Perhaps many people missed yesterday's single chapter update, so let me briefly recap. Last night, the administrator was clearing out the group, which accidentally kicked out many readers. This incident has been explained in the review section.
If anyone has lingering doubts, I apologize on behalf of the administrator, and I sincerely hope the accidentally removed readers will return. Since uploading the first chapter of this book on April 5th last year, we’ve been through rough waters for 14 months. The book hasn't been a success, and I haven't been a successful author either.
There were times when the setbacks nearly made me want to abandon the project entirely. Yet, I’ve persisted until now and plan to keep going, precisely because there are still people supporting me, and because I myself deeply desire to finish writing this story. Over these 14 months, through thick and thin, I’ve learned a great deal and matured considerably.
Every wave of trouble has been a testament to my growth. However, being constantly plagued by trivial matters has inevitably weighed heavily on my mind. But that ends now.
In order to quietly complete the remaining volumes, from this point forward, I will concern myself with nothing but writing. Whether in the group chat or elsewhere, I want nothing more to do with petty distractions. Lou must always remember: I am a writer, not a neighborhood committee busybody mediating disputes, much less some emissary of justice.
My sole duty is to dedicate myself entirely to writing, and nothing else! That diminutive Wind Breath God, as slight as a young girl, under Lei’s command, suddenly became immensely vast, its nostrils enormous. Even the magnificent and towering Seven-Colored Sacred Tree paled in comparison.
Two vortexes, like immense arms, radiating unparalleled power, gently enveloped the Sacred Tree. Then, as the Wind Breath God uttered a sound like a song, the massive Seven-Colored Sacred Tree was wrenched from the earth. The entire ground trembled, and even this canyon seemed on the verge of collapse with the tree’s departure.
But Lei would not halt; as the Wind Breath God carried the Sacred Tree into the mid-air, the deity instantly dissolved into a soft breeze, wrapping around it entirely. The Wind Breath God then began to slowly contract, causing the Seven-Colored Sacred Tree within to shrink gradually until, when the deity returned to Lei’s side, the Sacred Tree had diminished into a tiny sapling small enough to be held in one hand. “This way, there will be no more worries,” Lei said, a genuine smile gracing her face as she held the tiny Seven-Colored sapling.
Although her power was insufficient to fully resurrect the tree, as long as she lived, the Wind Breath God could ensure the tree’s survival. Upon returning to the Bright Realm, the Sacred Tree would once again receive the world’s blessing. BOOM!!!
At that precise moment, a deafening, earth-shattering roar echoed through the canyon. Centered on the deep pit from which the Seven-Colored Sacred Tree had been uprooted, the entire land began to collapse downward. The Sacred Tree had been the source of support for this land; without it, the ground naturally could not sustain itself.
“No time to delay, let’s go,” Lin Luo urged immediately. Both he and Lei could fly, so the collapsing earth posed little direct threat, but caution was paramount. “En,” Lei nodded, and then the two blasted open the sealed canyon entrance and soared into the sky.
The collapse did not last long—about five minutes—before the canyon that once housed the Seven-Colored Sacred Tree vanished completely into the ground, transforming into a flat expanse covered by thick, undisturbed snow, leaving no trace of dissonance, as if the landscape had always looked this way. Lei hovered in the air, appearing somewhat melancholic. Yet, when her gaze fell upon the Seven-Colored Sacred Tree beside her, a sense of comfort washed over her.
At least the continuation of the Holy War Angel race was preserved. “Forget it, let’s return to the Aidiru Garden,” Lin Luo said, withdrawing his gaze from the ground. Their outward journey had been slow, constrained by the need to search in multiple locations.
Returning, however, allowed them a direct route. Despite covering nearly half a continent’s distance, the two arrived back at the Aidiru Garden in just under half a day. Their journey had taken a full twenty days, during which they maintained no contact.
When Xi Ya learned of their return, she immediately exited the Queen's Hall to greet them, accompanied by Lanzhu, Mingyin, and the others. Lin Luo briefly recounted the events, and everyone sighed with shared emotion. The matter concerning the Far East Land was finally concluded.
As the saying goes, if this place won't keep you, another will. Since this world no longer had a place for the Seven-Colored Sacred Tree, they were all willing to accept taking it to Lin Luo’s world. The next issue was the matter of the population of this world.
Lin Luo had initially considered using the World Gate to transport some people over, but that was a one-time opportunity, making the selection process extremely difficult. However, during the preceding twenty days, he had glimpsed another path—the pocket watch given to him by Yaoyao. Yaoyao had said the watch had two functions: first, to differentiate timelines, and second, to grant him the ability he needed once he understood his role in this world.
Lin Luo fully understood what he was meant to do in this world, and he even knew what assistance the watch could offer. But before that, he had one more task requiring his attention. “The Holy War Angel Protection Association?” In the President's office, Grearss was surprised when Lin Luo brought up that organization at this time.
Although Lin Luo had inquired about it initially, Grearss wondered about the timing now. Lin Luo nodded. “Yes, I need to discuss the matter of the Holy War Angels they protect with the association’s high command.
Please contact them for me.” After five years, the Aidiru Garden and the Association had established an excellent relationship. With the Garden’s support, Lin Luo’s old friends, like Xiska, now held very high positions within the Association. Xiska, in particular, had risen to the second-in-command role.
Since the top leader rarely involved himself in management, and given Xiska’s youthful vigor, she managed most of the Association’s affairs. Lin Luo had been in this world for over twenty days, but being tied up by the Far East Land had prevented him from visiting the Holy War Angel Protection Association. Now, whether for official business or simply a friendly visit, making prior contact was necessary.
Though filled with questions, Grearss did not refuse and dialed the Association’s number directly. The person who answered was Xiska. Although she now had an assistant, as the President of the Aidiru Garden, Grearss outranked everyone except the hands-off Queen.
Both held ultimate authority within their respective organizations, and to foster deeper cooperation, certain matters could not be shared with subordinates, necessitating a private line. “What! That guy is coming here?” As soon as Grearss finished speaking, Xiska’s roaring voice erupted over the phone, followed by the sound of frantic rummaging.
Not only was Grearss stunned, but even Lin Luo was left speechless. Despite reaching such a high position, she remained so immature. However, the tone on the call was unchanged from five years ago, suggesting her long-held dream hadn't altered either.
Xiska had long known Lin Luo had returned to the Aidiru Garden, but like him, she hadn't found the time to visit. Hearing that Lin Luo intended to call on her, she immediately agreed. This time, Lin Luo went to the Holy War Angel Protection Association alone, without any entourage.
There was no grand welcoming ceremony; upon reaching the vicinity of the Association, he was met by a girl claiming to be Xiska’s assistant, who led him directly to Xiska’s office. “Don’t move, hands up, you brute!” As Lin Luo stepped into the room, he was suddenly greeted by a sinister voice. Turning, he saw Xiska pointing a gun at him, her face alight with murderous intent.
Lin Luo looked at her for a second, then surveyed the room, left and right. “Your office is quite humble. If I didn't know you were the Association's second-in-command, I’d think you were just an accountant.” “Hey, hey, your reaction is a bit strange; I’m pointing a gun at you!” Xiska’s hostility instantly deflated into disappointment as she shouted.
“If my reaction were normal, you’d be facing a headless senior,” Lin Luo scanned her up and down, then suddenly laughed. “You truly haven't changed in five years, neither your personality nor… your figure.” “What did you say?!” Lin Luo’s remark struck Xiska’s sensitive spot, immediately raising her anger level to max. Her great desire was to become a perfect woman, but for some inexplicable reason, her body refused to fully develop.
Even after five years, her chest remained an A-cup. Well, in industry terms, one might call it a loli physique. “Alright, enough of that.
Where are Longwei and Qiya?” Seeing signs of her temper flaring, Lin Luo quickly changed the subject. Xiska sighed, conceding defeat. Against this person, she had never gained the upper hand; she was always the one left exasperated.
“They are out of town on business. Although the Oerkernard organization was destroyed five years ago, and most of the attached Radiant Gem Hunters were either captured or killed, there will always be unscrupulous merchants in the world. Longwei and the others are dealing with the most troublesome one of those Radiant Gem Hunter groups.” “I see.
Do you need help?” “Help? Don’t make me laugh. We can handle this minor issue easily,” Xiska retorted with a sideways glance, then grew serious.
“So, what is this important matter you wanted to discuss? Surely you didn't just come here to mock my figure?” Lin Luo grimaced. It seemed not only many men but women too were keenly sensitive about that particular subject.
Seeing she was still somewhat irritated, Lin Luo decided not to pour gasoline on the fire and got straight to the point. “Simply put, I want to take away the Holy War Angels currently protected by your Association.” “What? That’s impossible!” Xiska was utterly shocked, never imagining this was Lin Luo’s purpose.
She flatly refused; if she handed over all the Holy War Angels, the Angel Protection Association would become redundant. “The existence of the Protection Association is to safeguard the Holy War Angels and ensure they live happy lives. But what kind of life truly constitutes happiness for them?” Lin Luo smiled calmly.
“Don’t rush to refuse. I came to discuss this with you, not to force you. Out of friendship, I won't use force to pressure you.
In reality, the decision doesn't rest with you or me; it rests with the Holy War Angels themselves.” “You mean they decide for themselves?” Hearing this, Xiska finally softened her stance. She was well aware of Lin Luo’s power; if he had come with coercion, he certainly wouldn't have done so alone. “Of course.
Shouldn’t everyone decide how they want to live?” Lin Luo stated seriously. “I am merely presenting an alternative path now. Whether they choose the environment you provide or the environment I offer, only they can determine that.” Xiska sat in her seat, closed her eyes, and contemplated.
She could not deny that what Lin Luo said held merit. Although the Protection Association had changed significantly, the protected Holy War Angels were not truly happy. While they lacked worries about safety and material life, their spirits felt profoundly empty—a fact Xiska understood better than anyone.
If Lin Luo could truly offer a better environment than their Association... “Fine, let them decide for themselves!” Xiska finally stood up and declared.
