Ascending to the third floor, Mo Han was immediately struck by the sight. Both sides of the corridor were adorned with several night-luminescent pearls, each the size of a fist, illuminating the passage brightly. The floor was covered in a crimson carpet that Mo Han instantly recognized as prohibitively expensive, far beyond the means of ordinary nobility.

This only deepened Mo Han's curiosity about the identity of his host.

A captivating floral scent wafted towards him, one that seemed strangely familiar to Mo Han, though he couldn't place where he had encountered it before. Yet, he was certain he had smelled this fragrance previously.

The woman in black led him to the doorway of a room where two other beautiful women in black attire stood guard. What set these two apart were the crimson roses embroidered conspicuously on their sleeves.

The moment Mo Han saw the roses, everything clicked into place. No wonder the fragrance felt so familiar—it was the scent that always clung to the Dark Saintess, Liu Yanran. It was the very aroma that had enveloped her the last time he held her. Thinking of Liu Yanran's peerless beauty and familiar face, Mo Han felt an unexpected surge of excitement, a distinct eagerness to see her again.

The woman who had guided him then addressed the two guards: "Please inform the Protector Sisters; this is Young Master Mo Han, whom the Young Lady asked to see. Kindly announce his arrival."

The guard on the left, clad in black, spoke with cold authority: "We are aware. You may leave now."

Hearing this, the first woman bowed respectfully and turned to depart.

The remaining guard studied Mo Han with unconcealed curiosity, prompting him to smile as he spoke, "Sister, even if I truly am devastatingly handsome, staring at me like that will make me blush. I assure you, I am quite pure."

At Mo Han’s words, both guards let out muffled chuckles. One of them finally spoke: "You are exactly as the Young Lady described—a fellow blessed with unrivaled shamelessness."

Mo Han beamed proudly. "Hehe, I'm flattered, truly. I wouldn't dare claim the top spot, perhaps second in all the world would suffice."

This earned him an exasperated glance from the guard, who then said, "The Young Lady is waiting inside for you, Young Master. Please, come in."

With that, she and the other guard departed.

Mo Han, without ceremony, pushed the door open and stepped inside. The pervasive, enchanting fragrance immediately greeted him. He spotted an inner room and called out with a smile, "Heh heh, Saintess Wife, since you summoned me, why not come out and greet your guest? You’re terribly impolite. I shall have to file a complaint."

Before his words had fully faded, a sound like silver bells tinkled from the inner chamber. "You actually remember me? I thought with so many beauties around you, you would have long forgotten me. Come in quickly."

Mo Han wasted no time and readily entered. Inside, he saw Liu Yanran seated by a table, dressed in close-fitting black attire, watching him with undisguised delight. Her bright eyes were brimming with tenderness.

Mo Han laughed, "Ah, Saintess Wife, you seem even more beautiful after just a few days apart. What's your secret? Teach me; I wish to look even more dashing."

He then deliberately adopted a lustful expression, letting his gaze linger on the alluring contours of Liu Yanran’s figure.

Liu Yanran giggled at his remark. "What's wrong? Didn't our Mo Han always claim to be a rare handsome specimen when fighting the Priests? Do you really need beauty treatments? Have you finally realized your shortcomings?" Mo Han immediately adopted a serious mien. "Not at all! My nature is to always strive for better, never settling for the best. Though I am already quite handsome, only through constant self-improvement can I honor my own potential."

Liu Yanran shook her head and chuckled. "Enough idle chatter. Come here; I have something to discuss with you."

Mo Han cheekily retorted, "What are you plotting? I'm still a virgin, you know."

Yet, he moved swiftly towards her regardless.

Liu Yanran shot him a look brimming with seductive charm. "Then perhaps you shouldn't come closer."

Faced with her enchanting gaze, Mo Han felt every bone in his body dissolve. He rushed forward. "If my Saintess Wife calls me, how could I possibly disobey? If you tell me to go east, I shall never go west; if you tell me to eat porridge, I swear I won't touch noodles, hehe."

Liu Yanran shook her head with weary amusement. "Always talking nonsense. Alright, I genuinely have serious matters to discuss. Stop fooling around for now."

Mo Han smiled knowingly. "I understand your meaning. You mean we should save the antics for after the serious talk, right?"

Knowing she couldn't out-argue Mo Han, Liu Yanran decided to press on directly. "Are you attending Murong Feixue’s marriage solicitation assembly tomorrow? Do you seriously intend to become a son-in-law of the Murong family?" Mo Han smiled smoothly. "Certainly not. I am merely entrusted by someone to look after the Murong family's interests. I already have a Saintess Wife as beautiful as you; why would I seek out Murong Feixue?"

Upon hearing his reply, Liu Yanran remained surprisingly silent, instead looking at him with pure worry. "Can you promise me you won't go tomorrow?" Mo Han looked puzzled. "Why? What's wrong?" Liu Yanran hesitated before speaking. "Since you are already Yanran's husband, I will hide nothing. Tomorrow, our Dark Church plans to confront the Light Church in Light City. Given Murong Tian's friendship with Archpriest Mora, they certainly won't stand idly by. I fear you might be harmed. Can you promise me?" Liu Yanran finished, gazing at him with hopeful eyes.

Mo Han was genuinely touched by her concern. He looked conflicted. "I fear I cannot. I gave my word to Murong Tian. You wouldn't want me to be a dishonorable wretch, would you?" Liu Yanran sighed. "I know I cannot stop you. But you must be extremely careful. This time, my Martial Uncle will be personally leading the assault. His strength is comparable to my Master's—he likely possesses the power of a Sword Saint. You must not push yourself, understood? I will be watching over you from the sidelines."

Moved, Mo Han looked back at her. "You must be careful too, you hear me? I heard the Emperor of the Heavenly Dragon Empire is arriving tomorrow; the security will certainly be formidable. If things turn sour, you leave first, or I'll worry myself sick. If anything happens to you, it will break my heart."
