This novel was first released on July 21st, and after more than three months on Zongheng, I am profoundly grateful to all the readers for your viewing and attention over these months. I know the writing isn't perfect, but I ask for your understanding—this is the debut work of a novice author.

I initially approached this purely as something to write for fun, and only later, upon its official release, did I get a contract. I am not a professional writer; I have a career in the real world, and writing is merely a personal passion. Just a few days after starting on Zongheng, I gained readers, which cemented my resolve to see the novel through to completion. I would never abandon it, no matter how poorly I felt I was writing it... because that, too, is a form of responsibility.

The initial spark for this novel came from reading Qiu Wuyu’s Gui An Zu (The Ghost Case Squad). I deeply admire the novels written by Qiu Wuyu and have always regarded him as an idol. Therefore, this "Ghost Case" style is a tribute to Mr. Qiu Wuyu.

I remain incredibly thankful to the two editors at Zongheng, "Da Xia" and "Hulu," for taking such good care of Ziye over these past three months, and an even deeper thanks to editor "Tian Bian Liu Yun" for having recognized this work of mine!
