And me? I imagined transforming into a magnificent Magical Girl.

Such lovely fantasies, but no matter how beautiful, a fantasy is ultimately just a fantasy. Reality is harsh. So, by now, my parents are just owners of an ordinary coffee shop, and my brother and sister are simply a regular university student and high school student. As for my two best friends, they are just a typical tsundere and a gentle girl.

Naturally, I remain just an ordinary third-grader.

Despite this ordinary life, every day passes happily. However, the deep affection between my parents, and how close my brother and sister are—like lovers—with everyone paired up, leaves me feeling a bit... awkward. Thankfully, I still have my two friends, Alicia and Suzuka... I often wonder, if I had been born a boy, would I have become a 'life winner'?

But something is strange. I don't know when it started, but I frequently have the same dream. Although the memories within the dream are vivid, I can't recall anything upon waking. I always feel as if something peculiar has entered my body...

Perhaps it’s the presence of that thing that causes me to daydream so much, but nothing strange has ever happened. It seems the path to becoming a Magical Girl is indeed impossible.

For some reason, I suddenly feel a bit disappointed. Is Takamachi Nanoha truly destined for a lifetime of mediocrity? I wanted a best friend with golden twin-tails, and another friend who speaks with a Kansai accent and tends to grab my chest... If that happened, with Alicia and Suzuka, we would have the four cardinal directions... and that... Miyagi person.

But what I didn't know was that while I was brooding over this, the gears of destiny had already begun to turn.

If making friends is one path for the future, then that’s not bad. I wish all my friends could stay with me, because being together is when everyone is happiest.

But I didn't say that out loud. I felt that if I did, Alicia would become even more tsundere... Although she's incredibly cute when she's being tsundere, and I really enjoy seeing that side of her.

I only found an injured ferret... At that moment, I grew excited. If that plea for help truly came from this ferret, it would mean my psychic abilities had awakened... perhaps.

Following the small animal protection laws, and given that animals on Earth seem to be growing scarcer recently, Alicia, Suzuka, and I took the ferret, which had been injured by something unknown, to the nearest veterinarian. Afterwards, we debated for a while whether we should adopt it. Finally, because the ferret looked at me with the gaze of someone looking to a savior, I decided to take it in... After all, if I become a Magical Girl, I’ll need a companion animal, right?

Of course, at that time, I had no idea I had been drawn into the very core of the events, until the next night, as I was preparing for bed, I heard that faint, hazy voice again.

Even though I wanted to sleep, and didn't really want to go, I felt that if I went, something incredible might happen, and that strange thing inside me seemed to be urging me to go... In the end, I decided to make the trip, because those fantasy scenarios are exactly what I’ve been hoping for.

Then, when I arrived at the vet's office, I heard an incredibly terrifying sound, like some monster roaring. Following that, I saw a large, dark monster chasing the ferret. What shocked me even more was that the ferret actually spoke!

In that moment, I knew I had been drawn into an unbelievable incident. A faint intuition bloomed in my heart—perhaps tonight I would become a Magical Girl.

But because that large, dark monster was so terrifying, it frightened me. So, I suppressed the excitement in my heart and asked the guide in my hands... oh wait, I asked the ferret what was going on.

It was just as I suspected: this talking ferret had come from another world. It was searching for something called a Jewel Seed, but its power was insufficient... Well, it is just a ferret, after all; it’s only natural it can’t defeat monsters. It had no choice but to plead with someone with aptitude like me... to let me accept the power of magic.

Magic? To be honest, hearing that word sent a small thrill through my heart. But that annoying monster kept interrupting my path to becoming a Magical Girl. I decided that once I became a Magical Girl, I would definitely teach it a good lesson!

But the ferret was a good person; it gave me a red jewel and then taught me the incantation to become a Magical Girl... I thought, with the monster right there, chanting spells so casually could get me killed. However, my worry was needless, because the monster didn't try to attack me then. As expected, no one could stop my transformation into a Magical Girl.

Right, the incantation goes like this: "I am the successor of the mission. In the name of the contract, unleash your power! The swift wind resides in the heavens, the stars reside in the night sky, and unyielding courage resides in my heart! Grasp magic in your hands... Heart of the Rising Sun! Activate!"

What a passionate and fiery spell! The moment magic was unleashed, my magical power pierced the sky. The ferret was startled by my might, and even the monster retreated under the pressure of my magic. Looking at that scene, I felt in that moment... I was the monarch reigning over the world!

Earth can no longer hold me back!

But I also felt a bit stressed, because aside from having immense magical power, I had absolutely no idea how to actually use magic. Thankfully, the ferret was a competent guide and instructed me to materialize my magical outfit and wand through imagination. With that, I could finally use magic.

So, I imagined the magical armor I often fantasized about... Luckily, I daydream frequently, otherwise, I truly wouldn't have been able to think up the design for the outfit and wand in such a short time. I have my rich imagination to thank for this.

The moment I transformed, all my clothes vanished. Finally, I was wearing the magical uniform of my dreams... Thankfully, no one can see during the transformation, or it would have become an R-rated scene—that was a close call.

Of course, I am just a novice mage; I know nothing. Facing the monster at first was difficult, but having a good guide is truly a blessing, and that strange thing inside me also seemed to be teaching me what to do. Finally, through my efforts, I managed to defeat the monster and sealed away the thing called the Jewel Seed.

When it ended, the ferret fainted. If we follow the plot of a third-rate novel, the guide would die at this point. But I'm just a beginner, and the guide cannot die! Besides, I would feel terribly guilty if he did. So, I decided to revive him.
