Han gasped in alarm, realizing this black spray must be venomous. He dared not be careless. He let out a sharp whistle, channeled his full power, and swung the Brightness Holy Sword rapidly, weaving a defensive ring of battle aura around himself. Simultaneously, he crushed a magic bead he had prepared, unleashing the stored high-level Water Element magic, the Azure Water Aegis, which instantly materialized as a shimmering barrier around him.

Most of the black fluid surging toward Mo Han was instantly vaporized by the sword aura he created. The few droplets that slipped through were blocked by the Azure Water Aegis barrier, unable to reach him. However, this repeated ambush infuriated Mo Han. Being repeatedly blindsided by the squid had filled him with pent-up rage—something that had never happened to him since his debut. With a furious shout, Mo Han leaped into the air, channeling his battle aura. The Brightness Holy Sword erupted with a blinding white light, ringed by four distinct white halos—evidence that in his anger, Mo Han had shattered the previous three-layer power restriction, achieving the fourth level of the Holy Sword’s might. Surrounding this radiance was a layer of deep blue battle aura. Mo Han roared, “Shatter it!”

Instantly, the Brightness Holy Sword hanging in mid-air projected an overwhelming aura, carrying unparalleled battle force, and struck toward the giant squid still thirty meters away.

Seeing the destructive power of Mo Han’s full-force attack, the squid seemed to panic. It shrieked, and from its massive mouth, it spat out several pale red, bubble-like objects that rushed out to meet the incoming battle aura. Upon contact, these pale red bubbles enveloped the powerful thrust of Mo Han’s battle aura, acting like a temporary containment field. However, because the battle aura was infused with the power of the Brightness Holy Sword, the bubbles could only contain it momentarily before the aura broke through, though its potency was significantly diminished. The next wave of pale red bubbles swiftly encircled the weakened aura, which broke through again, but the aura’s power was further reduced. After several repetitions, the pale red bubbles finally managed to completely nullify all the battle aura Mo Han had launched.

Witnessing this, Mo Han, still suspended in the air, was stunned. An attack he was certain would succeed had been entirely neutralized by a few bubbles from this giant squid. It was simply unbelievable.

This left Mo Han feeling deeply frustrated.

By now, the recovering squid let out a piercing cry, its tentacles sweeping toward Mo Han, who was still airborne. The suckers on its tentacles once again spewed forth black ink toward him. This time, however, Mo Han was prepared. He had been waiting for this precise opportunity and would not be tricked again. He pushed his battle aura to its limit, accelerating his body violently—like a rocket—and lunged toward the giant squid, still dozens of meters away, easily outstripping the grasping tentacles.

The giant squid had not anticipated this sudden burst of speed and was caught flat-footed. In the blink of an eye, Mo Han closed in on the squid’s massive body, while its great tentacles were still far behind, too slow to offer support. Learning his lesson, Mo Han refrained from launching any battle aura, fearing it would be negated by those strange red bubbles, rendering his effort futile. Instead, he concentrated all his battle aura onto the Brightness Holy Sword and directed the weapon toward the squid’s gargantuan frame. The giant squid, true to form, immediately opened its mouth to spew several red bubbles toward Mo Han, attempting to halt his advance, but it was still a step too slow.
