After handing the book to Rock, Latin immediately knelt before Mo Han and declared, "Your immense kindness is something I can never repay, so I can only swear my fealty to you. From now on, anyone who wishes to harm you or the Princess must first step over my body."
Mo Han quickly helped him up, saying, "Geez, don't be so dramatic. I won't get used to it, and besides, I don't need your protection; I can take care of myself."
Latin said firmly, "If you refuse, it means you deem me unworthy to guard you, and I won't accept this book either."
Rock, standing nearby, was equally moved and knelt down in the same manner, swearing fealty to Mo Han to become his sworn guardian.
"This..." Mo Han looked helplessly at Daili. Seeing her gently nod at him, he finally relented and said, "Alright, I accept you both. Get up now. Two grown men acting like this is giving me goosebumps."
He then pretended to shiver, which provoked laughter from everyone.
Latin and Rock cried out in delight, "Thank you, Master."
Mo Han quickly waved his hands. "Ugh, stop calling me Master. I can't stand it. Just call me Boss."
Mo Han thought to himself, Incredible. If you were beautiful women, calling me Master would be fine, but two grown men shouting that is just weird. People will think I have a thing for men.
(In truth, in this era, guardians usually addressed their liege as Master or Head of House; it was just Mo Han who found the title uncomfortable.) "Boss," Latin and Rock repeated, testing the word. "Fine. Whatever the Master says we should call you, we will."
This gave Mo Han another wave of goosebumps. Jack, watching Rock and Latin receive Mo Han's aid and obtain what they had long dreamed of, couldn't help but grow anxious. He called out, "Boss, I swear my loyalty to you too! Take me as your disciple and guide me in my magic skills."
Mo Han replied, "Ah, I won't be taking on any formal disciples."
Seeing Jack's look of disappointment, Mo Han continued, "But I happen to have the notes of Heber, a Fire-elemental Saint Magister. They should be of great help to you."
As he spoke, Mo Han pulled a book from his spatial ring and tossed it to Jack. Jack caught it as if it were his most beloved woman, his eyes glued to the volume. Mo Han teased, "Alright, put it away quickly, and study it properly when you have time."
Daili, observing from the side, saw the deep affection in Mo Han's eyes. The impact he had on her was growing stronger with each event; he possessed martial arts techniques and magical notes from 500 years ago! What kind of person was he?
Seeing her companions receive the things they desired most, Daili felt genuine happiness for them. At that moment, Mo Han smiled at Daili and said, "Of course, I wouldn't forget my precious Daili. I have a book here that you need too."
With that, he produced a book bound in a golden cover—it was the battle aura manual of Shui Wuqing, the only Sword Saintess of that era. Kelly’s expression mirrored Jack's when she saw the book; she carefully tucked it against her chest, making Mo Han momentarily swallow hard, wishing intensely that he could transform into that manual.
Anna, standing nearby and seeing everyone receive a gift from Mo Han, couldn't help but whine coquettishly, "Brother Mo Han, Kelly and the others all got something! I want one too! It’s not fair!"
Mo Han responded, "Anna, your archery is already superb. There's not much more I can teach you. However, I can offer some suggestions for enhancement. You elves are naturally mages. What if you infused your arrows with magical elements—like frost, or fire, or perhaps acceleration? And see if you can use magic to make your arrows spin at high velocity when released; that would grant them far greater destructive power and speed. Your archery would become nearly unstoppable then."
Anna listened to Mo Han’s advice, pondered for a moment, and then suddenly jumped up joyfully, throwing her arms around Mo Han. "Brother Mo Han, you are amazing! I knew you were the best!"
This made Mo Han quite awkward. Jeez, this little brat. Daili is right here! She should only hug me when no one else is around, hehe.
Looking over at Daili, he saw her merely smiling at him without speaking, which only deepened Mo Han's embarrassment. He quickly pulled Anna away from his embrace and changed the subject. "Anna and the others have received their presents, so I should give you one too."
He pulled out two necklaces made of blue crystal from his chest, handing one to Anna and the other to Daili. Both girls exclaimed in unison, "Wow, they're beautiful!"
Each blue crystal held a white gemstone embedded at its center, making the entire necklace look incredibly noble.
Mo Han smiled and said, "Heh heh, they're more than just pretty to look at. They can block all magic of level seven and below."
Hearing this, both girls gasped in shock.
Anna spoke up, "Brother Mo Han, this is too precious. I can't accept it."
Daili's expression conveyed the same sentiment.
Mo Han replied, "Jeez, do you think I give these things away casually? These were forged by Moshuyi, the continent's foremost Saint Magister back then. He spent over a decade, pouring his heart and soul and countless premium materials, to create only four of them. Naturally, I give them to the people most important to me. Wearing these will give you extra security, and that will put my mind more at ease."
Hearing Mo Han’s words, Daili and Anna both blushed slightly, but they felt secretly overjoyed in their hearts, realizing how important they were to Mo Han. Both happily accepted the gifts.
Mo Han then said, "Alright, now let's discuss our next destination. Where should we go now?" Anna spoke up, "But all the Silver Wolf Kings are dead now. What will we use to turn in the quest?" Mo Han smacked his forehead in distress. "You're right."
He had felt great satisfaction casting that one spell, but it had blasted the few Silver Wolf Kings into so little that not even their fur remained, let alone their magic cores. Where were they supposed to find Silver Wolf King cores to complete the quest now? Money was a minor issue; reputation was paramount.
Daili suggested, "How about we go to the Magical Forest within the territory of the Heavenly Dragon Empire? There are Silver Wolves there too, and likely quite a few. Besides, isn't that where you needed to go anyway? Since all the Silver Wolf Kings around here are probably dead, the rest certainly won't show themselves."
Recalling the task his master had assigned him, Mo Han nodded in agreement. "Yes, let's do that. If anyone has any objections, speak up so we can consider them together."
Everyone naturally agreed with a nod. In their hearts, Mo Han had already become their spiritual leader.
Shortly after the group left the scene, an elderly mage in gold-trimmed robes descended from the sky. He stood beside the massive crater Mo Han had created, staring in amazement for a moment before speaking aloud, "Indeed. The intense fire magic fluctuation I sensed must have originated here. That was at least a level ten fire spell, and it seems only Meteor Shower has that kind of magical force. Who could it be?"
