A villager in Laiyang County was napping at home one afternoon when suddenly a man entered his room, leading a woman by the hand. The woman's face was swollen and yellow, her waist thick and cumbersome, and her expression was one of profound misery. The man spoke, urging her, "Come here, come here." The villager assumed it was a secret rendezvous between a couple, and with a desire to witness the excitement, he closed his eyes and feigned sleep.
The pair reached the table. The woman sat down on a chair, and the man commanded again, "Quickly, hurry up." Hearing this, the woman opened her garment, exposing her belly. Her abdomen was enormous, like a massive drum. The man produced a butcher's knife and plunged it into the woman's heart, slicing open her chest and drawing the blade down from top to bottom, right to her navel, accompanied by a wet, sizzling sound. The villager was seized by terror, daring not even to draw a breath.
The woman endured the pain with a furrowed brow, neither groaning nor crying out in agony. The man opened his mouth and clamped onto the handle of the butcher's knife. He plunged his hand into her abdomen and began drawing out the large and small intestines one by one, draping them over his elbow, pulling and hanging them simultaneously. Before long, his elbow was entirely covered in a tangle of viscera, unable to hold any more. The man coiled the intestines into a heap, severed them with the knife, and placed them on the tabletop. He then continued drawing out the entrails, cutting off a bundle each time it accumulated and setting it on the table. Eventually, there was no more space on the table, so he began hanging them on the chair, which soon became entirely draped with the intestines as well.
By this point, little remained inside the woman's belly. The man drew out the rest, re-hanging them on his arm, looping them over a dozen times until they formed a dense, thick mass, like a fisherman's net. Having extracted all the intestines, the man suddenly gave a mighty swing and flung the entire mass toward the villager's face, striking him squarely on the head. The villager's eyes, ears, mouth, and nose were instantly covered by the intestines. The hot, putrid stench invaded his body, sickening him to the point of vomiting, and suffocating his breath. With a sharp cry, he pushed the entrails away with his hands and bolted for the door. The mass of intestines fell before his feet, tripping him up. He tumbled to the ground, shouting for help repeatedly.
His family, hearing the commotion, rushed in. They saw the villager buried beneath a pile of organs, the room entirely empty, with no sign of the man or woman. When they questioned him about what had happened, the villager recounted everything. Upon hearing the tale, those present clicked their tongues in amazement. However, as there was no trace left in the room, they soon dismissed it from their minds.
In the days that followed, a foul stench permeated the room, lingering stubbornly for a long time.
