For Murong Feixue, the remaining task was simply to rest well; she would recover in a few days, and nothing else should be an issue.
Stepping out, Mo Han realized it was already afternoon, and Little Mo and Little Han were still standing diligently in the courtyard.
Seeing Mo Han emerge, Little Mo affectionately reverted to his puppy form, rushing toward Mo Han and ceaselessly whining while snuggling against him. Mo Han happily picked him up. Little Han, not wishing to be left out, also barked incessantly at Mo Han. Mo Han stroked its head affectionately and said, "You both did wonderfully. Thank you. I'll treat you both to a grand dinner tonight to celebrate."
The two demonic beasts whimpered excitedly upon hearing Mo Han's words, seemingly delighted by his praise.
Seeing this, Mo Han felt immense joy and chuckled while playfully teasing them.
A moment later, Mo Han spoke again, "Alright, we should head out now, or everyone outside will start getting anxious waiting."
With that, he strode toward the main gate, and Little Mo and Little Han scurried eagerly behind him, running along.
The moment Mo Han stepped out of the main entrance, he saw Murong Tian pacing anxiously, while the others from Feiyun stood by with equally worried expressions. Seeing Mo Han appear, Daili was the first to exclaim, "He's out! Mo Han is out!"
Immediately, everyone gathered around him.
Murong Tian’s hanging heart finally settled when he saw Mo Han emerge. He immediately asked, "Little Brother, are you unharmed?" Mo Han smiled and replied, "Nothing major. I was just caught off guard by that Necromancer's surprise attack and sustained some minor injuries, nothing serious."
Nangong Yunfeng, however, asked with intense tension, "How is Xue'er?" Mo Han smiled and reassured her, "Hehe, please don't worry, Miss Murong is fine now. She is just a bit weak. Could you, Madam, please send a few maids to look after her? She needs proper rest for a few days, and she will be fully recovered soon enough."
Upon hearing Mo Han's answer, Nangong Yunfeng became emotional and tried to kneel before him. "Thank you so much for saving her life, Little Brother! You risked your own life to save Xue'er; even serving you as a slave wouldn't repay this debt. Please, accept my bow."
She started to bow deeply, but Mo Han quickly stopped her, helping her up. He said, "Madam Murong, you must not. Saving Miss Murong was something I promised to do myself. It also serves as repayment for your hospitality to us during this time, and frankly, it was what I ought to do. I will likely need to trouble you again in the future, so there is no need for such formality, Madam."
Murong Tian, with eyes red with gratitude, added sincerely, "Little Brother, the great kindness you have shown will never be forgotten by myself or the Murong family. I will say no more. In the future, if you need anything, Little Brother, just ask. The Murong family will never refuse."
Murong Feiying also showed clear gratitude, saying, "Thank you for saving my sister. I was wrong before; I hope you can forgive me."
Seeing their sincerity, Mo Han laughed softly, "Alright, if you keep insisting like this, I’ll get too embarrassed. I’m starving! Let’s go eat quickly, or I might faint from hunger."
Hearing Mo Han, everyone burst out laughing. Murong Tian quickly agreed, "Yes, yes! Look at me, I got too excited and forgot. The food was prepared long ago; no one has eaten yet. Let’s all go eat together."
Nangong Yunfeng insisted on staying inside to be with Murong Feixue, so Murong Tian accompanied Mo Han and the others to dine alone. The evening passed amidst laughter and joy.
The very next morning, as Mo Han was waking up, the Murong couple brought the now-awake Murong Feixue to thank him. Her complexion looked much better now, with a hint of color returning to her face, unlike the previous stark paleness. She was wearing a light blue dress, radiating a captivating aura.
Seeing her, Mo Han recalled the intimate scene from the previous day, and a wave of excitement stirred within him.
Murong Feixue approached Mo Han and spoke softly, "Thank you, Pastor Mo Han, for saving my life. Murong Feixue will remember it forever."
She then offered a graceful bow. Mo Han chuckled, helping her up, and replied, "Hehe, it was nothing. Miss Murong, there’s no need for such formality."
After hearing Mo Han, Murong Feixue spoke up, "From now on, please call me Xue'er, just like everyone else. Hearing 'Miss Murong' makes me sound like some delicate, sheltered young lady."
Mo Han, hearing this, dropped his reservations and cheerfully replied, "Alright, if that’s the case, I’ll call you Xue’er from now on. And you, along with Daili and Anna, can call me Brother Mo Han."
Murong Feixue agreed immediately, her face lighting up with happiness.
Just then, Murong Yuguang entered from the doorway and addressed Murong Tian, "Patriarch, the Minister of Rites, Chen Fu, is requesting an audience with you and Young Brother Mo Han. Shall I receive him?" Murong Tian said nothing, merely smiling at Mo Han. Mo Han inwardly thought with a faint chuckle, Heh, I almost forgot about that. He came right to my doorstep. Perfect, saves me an extra trip.
With this thought, Mo Han smiled toward Murong Yuguang and said, "Steward, please inform him that I will be there shortly, and ask him to wait outside for a moment."
Murong Yuguang immediately responded respectfully, "Yes, I shall attend to it right away."
He then bowed to Murong Tian and the others before taking his leave.
At that moment, Daili and Anna also entered through the doorway. Seeing Murong Tian and the others present, Anna said affectionately, "Uncle Murong, Auntie, Sister Xue'er, you’re up so early!"
Murong Tian and Nangong Yunfeng smiled and nodded. Nangong Yunfeng even pulled Anna into a fond embrace, saying, "You're the one who slept in too late, dear. How could it be that we are too early?"
Anna blushed slightly at Nangong Yunfeng's words and replied, "Hehe, that's not it. Daili-jie, Yunxiang, and I were up early, but we were just chatting in the room! Don't believe me? Ask Daili-jie."
Daili was much quieter than Anna. She simply greeted the Murongs softly, then walked over to Murong Feixue, affectionately grasping her small hand and asking with concern, "Xue'er, how is your body? Do you still feel uncomfortable anywhere? Remember to tell us right away, or if this bad guy leaves, there won't be anyone around to help you."
Hearing Daili, Mo Han gave a wry smile. "Ugh, why am I the bad guy now?"
Murong Feixue, recalling the scene of facing Mo Han completely undressed yesterday, blushed deeply and replied, "Thank you, Daili-jie. I am truly fine now, much better."
