Near Junshan Island on Dongting Lake, there exists a cavern, vast within, where the lake's waters flow in and out, reaching depths unfathomable.

The cavern walls on either side are strewn with black stone, the color of pitch; this stone is surprisingly pliant, yielding easily to the blade as if sliced by hand.

This material is perfect for crafting inkstones; shapes can be molded right there in the cave, but once removed into the open air, they harden upon contact with the wind.

Such inkstones, when used, bring a deep satisfaction to the hand and are of the finest quality.
