Hearing Mo Han speak, Dali and the others smiled. They all knew Mo Han’s nature and understood how much he despised those bullies who relied on connections, and they couldn't help but send a silent prayer for the Magge Mercenary Group.
Just then, the cold voice of President Liu cut through the air with a sneer: "So, it's the renowned Magge Mercenary Group. What brings you to my Heavenly Dragon City Guild this time? Did you stumble upon some new mission somewhere? Because from your attitude, it hardly looks like you’ve come to inquire about anything, does it?" Hearing President Liu's mocking tone, the surrounding people smiled, but the expressions of the Magge men darkened considerably. They were, after all, an A-rank mercenary group; wherever they went, even branch guild masters had to show them some deference. They never expected this Liu fellow to be so disrespectful, openly mocking them. However, they couldn't lash out immediately. The man who spoke stepped forward again: "We didn't realize President Liu was so humorous. We were merely asking this young lady for some details about a mission. Since President Liu has put it that way, we'll find information on our own."
With that, he subtly signaled his companions, and the group moved toward the mission board.
As soon as they left, the female receptionist rushed to President Liu's side, her voice laced with tears, "Guild Master, it wasn't like that! They were terribly vulgar... They..." The receptionist couldn't finish her sentence.
President Liu softened his voice in comfort, "I know. You've worked hard. You should go back and rest for today. But since the people involved have already left and there's no evidence, it's difficult for us to pursue the matter. After all, we are the Mercenary Guild; everything must follow the rules. We can't act rashly."
Hearing President Liu’s words, the receptionist could only nod sadly and depart.
When the Magge Mercenary Group reached the mission board, the smaller mercenary groups who knew their fearsome reputation quickly scattered far away, terrified of being targeted. Immediately, the previously bustling area around the board became deserted, leaving only a few scattered individuals, including Mo Han and his party.
The man who had spoken earlier spotted Dali and Murong Feixue, and his eyes immediately lit up. Upon noticing the D-rank insignia on Dali’s chest, he leered and remarked, "I didn't expect to run into so many beauties even in the Capital City. If I had a beauty like this willing to come home and sleep with me, that would be wonderful, hehe." Hearing this response, the other members of the Magge Mercenary Group burst into laughter, shamelessly ogling Dali and Murong Feixue, their eyes darting across the women without reservation.
Seeing this, Mo Han’s anger flared. Damn these idiots. You dare flirt with my woman? You’re practically signing your own death warrants.
Dali and Murong Feixue were already bristling with indignation and about to speak, but Mo Han cut in first: "I wondered who was making all the noise. Turns out it's the despicable Magge Mercenary Group, the kind that hides from the light. I never knew what a turtle looked like until I met you lot."
Upon hearing this, Jack chimed in with a supportive tone, "Boss, why does seeing them remind you of turtles?" Mo Han smiled faintly and replied, "Haven't you heard of a 'head-hiding turtle'? It’s what we call people who are too cowardly to show their faces. Such a simple thing, now you know. If you want to see a turtle, just look at them."
At Mo Han’s words, the faces of the Magge members went stone cold, while Dali’s group and the surrounding onlookers erupted in laughter.
The man who had just spoken glared at Mo Han and said coldly, "Kid, I think you’re tired of living. You must have a death wish."
Mo Han replied calmly, "Don't worry. Even if you are a turtle, I suspect you're a short-lived one. My life will certainly be longer than yours. Even if you die, I won't."
The man scoffed coldly and spat out, "You asked for death." With that, he launched himself directly at Mo Han, his hands throwing out a fierce gust of palm wind toward Mo Han.
Mo Han merely watched the attacker approach, a hint of mockery lingering in his eyes.
Just then, Dali let out a sharp snort. She had already moved to stand in front of Mo Han, drawing her weapon and charging toward the attacker. Dali was intensely furious at the man’s insolent words. She attacked with full force immediately. A dark green radiance flashed across her blade, accompanied by a fierce chill—the inherent freezing effect of her Knight Sword.
The middle-aged man charging at Dali was greatly alarmed and immediately twisted to dodge. But Dali’s skill level had already reached that of an Intermediate Sword Master, and with the acceleration effect from the wind-attributed crystal embedded in her sword, her attack speed surpassed that of a typical Intermediate Sword Master. Even though the man dodged quickly, the edge of the blade still grazed his arm. A sharp cry of pain tore from the man as he was sent flying backward rapidly, a wound deep enough to expose bone etched across his limb.
After striking successfully, Dali did not press the attack. Even she was surprised that she managed to injure a High-Rank Sword Master so easily with a single move. Although the man had been caught off guard, Dali was very satisfied with the effect she achieved.
Seeing the man hastily retreat, Dali stared coldly at the Magge members, a flicker of disdain in her eyes, and sneered, "It seems reputation is better than reality. The Magge Mercenary Group is truly extraordinary."
The onlookers were stunned when they saw Dali in action. They hadn't expected a D-rank mercenary group to possess such strength. Furthermore, judging by Dali's age—barely twenty—to repel a High-Rank Sword Master in one blow made everyone look at the members of the Flying Cloud Mercenary Group with newfound respect.
Once the man was injured, the members of the Magge Mercenary Group urgently cried out, "Leader, how are you?"
Some voices immediately began shouting accusations: "How dare you ambush us? You're truly shameless!"
Mo Han responded dismissively, "With your level of skill, would we need to ambush you? What a joke. Look at the trash you are."
Hearing this, the Magge members’ faces flushed with rage. One by one, they drew their weapons, clearly intending to start a brawl. The Flying Cloud members, seeing the opposing stance, also drew their weapons. The atmosphere instantly tightened, poised on the brink of explosion.
