A certain resident of White Family Village, west of the city, stole a neighbor's duck, cooked it, and ate it.
That night, the person developed an intense itch all over their skin. By dawn, upon inspection, they found themselves covered entirely in duck feathers, and touching them caused excruciating pain.
Fear gripped their heart, and they sought doctors and remedies, but nothing could cure the affliction.
That night, while sleeping, they dreamt of an immortal who sent a message: "This ailment is divine punishment. Only the rightful owner of the stolen duck, by cursing you severely, can cause these feathers to fall out."
The elderly neighbor, a man of magnanimous temperament, had never become angry over any loss in his life.
The afflicted person lied, saying, "The duck was stolen by so-and-so; this person is terrified of being cursed. Why not give him a good scolding? It will clear your frustration and serve as a warning to thieves."
The old man laughed, "Who has the leisure time to get angry and curse wicked people? Let it go."
He absolutely refused to curse anyone.
With no other option, the guilty party was forced to confess the truth. Upon learning the real story, the old man finally began to curse, and immediately after the tirade, the duck feathers receded, and the patient was indeed cured.
