As soon as Mo Han finished speaking, everyone burst out laughing, but Yan Shi maintained a serious demeanor. “I’m telling the truth, Boss. Don’t frame me. Do you really think I’m wrong?” Hearing this, Mo Han paused for a beat, then chuckled. “So you’ve learned to take the blame for me, eh, kid? I think you’re looking for a beating. Have you been feeling restless because I haven’t disciplined you in a few days?” At Mo Han’s words, Yan Shi quickly shook his head. “No, Boss, just pretend I never said anything. Everyone knows your capabilities; I’m not that foolish to fight you. At worst, I won’t say anything next time.”

The moment Yan Shi finished speaking, it provoked another round of roaring laughter from the group.

The next morning, Mo Han and the others arrived early at the Dragon’s Heaven City Mercenary Guild. Since arriving in the capital, Mo Han and his group hadn't visited the place at all. This visit was at Mo Han’s suggestion; he felt that if they truly wanted to temper themselves, they needed to take on diverse missions to ensure everyone’s strength progressed noticeably.

Upon reaching the Mercenary Guild located in the east of the city, Mo Han and his party discovered that the capital’s Guild was far larger and much more luxuriously decorated than they had imagined—it bore no resemblance to the Guilds Mo Han and the others had seen before.

As soon as Mo Han and his group entered, an enthusiastic female receptionist immediately approached them to inquire about their purpose and patiently offered explanations. Based on their team’s rank, she introduced various missions suitable for them.

This service was a marked improvement over the arrogant attitudes of the staff at previous Guilds, leaving Mo Han secretly astonished. He found himself curious about the person in charge of the Dragon’s Heaven City Mercenary Guild. It reminded him so much of the specialized reception service he’d experienced back on Earth; encountering this level of service on this foreign continent made him feel a bit nostalgic.

Lost in thought, Mo Han started chatting quite warmly with the attractive female receptionist. If Daili and the others didn't know Mo Han’s nature, anyone else would have assumed he was interested in her.

If the receptionist hadn't noticed the two beauties, Daili and Murong Feixue, standing beside Mo Han, she likely would have misunderstood as well.

However, seeing Mo Han’s excessive enthusiasm, she couldn't help but speak up somewhat awkwardly. “The mission board is just ahead. Please take your time looking through the listings. Let me know if you need anything else.”

With that, she hurried away.

Mo Han was left feeling baffled. Things had been going so well just a moment ago; why the sudden change?

Daili noticed and chuckled. “Oh, you. Why were you being so enthusiastic? People will think you have designs on her. See? You scared her off, haha.”

Mo Han quickly replied, “Heh heh, it’s just that the atmosphere here suddenly reminded me so much of my hometown, so I got a bit carried away chatting.”

Hearing Mo Han’s response, Latin piped up curiously. “Boss, where exactly is your hometown? We’ve asked you many times, but you’ve never told us which country it is in?” Hearing Latin’s question, Yan Shi and Jack also became curious. Only Daili seemed to sense that Mo Han might have some unspoken difficulties, so she refrained from asking, just about to explain for him, when Mo Han spoke first. “Heh heh, you wouldn’t understand even if I told you now. I’ll tell you next time we have a chance.”

However, a distinct shade of sadness colored Mo Han’s tone. Seeing this, Latin and the others wisely dropped the subject.

Daili quickly interjected, “Everyone, let’s not stand around here. Why don’t we go look at the mission board to see if there’s anything we can accept?” After saying this, she took Mo Han’s hand and smiled at him. “Heh heh, you still have us, remember? No matter what it is, we will definitely support you.”

Latin and the others quickly chimed in their agreement. Mo Han smiled gratefully at Daili and the others, then said, “Heh heh, I know. Let’s hurry and look at the missions. I’m afraid all the suitable ones will be snatched up if we wait too long, and then we’ll have come for nothing.”

Hearing Mo Han’s suggestion, everyone nodded quickly and headed toward the mission board.

Just as Mo Han and his group were intently studying the densely packed mission descriptions on the board, they heard a noisy commotion erupt from the courtyard. They turned toward the sound and saw the same female receptionist who had greeted them earlier surrounded by several large, rough-looking men. The men were frequently making lewd comments, which had the poor receptionist on the verge of tears, desperately trying to break free but trapped within their circle.

Latin and Yan Shi were about to step forward when Mo Han held them back. Seeing Latin and the others look at him questioningly, Mo Han smiled and said, “Heh heh, no need for us to intervene. Someone else is stepping up.”

No sooner had Mo Han finished speaking than a cold snort echoed, and an icy voice emerged from inside the building. “Who dares cause trouble in our Mercenary Guild? You have quite the nerve.”

As the voice faded, a middle-aged man walked out into the courtyard, his expression grim as he stared at the men surrounding the receptionist.

The unfortunate receptionist, upon seeing the middle-aged man, immediately pleaded with a tearful voice, “Guild Leader Liu, please save me! They won’t let me leave.”

When the group of rough men heard the receptionist’s words, they realized the man’s identity—he must be the branch Guild Leader. Realizing this, they dared not cause further trouble. One of the men spoke up, “So it’s the Guild Leader himself. It was a misunderstanding. We are from the Mage Mercenary Group. We were just asking this young lady a few questions and didn't mean to alarm you.”

Hearing the man’s reply, Daili, standing beside Mo Han, frowned. “I didn’t expect them to be the Mage Mercenary Group. They really live up to their infamous reputation.”

Mo Han asked curiously, “Oh? What’s their story? Daili, you’ve heard of them?”

Daili nodded. “The Mage Mercenary Group is an A-rank mercenary group. They specialize in robbing weaker mercenary groups. Once they spot a small group that has completed a mission, they will track them down and intercept them mid-journey to claim the mission reward for themselves. Because of this, they are widely notorious. However, their strength is not insignificant, and they only target weaker groups. During their raids, they always wear masks, so even if people know who they are, they have no proof to act against them. As for the larger mercenary groups, as long as it doesn't concern them, they won't actively provoke an A-rank group like Mage. Consequently, no one has ever dealt with them, and the smaller groups just steer clear whenever they spot the Mage Mercenary Group.”
