"Right then," Murong Tian continued after saying what he had to say, "I have another matter I need to trouble young friend Mo Han with today. Although I know you've already helped me immensely, I truly hope you can grant me this one favor."
Mo Han quickly replied, "General Murong, there's no need to be so polite. Whatever it is, just say the word. If it's something Mo Han can manage, I will certainly do it."
Murong Tian hesitated for a moment before speaking, "Tomorrow is the day my daughter announces the call for healers across the continent to seek treatment. I hope you, young friend, can attend this medical recruitment event. Currently, those outsiders have no idea that Xue'er is afflicted by a curse; they all just think she is ill. I worry that if they attempt to treat her without understanding the situation, their clumsy efforts might only worsen her condition. That is why I hope you can be present to help look out for her. Furthermore, I need you to help keep the matter of Xue'er's curse a secret for now. I don't want to alert the person manipulating things behind the scenes; I must discover who holds such deep-seated hatred for our Murong family. I implore you to agree to this, young friend; Murong Tian will be eternally grateful."
After Murong Tian finished speaking, he looked at Mo Han with sincere eyes. Before Mo Han could reply, Anna, standing nearby, interjected, "Brother Mo Han, please agree to Uncle Murong's request and help Sister Xue'er! She is truly pitiful. It would be a disaster if those fools mess up her treatment."
Deli also chimed in from the side, "Yes, Mo Han, please help Uncle Murong and Xue'er."
Mo Han chuckled and said, "Since you all put it that way, of course, I have no choice but to agree. Heh heh."
As soon as Mo Han finished speaking, Deli and Anna burst into happy laughter.
Seeing this, Murong Tian was also delighted and said, "Then allow me to thank you first, Brother Mo Han. In the future, if you ever need anything, feel free to come to me, Murong Tian, and I will spare no effort to assist you."
Anna piped up from the side, "Uncle Murong, I helped too! You can't just thank Brother Mo Han alone!"
As soon as she said this, everyone laughed.
Murong Tian quickly responded, "Right, I truly must thank Anna and Deli as well! Just now, your Aunt Nangong mentioned she was going to the temple to pray for blessings for Xue'er and for you all. She asked me to bring you along to find her—see how I almost forgot! Your aunt and Xue'er should be waiting for you at the gate now."
Hearing Murong Tian’s words, Anna exclaimed happily, "Uncle Murong, why didn't you say so sooner? We're heading over right now!"
With that, she quickly grabbed Deli and Yun Xiang and dashed out, causing Mo Han to shake his head and chuckle from the side, "This girl is getting livelier by the day. She's certainly caused quite a bit of trouble for General Murong."
Murong Tian quickly replied with a smile, "How could that be? These girls are all so kind and lively. They suit my temperament, my wife's, and Xue'er's perfectly. I should be thanking them! Since they arrived, my residence has gained so much joy. Otherwise, it's been so quiet here. Ever since Xue'er fell ill, it's been a very long time since we’ve felt this happy."
Mentioning Murong Feixue's curse, Murong Tian's face immediately showed worry again. Seeing this, Mo Han quickly changed the subject, "Is there anything specific I should be mindful of during tomorrow's healing assembly? Please explain it to me, General Murong, so I can avoid any misunderstandings."
How could Murong Tian not understand Mo Han's thoughtfulness? He gave Mo Han a grateful smile and said, "Heh heh, there isn't much to be particularly mindful of, except that the Emperor of the Empire might personally attend tomorrow. I will simply teach you some basic etiquette, young friend."
With that, he led Mo Han aside to instruct him on aristocratic manners.
Time passed quickly. By the time Mo Han finished learning, he returned to the courtyard only to find that Yan Shi and Latin had already gone to rest. Having been cooped up for a few days, Mo Han also needed some fresh air. After greeting Yan Shi and declining escort from Latin and the others, he left the Murong Residence alone.
He hadn't gone far before Mo Han noticed he was being followed, but he wasn't concerned. Mo Han could sense that the follower’s martial arts skill hadn't even reached the level of a Sword Master. As a Great Sword Master, Mo Han naturally wasn't worried about any harm coming from them.
Just then, the white-robed figure trailing him quickly caught up to Mo Han and asked respectfully, "Are you Young Master Mo Han?" Mo Han smiled and nodded, tacitly confirming his identity.
Seeing Mo Han nod, the man in white immediately bowed respectfully and said, "I have been entrusted by my young mistress to wait here for Young Master Mo Han to proceed to the Hui Cheng Teahouse ahead for a meeting. I humbly request that you accompany me there."
Mo Han smiled, "While I admit I am quite handsome, I don't seem to know any young mistresses in the capital. Perhaps you have made a mistake?" The white-robed man replied respectfully, "There is no mistake, sir. Our young mistress was very specific: if we encountered a Priest who smiles often and has a bit of cheek in his speech, that would certainly be him."
Mo Han heard this and scratched his head awkwardly, "Heh heh, your young mistress certainly understands me well. In that case, it seems I must go."
Mo Han secretly wondered who this person could be, for their description to be so precise. It was almost as if they knew him intimately. Seeing the white-robed man already leading the way, Mo Han didn't think much more of it. That was just his nature: things he could figure out, he would eventually understand, and for things he couldn't grasp, racking his brain would likely be useless anyway.
Before long, they arrived at the Hui Cheng Teahouse the white-robed man had mentioned. Mo Han noted it was a three-story establishment and couldn't help feeling a bit surprised; it was rare to see a teahouse of such grand scale.
Entering the main hall, he saw a considerable crowd—it seemed quite popular, making Mo Han a bit thirsty. Mo Han followed the white-robed man to the second floor, which was completely empty of patrons and tables. Only two beautiful young women dressed in black stood near the staircase leading to the third floor. After bringing Mo Han there, the white-robed man addressed the two women, "Please, Sisters, this is Young Master Mo Han whom the mistress wishes to see."
With that, he turned and left immediately.
Mo Han wondered internally why this particular madam arranged such an elaborate reception. Just then, the black-clad woman on his left spoke respectfully, "Please follow me upstairs, Young Master. Our mistress has been waiting for you for quite some time."
Mo Han said nothing more, nodding for the black-clad woman to lead the way. He followed her directly up to the third floor.
