Stay calm! He hasn't noticed us! Absolutely not!

Fortunate for the two girls, they had experienced countless battles before and possessed strong mental fortitude. Though that werewolf's gaze gave them a jolt of fear, they quickly composed themselves and remained silent.

Werewolves were habitual creatures. When full moon arrived, their power would reach maximum augmentation, leaving behind this habit - raising their heads to look at the sky. Normally or when deep in thought, werewolves would occasionally lift their gazes toward heavens.

This habit of werewolves was well known among most demon species, and these two girls certainly knew it too. Some demons had even tried using this weakness against werewolves, but that idea proved utterly wrong. During battles (except under full moon), werewolves never divided attention by raising their heads - their focus was so intense it bordered on horrifying.

Therefore though the werewolf now lifted his head toward where they were hiding, the girls still believed he couldn't possibly notice them. After all, although werewolves had keen five senses, they lacked ability to see through objects or detect hidden presences. Right now, their bodies were completely concealed behind dense foliage, with no trace of demonic aura left. Theoretically speaking, unless facing some super werewolf, it was impossible for him to find them.

Their calm minds saved them. In fact, this particular werewolf really didn't notice them. After gazing upward for several seconds, he lowered his head again... This action made the two girls exhale with relief. Though danger still lingered, at least for now he remained unaware of their presence.

This werewolf probably felt hungry or just had a craving. He took a few steps forward, grabbed the rabbit meat missing two legs from the fire pile, then crushed the flames with his foot and opened his jaw full of fangs to devour it, even chewing through bones directly.

Youxiang watched her painstakingly caught and roasted rabbit being eaten down to the last bone by this werewolf. Her teeth gritted together as she silently cursed: "Damn greedy werewolf! How dare you eat my food? Choke on it! Even if you don't choke, I'll make heaven drop lightning bolts to kill you!"

If she were a curse specialist her words might have worked, but she wasn't. And since this werewolf was one of the strongest demons, he obviously wouldn't die from eating rabbit meat. As for divine punishment... Well that depended on whether Heaven happened to be a lolicon. But seeing how these two lovely girls were getting such rough treatment, it seemed obvious Heaven didn't enjoy cute girls.

Soon after, the werewolf finished his meal and patted his stomach with an expression of lingering dissatisfaction.

Youxiang and Xiuzi had originally thought this place having no other demons meant the werewolf would leave after eating. But to their surprise, he didn't go away at all. Instead he wandered around aimlessly, seemingly doing something mysterious yet unclear.

This made Youxiang curious. She glanced at Xiuzi questioningly with a blink of her eyes - implying: "What's going on? Did this werewolf come here randomly?"

Xiuzi also looked puzzled and shook her head to indicate she didn't know either.

But after short moment, she gave Youxiang an ambivalent glance suggesting: "Look at that werewolf's dejected appearance. I think he must be heartbroken."

Conveying such complex meaning through eye contact was almost as difficult as signing in sign language. Yet surprisingly Youxiang immediately understood and responded with a dismissive stare implying: "Forget it, he just ate happily before. How could he be depressed? Besides, werewolves are cruel bloodthirsty demons - how could they even fall in love! If that's true I'll eat this tree!"

The two girls had completely forgotten their danger as they began discussing whether the werewolf was heartbroken - proving how scattered-minded they truly were.

However just when Youxiang finished expressing her disdain toward the werewolf, he suddenly sighed and leaned against the opposite tree. With melancholic expression, he muttered: "My first love in life has ended... How could this happen? After all, I'm considered the most handsome werewolf of our clan."

The moment these words left his mouth, Youxiang on that tree instantly froze.

Xiuzi watched with interest and blinked at her suggesting: "Looks like you should eat some tree now."

Youxiang avoided Xiuzi's gaze instinctively, pretending she hadn't said anything. Yet inwardly she couldn't help but rant: "This damned werewolf actually falls in love? Just go die already! And that 'most handsome' title is self-proclaimed? Look at your ugly face!"

Though fellow demons, Youxiang had always viewed werewolves as monstrous killing machines due to their cruelty. In her eyes they were emotionless creatures. But she'd forgotten - all intelligent beings have emotions. Though brutal, werewolves had their own civilization needing reproduction... Which required love-making! Even ordinary animals need romance before mating (though most use violence), so it was natural for werewolves to experience heartbreak.

So this particular werewolf feeling heartbroken wasn't unusual at all.

Of course the "most handsome" claim still needed verification.

But probably there'd be no proof since all werewolves looked nearly identical except body size. Unless judging by their own aesthetic standards, which would require another life's worth of understanding.

"Since ancient times lovers have wasted away with sorrow... This is truly an endlessly lonely day..." The werewolf stood up and gazed at the sky wistfully, suddenly exuding intense artistic energy.

This time not only Youxiang but even Xiuzi stared in shock as this bloodthirsty werewolf turned unexpectedly poetic. But before they could ponder further, his next words instantly revealed his true nature:

"This kind of day is perfect for killing. I want to see some blood spilling to ease my melancholy. Then, the little creature hiding up there on that tree... I've already sensed your demonic aura. Since you heard my tragic story, why don't you come out so I can vent properly?"

As he spoke, his eyes suddenly turned blood-red with murderous intent.

The girls' hearts skipped a beat. Just when they thought they'd been discovered...

Suddenly the werewolf lunged violently toward another nearby tree... BANG!

A jet of blood instantly spurted through the air.

So fast that it became invisible to the eye, he had already stood still again, his hands smeared with crimson. At his feet lay a dark shape oozing blood.

"Tsk tsk, just some undeveloped minor demon who couldn't even take human form... Such a waste of my excitement." The werewolf licked his nails with tongue while saying this, his expression clearly dissatisfied.

The two girls had no idea there was another demon hiding here. It turned out the werewolf stayed because of that creature. Their failure to detect it wasn't due to insufficient stealth skills - but rather because its demonic aura was too weak for their current level to sense.

At seeing how effortlessly he killed, they felt even more fear. Though already aware of his brutality, witnessing actual combat made him seem far more terrifying than mere rumors could convey.

This further solidified their decision not to fight this werewolf at all.

Yet sometimes one cannot avoid battle no matter how much one wants to. Just as the werewolf turned around to leave, likely still affected by previous kill, a squirrel leaped from that tree and ran frantically... Unfortunately it ended up on the girls' hiding spot and crashed directly into Xiuzi's face.

"Ah!" Startled by the impact, Xiuzi instinctively cried out. The concealment immediately broke - though for just an instant, her demonic aura had already leaked. That werewolf instantly sensed it... In fact even without detecting energy signatures, he would have heard the sound alone.

"Haha! Two more demons hiding here? You two are truly skilled at remaining undetected by me!" The werewolf turned around laughing as he eagerly charged toward them.

"Run!" Knowing their hiding was now futile and neither being prone to panic under pressure, the girls didn't hesitate even for a moment. At first sign of exposure they immediately sprinted away in opposite direction.

But their speed proved too slow compared to him - like snails against lightning. Just as they took few steps, he blocked them completely with blinding speed.

"Damn it!" Youxiang gritted her teeth, suddenly gathering all power and delivering a mighty punch toward the werewolf... BANG!

After all she was an established young demon with great strength capable of shattering massive rocks. But...

The werewolf didn't even glance at it, letting that punch hit him directly without moving.

Meanwhile Xiuzi shot out a ray of energy like laser breaking through air... This was her strongest attack able to pierce demons' flesh easily. However!

With just one hand raised slightly, the werewolf's fingernails deflected her beam effortlessly.

Their two strongest attacks had zero effect on this werewolf.

"How could that be?!" The girls' faces suddenly changed drastically. Though they knew he was powerful, this disparity was too extreme! They couldn't even break through his defenses!

"Good little creatures - though weak you still have courage to fight me directly. Haha! What a joyful day indeed! Since I'm free now, let's play around properly!" The werewolf gazed at them with appreciative eyes as he laughed heartily, red bloodlust swirling in his gaze.

Being praised by the werewolf was definitely not good news - it meant he would torture you to death.

Knowing this truth, Youxiang and Xiuzi couldn't help but feel sheer terror building within.
