Never before in the history of the Demon Race had a forging master appeared so young, and moreover, one possessing mastery over all elements! This meant that every Demon Warrior could potentially benefit from this master craftsman's skills!
A Forging Master, even one specializing in a single element, was typically an elder figure within the Demon Blacksmith Guild, usually sporting a white beard. For such a young, all-elemental Forging Master to emerge was akin to what was happening in the True Strategy Dynasty recently...
Qian Jin! Yes! Boxhett’s eyes widened abruptly; precisely, yes! Had Princess Lucifer Flowing Water actually found a young demon who might have the potential to rival the legendary Madman Qian Jin?
If that were true... Boxhett’s eyes spun rapidly, a torrent of thoughts flashing through his mind in an instant. The Princess might genuinely be qualified to contend for the throne! Her influence and power... would swell rapidly. And if this was real, if he could foster a good relationship...
"Is this... Your Highness, is what you say true?" Boxhett looked intently at Lucifer Flowing Water, "You say he is an all-elemental Forging Master? Can he forge Soul Weapons? And he’s also an Apothecary Master?"
Lucifer Flowing Water raised a hand to cover her mouth, displaying an expression of annoyance and regret, her brow furrowed with deep thought.
Watching Lucifer Flowing Water, Boxhett swallowed hard. It seemed this must be true! The Princess clearly didn't want to share this news with any other demon!
Tch! Sabonis Fibel nodded repeatedly. If he had found such an excellent retainer, he too would absolutely keep the news strictly confidential, telling no other demon!
Otherwise, if the other Princes learned of it, they might try to interfere and steal the demon!
If this demon belonged to another clan, there might be some loyalty to consider, but this demon was a hybrid of Lucifer and Mammon lineage. He possessed the arrogance of the Lucifer demons, coupled with the avarice of the Mammon demons.
It wasn't the greed itself that was frightening—it was the existence of that greed!
Sabonis Fibel became completely certain that the retainer Lucifer Flowing Water had secured was indeed as she claimed; she was merely flustered from anger earlier and had accidentally let the truth slip, which explained her current nervousness and hesitation.
"Your Highness, I believe what you said," Boxhett set down his teacup, sat up straight, and stated with a solemn and sincere expression, "If that is truly the case, then many matters certainly need to be renegotiated." Sabonis Fibel’s face, however, was deeply grim. If this was true, his chances of revenge were slim, as the Mammon Demon Elders might not agree to it.
If this was truly the case, then... he must kill this hybrid demon! A sharper, more sinister look crept onto Sabonis Fibel’s lips. He supported the Crown Prince! If this female demon obtained such an exceptional retainer, she would become an obstacle to the Crown Prince ascending the throne of the Great Demon King!
Keep him alive? Invite him to join the Crown Prince’s faction? Sabonis Fibel scoffed inwardly and shook his head—what a joke! If only one son had died, this matter might be manageable! But both his son and his heir were dead! His ability to sire further descendants was gone...
Greed, greed, greed—his entire life had been dedicated to securing a legacy for his offspring, ensuring his branch of the family became more prosperous, more powerful! Perhaps even having a chance to claim the Great Demon King’s throne in the future!
Now that his line was extinguished, what was left to consider? Kill him! Sabonis Fibel diligently concealed his murderous intent. Regardless of the Mammon Demon Elders' reaction, he would eliminate this hybrid demon!
"What I said earlier was not true..." Lucifer Flowing Water smiled faintly as she looked at Boxhett’s quizzical expression, "Alright, I admit, everything I said before was the truth. This is also why I am so determined to protect him."
Just as I suspected!
Boxhett inwardly cried out. This time, sheer luck had struck! Sabonis Fibel’s death was worth it, truly worth it! Gaining such valuable intelligence—even if the entire Sabonis clan were wiped out, it would have been worthwhile!
The last shred of hope in Sabonis Fibel’s heart vanished, while a look of relief dawned on Boxhett’s face.
Thank heavens! Thank heavens he hadn't resorted to any schemes against that hybrid demon last night; offending such a powerful being would have brought truly enormous trouble.
"This... Your Highness, it's not that I don't believe you. But..." Boxhett appeared somewhat awkward, "Could you let me see for myself? If I don't witness it in person..."
"Seeing is possible," Lucifer Flowing Water’s expression showed slight difficulty, "But once you have seen, none of you are allowed to let the news leak to the outside world..."
"Of course," Boxhett chuckled incessantly, "I have no desire to let other factions know about such an outstanding hybrid demon."
Lucifer Flowing Water gave Boxhett a smile that acknowledged his shrewdness and turned to walk toward the great hall entrance, "Follow me. He should be forging a Battle Weapon for me right now. I need a shield that is small enough for easy carrying and combat, yet sturdy enough not to obstruct my line of sight."
Sabonis Fibel followed behind with a dark expression, his mind rapidly cycling through various strategies. Should he strike Jiliu Feijing the moment he saw him?
No! Attacking him now would ensure he couldn't escape punishment! He needed to be more cautious and find a secret time to strike! If he absolutely couldn't kill him, then he would publicize the hybrid’s existence. Surely, besides demons eager to recruit him, there would be factions eager to eliminate him as well, wouldn't there?
Boxhettyler followed behind the group, feeling curious. How could forging be taking place in his City Lord’s mansion without his knowledge? He employed several blacksmiths himself! Wouldn’t they report to him if a demon requested the use of a forge?
Clang... clang... clang...
The sounds of forging from the Ironworks Yard rose and fell. The hammer strikes were not fast, yet they possessed an indescribable, peculiar rhythm—a special tempo Boxhettyler had never heard before.
Boxhettyler rushed ahead two steps and pushed open the Ironworks door, discovering that the blacksmiths he had hired were all standing in a special semi-circle around a single forge, encircling Jiliu Feijing in the center.
What was this... Boxhettyler didn't understand forging, but he understood how to read the expressions of demons. These blacksmiths, who usually looked down their noses at the City Lord, now had eyes shining with nothing but pure adoration! Not just adoration, but... tears!
Boxhettyler genuinely wondered if his eyes were playing tricks on him; two blacksmiths were actually weeping while watching Jiliu Feijing’s movements!
"What is going on? What does this mean? What in the world is happening?" Boxhettyler whispered to one of the blacksmiths, only to be met with a string of rolls of the eyes and an angry, annoyed retort: "Shut up!"
Shut up? Boxhettyler stood with the other demons by the railway, watching as Jiliu Feijing controlled one large sledgehammer, then transitioned to using both hands to wield two striking hammers, forging the metal as they flew up and down. The piece of metal fluttered between the twin hammer blows like a viper fluttering amongst flowers, yet never escaping their impact.
No wonder he uses hammers as weapons... Boxhettyler nodded involuntarily. The way he wielded those hammers was too magnificent, too beautiful!
Sabonis Fibel watched Qian Jin, secretly clenching his magic staff. Suddenly, he felt his wrist seized tightly by a demon. Looking up, he saw Boxhett’s lips curled into a smug, knowing smile.
"Don't think I don't know what you're planning," Boxhett’s cold voice reached Sabonis Fibel’s ear, "We are all Mammon demons; how could I not know your intentions? This kid's forging skill is probably even better than we imagined. I won't allow you to make a reckless move."
Sabonis Fibel glared fiercely at Boxhett. He was a Legendary Mage of the Black Elf bloodline; this individual beside him was a Demon Warrior of the Thunder Eagle bloodline!
Powerful mages do not fear close combat, but when pitted against a bloodline Demon Warrior of the same tier, no mage willingly engages in such unsuitable physical confrontation.
However, Sabonis Fibel could not entirely disagree with Boxhett’s assessment—this young demon was far more exceptional than anticipated.
Even a Forging Master requires a significant amount of time to forge a single Battle Weapon. The higher the rank of the Battle Weapon, the longer the required forging duration.
Forging a Rank Ten Battle Weapon required an astonishing amount of time, even for a master craftsman.
Yet, this young Forging Master seemed to be challenging the very concept of forging as demons understood it. Although the shield was not yet complete, the experts present could already tell it was no longer an ordinary shield, but a Battle Weapon—only its current rank was insufficient.
How long had this hybrid demon been in the City Lord’s mansion? He spent last night sleeping and only rose this morning to forge. Even so, he had already elevated the shield to Battle Weapon status, and it appeared he intended to continue increasing its rank.
Even the Demon Blacksmith General Guild located in the Fallen City did not have a single smith capable of forging a Battle Weapon in such a short time!
At least, in terms of forging speed, this young hybrid demon was likely the fastest blacksmith in the entire Demon Race today.
Perhaps... Sabonis Fibel frowned. Perhaps even the current number one blacksmith, that old dwarf, couldn't forge a Battle Weapon in such a short timeframe?
Boxhettyler could only swallow hard; this speed was simply too astonishing! Not provoking him yesterday had been the most correct decision.
Otherwise... the Elder Council might pay an enormous price just to recruit this young man... perhaps even...
Boxhettyler felt that if yesterday Sabonis Fibel hadn't just died, but if he himself had been killed by this young hybrid demon, the Elder Council, upon realizing the hybrid's value, might have simply dismissed the incident as if nothing had happened?
