The surrounding diners, however, were startled by Rock's characteristically booming voice, and for a moment, all attention in the room shifted to Mo Han's group.

The crowd then noticed the two beauties, Dai Li and Murong Feixue, and naturally, every gaze settled upon them.

The expressions varied—some were jealous, some envious, others merely surprised. Clearly, they rarely encountered such stunning women, let alone expected to find such peerless beauties in this small town, and two at once, merely accompanying an unremarkable D-rank mercenary group. Thinking of this, some felt a surge of imbalance, while others were simply filled with envy.

Just then, a young man approached Mo Han’s table and spoke with polite deference: "Greetings, everyone. Are you heading to the Magic Forest? Perhaps you'd consider teaming up with us. We are a B-rank mercenary group; partnering with us would certainly be beneficial and harmless to you."

Hearing the young man's proposal, some of the larger mercenary groups nearby inwardly groaned, regretting that they hadn't thought of such an opportunity to approach the beauties first. Hearing him, they hoped Mo Han’s group would refuse, so they might get a chance themselves.

When Mo Han heard the young man's suggestion, he quickly smiled and replied, "Thank you for your kind offer, but we have already formed a party. I’m afraid we must decline."

The young man’s face fell slightly as he responded, "Oh, if that is the case, my apologies for the intrusion."

With that, he turned away in disappointment.

After the young man departed, Mo Han and his companions resumed their conversation.

As they were chatting quite merrily, a middle-aged man approached their table and spoke, "Kid, our leader said that if you are willing, we might consider letting you join our ranks for the trip to the Magic Forest. We are an A-rank mercenary group, after all. How about it? We’re giving you an opportunity."

Mo Han raised an eyebrow upon hearing this and replied coldly, "No need. I already stated we have a team. Did you not understand?" The man was initially taken aback by Mo Han’s response, then shot a disdainful glance at Ma Ke and the others, sneering, "You don't mean these few wastrels, do you? Haha! With their level of skill, do you think they can complete the tasks inside the Magic Forest? That’s pure fantasy."

Then, the man taunted Ma Ke's group directly: "Well? I just beat you up, and you still haven't learned your lesson? Still daring to show your faces here to be humiliated."

The young men standing near Ma Ke flushed crimson at the provocation, but Ma Ke remained calm and replied, "This establishment doesn't seem to be owned by the Raging Bear Mercenary Group, does it? Have you switched careers to run a restaurant? I highly doubt it. So, are we forbidden from eating inside? What a joke."

Hearing Ma Ke’s retort, the other patrons in the tavern burst out laughing. The man’s face darkened instantly, and he roared in anger, "You’re asking for death, daring to mock the Raging Bear Mercenary Group!"

With that, he raised the weapon in his hand and lunged at Ma Ke. Judging by the power behind the strike, he appeared to be at least at the level of a Swordsman.

At that moment, a cold snort was heard, followed by Dai Li swinging the weapon in her hand toward the attacker who was targeting Ma Ke.

The man was startled by Dai Li’s sudden, swift attack and instinctively dodged to the side.

However, because he had never taken Dai Li’s group seriously, nor had he anticipated they would dare retaliate, he had approached Mo Han’s table with his guard down, intent only on punishing Ma Ke for the perceived mockery. Coupled with the fact that his own strength was inferior to Dai Li’s, evasion proved impossible. As Dai Li’s weapon flashed toward his face, the man’s complexion turned pale with terror, completely frozen in place. Just as the blade was about to strike, everyone present gasped. The members of the Raging Bear Mercenary Group shouted for her to stop. Yet, at the very moment everyone expected the man to be fatally wounded, Dai Li’s weapon halted precisely before his eyes, the edge seemingly brushing against his eyelashes. Seeing this, everyone was stunned. They hadn't expected someone so young as Dai Li to possess such mastery over martial technique; her display clearly surpassed all expectations.

At that moment, Dai Li spoke coldly, "Get lost. Don't embarrass yourselves further here."

Saying this, she retracted her weapon, acting as if nothing had happened.

The man, only then recovering from the shock of his near-death experience, looked utterly pale.

Just then, a cold snort echoed, followed by a voice that carried across the room: "I hadn't expected a mere D-rank mercenary group to possess such strength. It is quite beyond my expectation. But by insulting my subordinate like this, do you truly believe the Raging Bear Mercenary Group will let this go so easily?" Mo Han’s group turned toward the sound and saw an elder in his early fifties slowly approaching with a few followers. Among them was a young man who bore a striking resemblance to the elder, but whose eyes were leering shamelessly at Dai Li and Murong Feixue, an sight that immediately put others ill at ease.

The elder stopped before Mo Han, his demeanor utterly arrogant, and spoke slowly, "I am Ham, the leader of the Raging Bear Mercenary Group. You injure one of our members and think you can just walk away? Do you think the Raging Bear Mercenary Group is easy to bully?" The man who had been terrified by Dai Li instantly rushed forward upon seeing his leader and cried, "Leader, they ambushed me! You must uphold justice for me!"

Ham looked at the man coldly and barked, "Useless trash. I ask you to handle one thing, and you botch it. Go back now!"

Hearing Ham’s reprimand, the man could only slink away shamefacedly.

Mo Han then spoke calmly, "I believe everyone in the hall witnessed what happened. Your man made the first move, didn't he? Why are you blaming us? You should actually thank us for teaching that impulsive fool a lesson, saving him from causing trouble for you all the time."
