Mo Han smiled upon hearing this. "I came prepared for these matters already, thank you for the reminder, Chief. Mo Han will certainly be careful."
Seeing no sign of alarm on Mo Han's face, the Ox-Man Chief nodded approvingly. "Sir shows extraordinary courage. No wonder the Heavenly Dragon Empire sent you as an envoy to the Beast Clans. In truth, most of our people do not wish to provoke this war, as we know if it truly erupts, the outcome will be mutual devastation. It is unfortunate that His Majesty the Beast Emperor refuses to heed our counsel; we are powerless, having no choice but to obey the Emperor's decision. I sincerely hope your mission tomorrow is a success, that you might resolve this conflict and save the innocent lives of both the Beast Clans and the Heavenly Dragon Empire."
Mo Han replied solemnly, "Mo Han will do his utmost. However, since I am to meet the Beast Emperor tomorrow, there are matters I must attend to immediately, so I shall not linger here any longer. I promise to pay another visit when time allows, and with that, I take my leave."
He then rose and bowed.
The Ox-Man Chief quickly returned the courtesy. "Then I shall not detain you further; pressing business comes first. If you require any assistance whatsoever, please come to me, and we will certainly do everything in our power to help."
Lamu also spoke up from the side. "Brother, if you run into any danger, just send word through someone to me, and I will surely rush to your aid."
Seeing their earnestness, Mo Han thanked them gratefully. "Mo Han thanks you all for your kindness. However, in this matter, your positions make it inconvenient for you to openly intervene. If the need arises, I will certainly trouble you all. I must depart now."
The Ox-Man Chief and Lamu nodded and escorted Mo Han to the door, where Mihai had someone prepare a carriage to take Mo Han back to the guesthouse.
On the way back to the guesthouse, Mo Han inquired of Mihai where he could purchase Cana Wine, giving Mihai gold coins and asking him to buy some to take back to the inn. Mihai readily agreed. Mo Han had already resolved that since he was facing the Prophet and the Beast Emperor tomorrow, securing the agreement and support of the Beast Clan's First Prince, who opposed the conflict, was the most critical task at hand.
Not long after returning to the guesthouse, Mihai had a servant deliver the Cana Wine Mo Han requested. After thanking the courier, Mo Han instructed the inn official to fetch him a large cauldron, fill it with water, and then he placed the sealed bottles of Cana Wine directly into the pot. Next, he cast a protective barrier around his room and then summoned a small-scale Fireball, tossing it directly under the cauldron to heat the water. This was a technique Mo Han had read about in ancient texts, rumored to increase the potency of the liquor. It was his first time experimenting, and he wasn't entirely sure how it would turn out.
After half a day of evaporation, Mo Han was utterly exhausted. Fortunately, being a Great Magus allowed him to sustain the effort.
He deactivated his magic and rushed to the large cauldron. Lifting the lid, he was immediately greeted by a powerful aroma of spirits. Looking at the bottles, he saw the liquid level had dropped by a third. Mo Han was overjoyed. He tentatively picked up a bottle to sample it, feeling an immediate, burning heat in his stomach—it was far stronger than the Cana Wine he had drunk the previous night.
Satisfied, Mo Han nodded, grabbed a box, packed all the distilled Cana Wine bottles inside, and headed out. After inquiring with the inn official about the location of the First Prince's mansion, he departed immediately.
Before long, Mo Han arrived at the residence he had visited the previous night. After stating his purpose to the Beast Clan soldiers guarding the entrance, he waited at the gate.
Soon after, the First Prince himself emerged to greet him, smiling warmly at Mo Han. "I was just about to send someone to fetch the esteemed Envoy; I didn't expect you to come yourself. It saves me the trouble of waiting, haha. Please, esteemed Envoy, come inside."
He then turned and led Mo Han inward. Mo Han felt a slight surprise, silently acknowledging that the First Prince was indeed remarkably humble and courteous; it was no wonder he held the highest prestige among the royal princes. Considering this, Mo Han quickly smiled and said, "I am truly overwhelmed by the honor of being personally received by Your Highness the First Prince."
The First Prince shook his head with a smile. "Envoy, you are being too formal. After meeting you last night, I felt an instant rapport with you and now consider you a brother."
Mo Han inwardly marveled at how completely unpretentious the First Prince was. If this was his true nature, then things would be simple; but if it was merely an act, the depth of this man's scheming mind was terrifying.
Mo Han quickly smiled and replied, "Heh, I dare not. How could Mo Han compare myself to Your Highness? You are the future of the Beast Clans; I am merely an ordinary man, naturally incomparable to you."
The First Prince only smiled in return. "Heh, Envoy, you are too modest. May I ask why you have come so early? Is there something pressing?" Mo Han smiled. "Actually, it's nothing much. I merely promised Your Highness yesterday that I would bring some potent liquor for you to sample, so I came early today."
Upon hearing that Mo Han had brought the strong liquor he favored, the First Prince immediately brightened with joy. "Truly? I shall order wine and food prepared at once. Please wait a moment, esteemed Envoy." He said a few words to a nearby servant, who immediately turned and left.
Mo Han and the First Prince proceeded directly into the main hall they had occupied the night before. As soon as they were seated, the First Prince impatiently asked Mo Han to bring out the potent liquor. Mo Han found it amusing; these Beast Clan members were truly devoted drinkers.
He opened the box he carried and handed a bottle to the Prince, saying, "I ask Your Highness for your opinion." The First Prince opened the bottle, took a sniff, and exclaimed with delight, "This is truly fine wine! The taste is reminiscent of Cana Wine, yet it is far more fragrant."
Mo Han chuckled inwardly. This was Cana Wine, merely given a small refinement by him; of course, it tasted similar, yet improved.
The First Prince raised the bottle and took a sip, immediately showing an expression of sheer pleasure. "It is magnificent wine! This is much better than my Cana Wine. Envoy, you are truly skilled to have such a rare vintage stored away."
Mo Han smiled smoothly. "It is a pity I did not bring much. If Your Highness enjoys it, I can have more sent over when I return home. I could even send larger quantities to Your Highness regularly in the future."
