Upon the colossal throne sat a middle-aged man with an aquiline nose and deep-set eyes, seated with imposing dominance.
This man’s hair was somewhat light brown, setting him apart slightly from the peoples of the Great Qin and Great Jin kingdoms; however, everyone understood this was the bloodline of the Great Yuan—the people of Great Yuan were always referred to as 'Hu people.'
And the one seated upon the throne was none other than Ouyang Wang.
God-King Ouyang Wang!
Indeed, this was the Ouyang Wang who had recently emerged from seclusion, having unified the three kingdoms of Qin, Jin, and Yuan. Ouyang Wang sat above, yet his power—a might so immense it seemed capable of shattering the void—enveloped the entire palace.
Below, positioned to the left, were the sects of the Great Yuan. First was Elder Ouyang Du, the Brave Master of Ten Thousand Snakes Manor, followed by the Supreme Grandmaster of Esoteric Buddhism, Master Tian Yuan. Master Tian Yuan presented the appearance of a haggard Hu Tibetan monk, his complexion sallow. Yet, one must not underestimate this sallow-faced Hu monk; before Ouyang Wang emerged, it was this very man who led the various Yuan sects to resist Jin. Although often on the losing side, he managed to preserve the Yuan nation, marking him as a significant figure. Beneath Master Tian Yuan were the people from the Lanto Temple of the Great Snow Mountain; the Abbot of Lanto Temple had gone to Mount Hua to block the entrance, leaving the Chief of the Snow Mountain Courtyard, Master Xue Baichan, in his stead.
On the right side were the sects that had submitted from Qin and Jin.
The first was the Abbot of the Great Dharma Flower Temple, Master Da Ku Chan. Master Da Ku Chan was originally the Chief of the Dhyana Court, but since the former Abbot, Master Da Ku Chan, had perished at Ouyang Wang’s hands, he assumed the position.
The second was the Marquis Wentian of the Carefree Immortal Sect. Marquis Wentian was advanced in years yet retained a dashing appearance.
The third was Sect Master Zhong Hou of the No-Sword Immortal Sect, who was also the father of Zhong Ling.
The fourth was Marquis Huoyan, the current Sect Master of the Scarlet Dragon Immortal Sect; the previous master, Marquis Chi Yan, had died by Ouyang Wang's hand.
The fifth position was empty.
Following them in descending order were the Wudang Immortal Sect, the Kunlun Immortal Sect, the South Sea Immortal Sect, the Qingcheng Immortal Sect, and numerous other high-ranking sects of the Great Qin. These sects were not inherently weaker than Qingcheng Immortal Sect and the like.
But such was the seating arrangement. Ouyang Wang was now unmatched, slaying foes everywhere, yet no one dared defy him.
Master Tian Yuan glanced across at Master Da Ku Chan of the Great Dharma Flower Temple, feeling immense satisfaction in his heart. Master Tian Yuan belonged to Esoteric Buddhism, and like the Great Dharma Flower Temple, both were Buddhist factions. For years, the Great Dharma Flower Temple had claimed the mantle of the orthodox Buddhist path, making Esoteric Buddhism seem like a heretical sect. Furthermore, Esoteric Buddhism’s actual strength paled in comparison to the Great Dharma Flower Temple, leaving them with little recourse. Now, however, the Great Dharma Flower Temple was ranked beneath Esoteric Buddhism, which delighted Master Tian Yuan.
Master Tian Yuan immediately looked toward the Jin Kingdom's side. Jin was an ancient rival, and now four of their five major upper-tier immortal sects had surrendered. Seeing all his old adversaries bowed down brought him unparalleled joy. The only thing preventing complete satisfaction was that the greatest rival, the Mount Hua Immortal Sect, had not yet yielded.
Mount Hua Immortal Sect!
Ouyang Wang sat on the throne, taking pleasure in seeing the powers of the Three Kingdoms subdued beneath his feet.
However, the fifth seat remained vacant.
That fifth seat, unequivocally, belonged to Mount Hua. Though Mount Hua was an upper-tier immortal sect, it was the strongest among them; short of Mount Hua Immortal Sect, which other power was worthy of that fifth position?
Ouyang Wang most desired to conquer the Mount Hua Immortal Sect because he had suffered a crushing defeat under Yan Cangtian in the past. Gazing at the empty fifth seat, Ouyang Wang snarled, "Good. You are all clever enough to know when to submit to this King, thus sparing your sects from annihilation."
"What I have done is not merely conquering the Three Kingdoms. Unifying the Three Kingdoms is just the beginning of my journey; I intend to conquer the entire Southern Domain," Ouyang Wang declared his lofty ambitions. "As for the Mount Hua Immortal Sect, you have one month left. After one month, I shall march upon Mount Hua and leave not a single chicken or dog alive."
He roared out his grand ambitions, utterly arrogant.
"Is that so? You truly have courage, but alas, you are destined to fail," a faint voice echoed through the void. Everyone realized the sound originated from the very center of the grand hall, yet clearly, no one stood there. Who dared defy Ouyang Wang, who was currently at the apex of his power? Such audacity!
Ouyang Wang snapped, "Bold, but merely courting death! Do you think by using the Art of Phantasmal Sound Projection, I cannot locate you?"
Ouyang Wang assumed someone was hiding within the crowd, employing the Art of Phantasmal Sound Projection to make the voice seem ethereal. Yet, the sound persisted from the void, and he could not pinpoint its source. The voice seemed to be toying with him, filling Ouyang Wang with immense fury. He, the unifier of three kingdoms and the future conqueror of the Southern Territory, was being toyed with by a single person. Damn it! "If you dare show yourself, I will tear you into a thousand pieces," Ouyang Wang bellowed.
"Alas, you lack the capability. But since you cannot find me, I shall reveal myself," a flash of light illuminated the hall, and a young man dressed in green robes appeared.
This was!
Lu Yuan, one of the Three Myths of Mount Hua.
Upon seeing Lu Yuan appear, the surrounding individuals began to murmur. No one had anticipated Lu Yuan would show up at such a critical juncture. It seemed a fierce clash was inevitable—the last of the Three Myths of Mount Hua against the newly ascended mythical figure, Ouyang Wang. Both were legendary figures in the territories of the Three Kingdoms; nobody knew who was stronger. "I think Ouyang Wang is stronger; he is practically ready to shatter the void."
"No, I think Lu Yuan is stronger; Lu Yuan is young and has potential; perhaps he is already stronger than Ouyang Wang." Amidst the varied discussions, one thing was clear: this promised to be a true battle of titans, and the ensuing fight would undoubtedly be intense.
Ouyang Wang's body trembled. Behind him materialized an impossibly massive toad shadow, nearly a thousand zhang tall. The shadow was so vividly real it instantly pierced the ceiling of the Imperial Palace. What an enormous toad projection! Seeing Ouyang Wang unleash this move, those nearby gasped in astonishment.
"It's the Toad God Skill!"
"Yes! I heard it's a technique inherited from a Supreme Sect of the Central Dynasty. It requires refining using the corpse and soul of a Toad God. Once mastered, one can spew toxic gas and possess boundless strength, almost unimaginable power. I didn't expect Ouyang Wang to have mastered the Toad God Skill; this surely increases his winning odds by another tenth."
With the Toad God Skill mobilized, Ouyang Wang's aura surged. "Lu Yuan, though you are a junior, you are counted among the Three Myths of Mount Hua, alongside Yan Cangtian. Let me see which myth is superior—mine or yours! After defeating you, I will challenge Yan Cangtian. I want all Three Myths of Mount Hua to fall beneath my hands."
He was bursting with valor, his power like lightning. He exhaled, sending a massive plume of green toxic gas directly toward Lu Yuan. This green gas was extraordinary; merely touching it would cause severe distress even to figures at the fourth or fifth level of the Hun Dong Realm. Simultaneously, he struck out with his palm, which transformed in the void into something resembling the Palm of the Toad God, carrying immense force.
Lu Yuan, one of the Three Myths of Mount Hua, shatter!
What a terrifying attack! How would Lu Yuan possibly cope with such might?
Everyone watched with curiosity, eager to see how Lu Yuan would handle the attack against the junior-most of the Three Myths of Mount Hua. Most people from the Great Qin Kingdom had never witnessed his power before and now wished to gauge his strength. To their surprise, Lu Yuan stood motionless, allowing the green poison mist to envelop him completely.
Lu Yuan is finished! He was hit by the Toad God Poison Gas.
Just as the crowd sighed in lament, Lu Yuan suddenly moved within the green toxic smoke. His Yang Wu Immortal Sword was drawn in a single fluid motion. The moment the sword cleared its sheath, it sliced horizontally with deceptive ease. This sword movement appeared effortless, yet it effortlessly bypassed all of Ouyang Wang's defenses and cleaved him straight in two.
This! This! This!
One sword strike!
When everyone expected a fierce battle of titans to erupt, what did Lu Yuan do? He executed a simple, faint sword stroke, instantly bisecting Ouyang Wang.
How is this possible!
Who was Ouyang Wang? A thousand years ago, he vied with Yan Cangtian; a thousand years later, his divine skills were perfected, bringing him close to shattering the void. He unified the vassal states, and any power that refused submission died. In all his campaigns, no one could withstand him; not even the Patriarchs of the major immortal sects of the Great Qin Kingdom could block three of Ouyang Wang's moves.
Ouyang Wang was invincible.
Of course, Lu Yuan was also one of the Three Myths of Mount Hua.
Therefore, everyone anticipated a fierce confrontation.
But everyone was wrong. Lu Yuan dispatched Ouyang Wang in a single move. This massive disparity between expectation and reality was too much for everyone present to comprehend. The contrast was simply too vast.
Just how powerful was this Myth, Lu Yuan? In a region like the Three Kingdoms, achieving a level approaching the shattering of the void was considered the pinnacle of strength. The demonstrations of void-shattering power by Yan Cangtian, Zhou Qingxuan, and Xiaoyao Zi were legendary tales. Yet, someone close to that pinnacle was now cut down by a single sword strike.
He used no ultimate technique, merely a calm, ordinary sword stroke.
This! It truly left everyone speechless!
Ouyang Wang roared out one last time, "Why! Why are you so strong? But I will not lose! Toad God, possess me!" This move, Toad God Possession, allowed the Toad God to seize the majority of his consciousness, transforming his body into a monstrous beast, further amplifying his power beyond its current level. He was confident in this ultimate trump card.
In response, Lu Yuan struck again—a single sword stroke that sliced the thousand-zhang Toad God behind Ouyang Wang in half. Instantly, the Toad God's soul was vaporized, dissipating entirely.
"Why! Why are you so strong?" Seeing his Toad God destroyed, Ouyang Wang could no longer sustain himself. His life force depleted, death was imminent. He stared with wide, unyielding eyes at Lu Yuan, absolutely refusing to die like this. But it was over; he was about to perish.
"Lu Yuan, your strength has barely improved," a voice suddenly sounded.
Lu Yuan flinched violently!
