To all the readers who care for me, please do not worry; this small squall is still well within my capacity to manage. Though I may be an emotional writer, I won't let my feelings spoil my book. For those waiting to see me fail or be brought low, save your efforts; the readers who support me and this book will not be deterred by a few careless words. When I wrote about Youli Zi, I said that while many loved her, many also hated her, but she would never care. In truth, I was saying that to myself. I never expected everyone's support; having one or two out of ten would already be a great stroke of luck, yet what I see now is far more than just one or two.
Since so many people support me, what is there left to fear? Since no matter what I do, I will draw criticism from certain quarters, why should I concern myself with it?
It is said: "When the world slanders me, deceives me, insults me, laughs at me, belittles me, and despises me, how should I respond? Simply tolerate him, let him be, avoid him, leave him be, endure him, respect him, and ignore him. In a few years, just watch him."
I walk my own path, with a clear conscience, upright and noble. Human nature holds both good and evil; as a mere writer, why should I obsess over trifles? Those cold glances and scornful laughs are but flowers in the mist, the moon in the water, yet I do not lose my warmth.
The Easternmost Land, the origin point of the Dreamlike Race, the Holy War Angels, is a place about which no one knows the location or nature. Not only are ordinary people ignorant of it, but even the Royal Seven-Luminaries Trees among the Holy War Angels have no knowledge of it.
This place of origin was submerged in history long ago. There is only one event capable of rekindling the Seven-Luminaries Trees' memory of their birthplace: the convergence of three Seven-Luminaries Trees whose restrictors have been removed.
Lei's restrictor had been lifted long ago; she could activate or deactivate it at will and could even assist other Seven-Luminaries Trees in removing theirs. Lan Zhu and Ming Yin did not intensely crave power—especially Ming Yin, who was content with living each day safely, healthily, and happily, able to sing with true freedom. However, this did not mean they lacked curiosity. Regarding the restrictors on the Seven-Luminaries Trees, it was not just they themselves; the strongest dormant bloodline within their bodies was also attempting to awaken them.
Lei’s removal of their restrictors came without side effects; even if something unforeseen occurred, she could intervene in time. With such a guarantee, Lan Zhu and Ming Yin had no reason to hesitate any longer.
Yet, the moment they released their restrictors, a strange event unfolded. The profound, long-dormant memories within their bodies suddenly awakened, surging out. Even Lei felt somewhat unsteady from the impact of this memory—not because the memory's power was overwhelming, but due to the sheer instinct of the Seven-Luminaries Trees.
As for Xiya, being an ordinary Holy War Angel, she simply lost consciousness immediately.
“We must go to the Easternmost Land.” Upon recovering from the memory shock, Lei uttered only these words. Lan Zhu and Ming Yin both agreed. Though Xiya felt worried, she understood this was a monumental event for the Holy War Angels, potentially impacting their very survival. Despite her concerns, she could not object.
And Lin Luo? Naturally, he would not object either.
Thus, the decision was settled. Xiya had initially planned to accompany Lei, but as the Queen, while she didn't need to worry about state affairs, venturing into an unknown region was impossible. Even Lin Luo opposed her departure. Xiya, helpless, remained at the Ediru Garden.
Lan Zhu, as one of the few remaining Seven-Luminaries Trees and one of the instigators of the event, should have gone. However, natural disasters had recently afflicted the regions surrounding Ediru Garden, necessitating a top-tier expert to remain as a safeguard. Furthermore, her contracted partner, Haruo, could not leave. Going alone would be useless. Like Xiya, she stayed behind.
Ming Yin’s contracted partner, the former President, had passed away five years prior; their bond was like that of a father and daughter. Though young, she possessed deep understanding and did not resent Lin Luo for the former President’s death. Instead, she had formed a close relationship with Lei, another Seven-Luminaries Tree. Since then, however, she had not sought a new contracted partner.
And a Holy War Angel without a contracted partner—even a Seven-Luminaries Tree—was inherently fragile.
Ultimately, only Lin Luo and Lei set out to find the Easternmost Land.
Despite the guidance of profound memories, locating a place unknown to anyone in such a vast world was no easy task. For over ten days, Lin Luo and Lei drifted aimlessly across the skies in the airship they brought from Ediru Garden, failing to find any concrete location or clue.
Along the way, they visited the village where the sisters Liliya and Lassati resided. After sharing the joy of their reunion and resting at the sisters' home for a night, they departed the next day.
Finally, on the twentieth day, they located the Easternmost Land.
It was an immense, desolate expanse covered entirely in ice and snow, far removed from human habitation. As the airship descended onto the vast white snowfield, it froze solid due to the intense cold, rendering further flight impossible.
“No wonder no one ever knew where the origin land was. Even a flying airship can freeze here; ordinary people wouldn't dare advance,” Lin Luo mused somewhat after disembarking. The temperature here was extremely low, likely a place even Holy War Angels would hesitate to enter. If this was indeed the origin of the Holy War Angels, it explained why so few people knew of it.
Only those like him, or those who were fully prepared, could ignore such a climate.
But Lei suddenly shook her head, her expression grave. “No, that’s not right. From my memories, this place was supposed to be warm. The reason no one knew of it was that ordinary people simply couldn't see the place. But now…”
“Is that so?”
Lin Luo said nothing more, merely nodding, and walked forward with Lei. While the environmental conditions were harsh, for the two of them, it was akin to a mild spring day. Soon, after navigating through perilous terrain, they beheld a gigantic gateway connecting two valleys.
The gate stood several dozen meters high, situated perfectly between a massive fissure in the earth. That gorge spread out in both directions, covered in layers of white snow, resembling an immense wall.
“It seems this is the place,” Lin Luo said, observing the colossal door. While it lacked the sheer grandeur of the one at the Hall of Inhibitory Force, it still presented a magnificent sight.
“Mm,” Lei nodded, leading the way forward. Placing both hands gently on the gate, she pushed outward.
Crrreeeak!
The moment the door swung open, the two of them froze. A thousand meters away, a towering, multicolored Sacred Tree shimmered with a faint, crystalline light. Even from that distance, they could clearly perceive the tree's beauty and majesty—perhaps it was precisely because of the distance that they could witness its entirety.
“This must be the Rainbow Sacred Tree tied to the continuation of the Holy War Angel race,” even Lin Luo was momentarily stunned upon seeing it. The grandest, most beautiful trees he had witnessed were the World Tree of Mahoraga Academy and the Saiyōki of the White Jade Tower, but they paled in comparison to this Rainbow Sacred Tree.
If Lin Luo was merely stunned by the tree’s beauty, Lei was captivated by the tree itself. After standing motionless for a few seconds, she suddenly floated forward like a breeze, covering the distance in a blink to stand beneath the tree, gazing upward. The mist of tears began to gather in her entranced eyes.
Lin Luo also stood beneath the tree. Viewing it from afar allowed him to grasp the whole picture, but it lacked the immediate impact. Now, besides feeling the tree’s greatness, he finally understood what it truly was.
The familiar life aura, the crystalline, ever-changing colors, and the various elemental energies permeating the space… this Rainbow Sacred Tree was unquestionably the divine tree that gave birth to the Holy War race!
Perhaps if a Holy War Angel combined with a human and bore a girl, that girl might become a Holy War Angel, but her bloodline would be impure. Truly pure-blooded Holy War Angels were born directly from this tree.
The Rainbow Sacred Tree formed a canopy, and beneath its main structure, each branch bore a nucleoid stone. At the very top were seven noticeably distinct branches, each also bearing a nucleoid stone. However, these seven stones atop were dull and lifeless, appearing completely devoid of vital energy.
Why was Lefi the final bloodline of Mezaranth?
Because this Rainbow Sacred Tree could no longer illuminate the seven stones at its apex. Those very branches, which originally nurtured the Seven-Luminaries Trees, had lost the ability to sustain life. They were only being maintained by a tenacious will to live—sustaining not just themselves, but the entire Rainbow Sacred Tree!
“The Holy War Angels were a blessing from the world. This Rainbow Sacred Tree, cultivated by the world’s power, was originally intended to help humanity become happier and cherish this land more deeply. But human greed, combined with the immense power of the Holy War Angels, fundamentally twisted that original intention…”
Standing beneath the great tree, Lei wiped the tears from her eyes and spoke softly. “Because the rarity and immense value of the Holy War Angels, some humans began capturing them for profit. Because humanity treated the Holy War Angels as mere tools, those who once fought alongside humans began to despise them. Coldness and distance grew between these two formerly intimate races, eventually erupting into an irrecoverable war. In that conflict, some humans aided the Holy War Angels against their own kind, and some Holy War Angels helped humans slay their own kind—without purpose, without hope, driven only by the clash between the two races.”
“When the initial purpose was corrupted, the world’s blessing ceased. Relying only on the stored nutrients, the Rainbow Sacred Tree could still gestate Holy War Angels, but that was the limit.” At this point, Lei could no longer hold back her sobs. “Having lost hope, having lost the mutual affection between the two races, when everything began prioritizing self-interest, the world abandoned everyone.”
“Lei,” Lin Luo didn't know how to comfort her, so he gently patted her shoulder and smiled. “I think there’s still a chance for salvage.” Seeing the girl’s puzzled gaze, Lin Luo explained, “Did you forget? Who guided us here? Not humanity, nor the Holy War Angels, but this Rainbow Sacred Tree itself. Even if the world and humans have forsaken it, it will not forsake itself. It has held on stubbornly until now, hoping that one day you would arrive here and allow it to manifest the vitality it was meant to possess.”
“Can the Rainbow Sacred Tree really be revived?”
“Of course. You should know better than anyone—isn’t that why we came here?”
“Yes, I almost forgot. I apologize.” A smile finally touched the girl’s lips as she dried her tears and turned her gaze toward the Rainbow Sacred Tree. “The purpose of my coming here is for the continuation of my race. I absolutely… absolutely will not let it end like this!”
Though the girl’s voice was not loud, it carried an iron resolve.
“God of Wind’s Breath!”
Suddenly, the girl spread her arms, and a figure, bearing a three-to-four-tenths resemblance to her and composed entirely of wind, materialized behind her.
“Take our family home!”
The God of Wind’s Breath opened its eyes, and its originally small form instantly grew immense. Wind, like giant arms, gently enveloped the Rainbow Sacred Tree and began to slowly lift it upward…
