As long as it did not enter the cloud mist zone, it would not trigger the siege of the "Chaotic Immortal Qi..." Thus, the capture of this wisp of Immortal Qi caused no disturbance among the remaining ones. However, some of the thicker wisps of Immortal Qi often patrolled the periphery, and any path they blocked would result in a collision.
Concealing himself within the radiant mist ensured that there would be no interference during the process of refining the Immortal Qi.
Leaning against the side wall of the spatial domain, Nie Kong quieted his mind, pushing the "Chaotic Divine Art" to its absolute limit. Divine power surged forth like a spring, gushing out, causing the flames to burn ever brighter.
"Hoo! Hoo..."
The Immortal Qi thrashed with increasing intensity, whipping up gusts of howling wind.
The "Chaotic Immortal Qi" seemed to possess an instinctual dread of the seven-colored mist radiating from the spatial wall; upon entering its boundary, its resistance actually intensified slightly. This was likely because this specific "Chaotic Immortal Qi" had been captured and confined here by the Seven-Colored Supreme Venerable.
Fortunately, this wisp of Immortal Qi was the most delicate; Nie Kong could barely manage to suppress it.
"Refining this Immortal Qi is truly arduous!"
Not long passed before Nie Kong's internal divine power was more than half depleted, yet the resistance of the "Chaotic Immortal Qi" remained fiercely strong, having only slightly diminished. This filled Nie Kong with astonishment.
In a flash of thought, Nie Kong’s physique swelled dramatically as he activated the "Crimson Star Battle Body."
The force in his palms increased immeasurably, while the rate at which the Chaotic Divine Power overflowed began to slow, causing the blaze to diminish by about thirty percent.
The difficulty of refining the Immortal Qi far exceeded Nie Kong’s imagination. At this juncture, he had to divert a portion of his focus to recover his divine power to ensure a sustained effort.
Fortunately, the "Seven-Colored Immortal Domain" was saturated with incredibly dense divine power elements.
"Buzz!"
The surrounding void fluctuated, and divine power elements swept in like a whirlwind, swirling around Nie Kong.
Nie Kong divided his attention, refining on one hand and absorbing on the other.
The various divine power elements poured into Nie Kong’s body like crashing tidal waves, one after another. Driven by the "Chaotic Divine Art," the mass of milky-white chaos transformed into a crucible, continuously converting the divine power elements into Chaotic Divine Power, replenishing Nie Kong's expenditure.
Time slipped away quietly; the inherent resistance contained within the "Chaotic Immortal Qi" was slowly being ground down by the Heavenly Fire...
At the entrance to the Immortal Domain, outside the seven-colored vortex.
"Excellent!"
The voice of the Seven-Colored Supreme Venerable suddenly shattered the surrounding silence. The sternness on his face relaxed considerably, and a hint of a smile touched his brow.
Gu Quan was initially surprised, then delighted, "Master, has Junior Brother Nie Kong succeeded?"
Since Nie Kong entered the "Seven-Colored Immortal Domain," the two of them had been standing guard here; a full ten days had passed.
"Indeed. The first strand of 'Chaotic Immortal Qi' is nearly completely refined."
The Seven-Colored Supreme Venerable’s tone carried a note of ease, "This is his first time refining Immortal Qi, and the difficulty is immense. Once he absorbs this strand, the subsequent ones will be much smoother. It seems he should be able to reach the Ninth Grade Spirit God realm by absorbing thirty-three strands of 'Chaotic Immortal Qi' within nine months."
The anxiety in Gu Quan’s heart finally eased.
"Let’s go. There is no longer a need to watch this place."
As the Seven-Colored Supreme Venerable finished speaking, he vanished into thin air. Gu Quan stood up, glanced at the seven-colored vortex, and then stepped into the void, departing from the area.
"Whoosh!"
The amplitude of the Immortal Qi's twisting grew smaller, the sound of it tearing through the air barely audible.
Nie Kong abruptly ceased drawing in the divine power elements, transferring all his concentration onto the Immortal Qi. Chaotic Divine Power surged violently from his palms; instantly, the flames roared skyward, reaching heights of twenty or thirty meters. This pocket of void even emitted a series of crackling pops under the combustion of the "Chaotic Heavenly Fire."
Seconds later, the "Chaotic Immortal Qi" finally settled completely.
Nie Kong exhaled in relief. The flame, stretched into a long ribbon by the "Chaotic Immortal Qi," instantly contracted into a ball and swiftly extinguished.
Immediately, a milky-white aura manifested in Nie Kong's palm.
Looking at this soybean-sized mass of "Chaotic Immortal Qi," Nie Kong felt a strange mixture of amusement and frustration. Though he didn't know exactly how much time had passed, five or six days was the bare minimum. Such painstaking effort over several days had only yielded this meager amount of Immortal Qi.
After shaking his head and chuckling for a moment, Nie Kong willed it, and the small mass of Immortal Qi sank into his body.
At this point, Nie Kong’s spirit was completely immersed within himself. As the "Chaotic Divine Art" circulated, the Immortal Qi thread by thread diffused, merging with his divine power.
In a mere three to five minutes, this piece of Immortal Qi was entirely absorbed.
"It truly is potent stuff!"
After savoring the sensation for a while, joy shone clearly in Nie Kong's eyes. After integrating this "Chaotic Immortal Qi," the divine power within his body had condensed slightly. More importantly, Nie Kong could clearly perceive that although the total volume of divine power had decreased, its intensity—especially the inherent aggressiveness contained within it—had significantly increased.
The process of absorbing "Chaotic Immortal Qi" was essentially a process of purifying the Chaotic Divine Power—removing the dross.
When the Chaotic Divine Power condensed to its extreme, it would undergo a qualitative transformation.
Instantly, Nie Kong’s spirits soared. Never mind spending several days to refine that single strand of "Chaotic Immortal Qi"; even twice that time would have been worth it.
He lifted his gaze to the thirty-two strands of Immortal Qi weaving through the cloud mist, already feeling impatient.
With a thought, a thread of Chaotic Divine Power, wrapped in the nurturing power of the little fellow’s life source, pierced past his fingertip and drifted toward the distant cloud mist. In just a couple of minutes, the second strand of "Chaotic Immortal Qi" was lured over. This strand was also as fine as silk, but stretched over ten meters long.
"Hoo!"
A massive palm shot forward suddenly, grasping it, and the Heavenly Fire immediately spread.
Watching the fiercely struggling "Chaotic Immortal Qi," Nie Kong was filled with surprised delight. In terms of both length and size, this one surpassed the previously refined and absorbed strand, yet its struggling force was only half that of the former. In the "Crimson Star Battle Body" state, Nie Kong could control it with relative ease.
It must be due to the absorption of the previous Immortal Qi that its instinctive resistance was reduced. It seemed the more he absorbed, the more easily he could capture the subsequent strands, and the faster the refinement process would be.
He retracted his palm, and the "Chaotic Immortal Qi" was pulled into the radiant mist.
Nie Kong paid no heed to the Immortal Qi’s thrashing, merely settling his mind and repeating the previous actions: burning the Heavenly Fire for refinement while simultaneously absorbing the divine power elements.
Time flew by.
Perhaps one or two days, perhaps three or four days passed...
Nie Kong opened his eyes, the fierce flames quietly vanishing. The "Chaotic Immortal Qi" had condensed into a ball, resting quietly in his palm, fine as a sesame seed.
After a pause, the green light struck out again.
The third strand, the fourth strand...
The Immortal Qi strands arrived sequentially at the edge of the seven-colored mist, captured, refined, and absorbed by Nie Kong.
The central mass of cloud mist in the Seven-Colored Immortal Domain continued to churn like surging waves, but the "Chaotic Immortal Qi" weaving through the mist was gradually diminishing...
