Hearing Shui Ling'er's words, Mo Han thought to himself that of course, Mo Xiuyi's divine curse was something even the King of Hell might hesitate to face head-on, let alone the soldiers on the battlefield. It would be strange if there wasn't trouble.

Shui Ling'er continued, "Even after that battle ended, humans continuously searched for the traces of Flame Island, but it was as if the island had vanished. It couldn't be found in its original location, nor anywhere in the surrounding seas despite extensive searches. Everyone eventually returned empty-handed."

Mo Han understood immediately upon hearing this. It must have been the residual power of Mo Xiuyi's divine curse that had laid down a protective barrier. Hadn't Mo Xiuyi mentioned a magical screen above the Flame Island? If it weren't for his own cultivation as a Great Archmage, he might never have escaped. Furthermore, the island itself, under the earth-shattering might of that divine curse, had been cleaved in two—one half submerged, while the other had been violently jolted so far from its original coordinates by the curse's immense power.

Moreover, viewed from the sky by outsiders, nothing could be seen due to the magical barrier. This was precisely why those searchers could never locate Flame Island.

Seeing the thoughtful look on Mo Han's face, Shui Ling'er assumed he was pondering the matter and pressed on. "According to the records of our Church of Light, the Underworld launches an invasion once every 500 years. The last great war was nearly 500 years ago, and in two years, that five-century mark will be reached."

Hearing this, Mo Han asked with curiosity, "Have you perhaps discovered something?" Shui Ling'er nodded. "You guessed correctly. Last month, the sacred artifact of our Church of Light—the Holy Grail of Light—suddenly sensed a powerful fluctuation of Underworld death energy. Though it lasted only a moment, we are certain someone from the Underworld has already crossed the spatial barrier and entered the Dragon Ascent Continent. The Pope analyzes that this must be a vanguard sent by the King of Hell, specifically tasked with scouting human intelligence to prepare for the full invasion due in two years."

Mo Han interjected, "Then is the reason you came here that someone from the Underworld has already arrived in the Northern Territories?" Shui Ling'er nodded approvingly. "Precisely. A while ago, our Holy Grail sensed one such death aura moving towards the Barren Plains. Coincidentally, at this exact time, the Beast Tribe's Oracle, who had been missing for hundreds of years, suddenly reappeared, their timing almost perfectly matching the emergence of that Underworld death energy. Therefore, we suspect this Beast Tribe Oracle is connected to the individual from the Underworld."

Mo Han continued, "So you believe they are using the war between the Beast Tribe and the Sky Dragon Empire to deplete human strength? After all, the Sky Dragon Empire is the greatest nation among humans. If it falls, humanity's power will undoubtedly be greatly weakened, which would certainly benefit the Underworld."

Shui Ling'er nodded. "It seems your thick skull has finally grasped it. Now you understand why I forbade you from going to the Beast Tribe. Because what you might face is an undead creature from the Underworld, perhaps even one of the Ten Dread Generals under the King of Hell himself. This scouting mission is incredibly important, and we estimate the King of Hell would deploy his top generals to complete it. If the target is indeed a Dread General, they are beings far more terrifying than a human Sword Saint; perhaps only a Sword God could possibly prevail. Even if they aren't a Dread General, consider this: if the Underworld sends only a few individuals on such a critical mission, do you truly believe their capabilities would be lacking? You going there would be nothing short of suicide."

Listening to Shui Ling'er's explanation, Mo Han felt a chill run down his spine. If the opponent was truly more terrifying than a Sword Saint, he would surely just be fodder going up against them.

With this thought, Mo Han turned to Shui Ling'er, his expression filled with concern. "Then why did you come here? Does the Church of Light intend for you to handle a Dread General?" Shui Ling'er nodded slightly, and Mo Han exploded in anger. "Damn it! Have all the men in your Church of Light died off? Sending you, a woman, to face a Dread General—isn't that just sending you to your death? They would actually sanction something like that?"

Seeing Mo Han’s agitation, Shui Ling'er knew he was genuinely worried for her safety, and her heart warmed instantly.

She smiled and spoke gently, "Who said I was coming alone? Three of the six Archbishops from our Church will accompany me. Furthermore, I possess a sacred artifact specifically designed to combat the undead of the Underworld—the Scepter of Light. Coupled with Uncle Lyle, we will certainly manage."

Noticing Mo Han’s skeptical look, Shui Ling'er chuckled. "Don't underestimate Uncle Lyle, Mo Han. He possesses strength equal to at least a peak Sword Saint. And the Scepter of Light I've brought is a genuine divine artifact, one of our Church's most treasured relics. It is not comparable to ordinary magical artifacts."

Seeing Mo Han still looked unconvinced, Shui Ling'er continued, "Moreover, my role here is merely to scout the enemy's true strength first. If the opponent turns out to be a Dread General, the Pope himself will personally come. Our chances of victory will be much greater then."

Only then did Mo Han relax slightly after hearing Shui Ling'er’s words, though he still shook his head. "If that's the case, then I must go to the Beast Tribe even more urgently."

Shui Ling'er asked curiously, "And why is that?" Mo Han quickly said with earnestness, "Because you are there, I naturally must follow to protect you. Otherwise, how could I be at ease? If something happened to you, where would I ever find another Saintess to be my wife?" Hearing Mo Han’s roguish words laced with deep affection, Shui Ling'er blushed slightly and said, "When did I ever say I was marrying you? Don't talk nonsense."

Mo Han laughed. "You might not want to now, but you might change your mind in the future. If I wait too long, I'll lose out, won't I? Where else would I find someone like you?"

Hearing Mo Han's shamelessly charming words, Shui Ling'er could only laugh exasperatedly and shyly scold him, "I can't talk to a rogue like you anymore."

Mo Han merely chuckled, offering no rebuttal.

Shui Ling'er then spoke again, her concern evident. "Since you have made up your mind to go, I know I cannot stop your resolve. You must be extremely careful in everything, and absolutely do not overexert yourself, understood?" Please help collect and recommend this! :) Thank you. Jump to
