Seeing that Nie Kong’s words held absolutely no reserve, Mo Ye was greatly stunned, but the pair of twin elders behind him almost simultaneously roared out in anger.
Originally, the two had assumed Nie Kong was merely an ordinary person, only realizing he was a Cave Spirit master after sensing him act. They vaguely understood this fellow had hidden his cultivation through some method. However, as they themselves were also Cave Spirit Masters, despite being astonished by Nie Kong's youth, they felt no fear.
More importantly, Holy Son Mo Ye had already announced his identity; they absolutely did not believe this young man before them would dare to remain arrogant after learning the origins of the three of them.
"Hmm?"
Nie Kong's tone abruptly deepened.
A shadow flashed, and Nie Kong bizarrely bypassed Mo Ye, stepping directly in front of the twin elders. His fists struck toward their chests like lightning, and two dark green "Spirit Caves" suddenly spun out from his knuckles. The brilliant golden light bursting from the Spirit Caves seemed poised to swallow the surrounding void.
The two were surprised that Nie Kong had attacked first without any warning, but when they realized Nie Kong was simultaneously striking them both with his "Spirit Caves," a mocking smile involuntarily spread across their aged faces. With perfect synchronicity, they each extended their right fists to meet the attack.
Flickering within their fists, however, were snow-white Spirit Caves.
In their eyes, Nie Kong’s maneuver was tantamount to dividing his Spirit Cave power in half. Even if his own strength were great, facing two genuine Spirit Caves from them left him with no chance of victory. Therefore, even experts at the Ninth Grade of the Cave Spirit realm rarely engaged in such a direct confrontation with masters of the same major realm.
When the opponent is this arrogant, the outcome is self-evident.
"Boom! Boom!"
In an instant, the four fists collided. The fierce impact sound seemed to be absorbed by the Spirit Caves; it sounded for a moment and then vanished.
Immediately, the complexions of the two twin elders drastically changed, the smiles wiped clean from their faces. As soon as the four Spirit Caves touched, their snow-white caves dissolved like ice and snow, easily consumed by the opponent. Then, the opponent's dark green Spirit Caves rapidly enlarged in their pupils.
Brilliant golden light enveloped the bodies of the two men, and along with this radiance came a terrifying aura that made the heart tremble. In that moment, they were utterly horrified, able only to watch helplessly as their two fists unfurled, their claws viciously clawing toward their necks.
"Uh, uh..."
The two twin elders flailed like ducks whose necks had been grabbed, managing only to utter a single strange sound before their bodies, like kites cut from their strings, involuntarily flew toward the open window opposite the door. In the blink of an eye, their figures were swallowed by the dark night.
"Plop! Plop!"
Loud splashing sounds rose from the broad pond behind the Sihai Tower, immediately followed by a chorus of gasps. By then, Nie Kong had circled Mo Ye as smoothly as flowing water, dusted off his clothes, and calmly sat back in his original spot, as if the entire action had been as effortless as brushing away dust.
Tai Yan smiled radiantly, hugging Nie Kong's arm back into her embrace, her delicate face full of tenderness.
"You, you..."
Mo Ye stared at Nie Kong dumbfounded, his expression one of utter disbelief.
Before entering the room, he knew Nie Kong was a Cave Spirit Master, but he had never imagined Nie Kong's mastery was so profound that, in the blink of an eye, he had flung the Cave Spirit guards—sent specifically by his father, the Mountain Lord of Luoshan Sacred Mountain—out of the Sihai Tower.
What was this person’s true background?
Mo Ye absolutely refused to believe the person sitting opposite him was only in his twenties. In the Tianling Continent, there were many spiritual medicines that could rejuvenate one's appearance, but for the vast majority of older male Spirit Masters, engaging in the pointless act of regaining youth was rare.
Taking a deep breath, Mo Ye slightly bowed, saying, "I did not expect Senior’s cultivation to be so astonishing. I presume this young lady is not Senior’s sister, but rather Senior’s concubine? I apologize for my offense tonight. I beg Senior to show leniency for my father Mo Luo Mountain Lord’s sake."
When beneath another's roof, one must bow one's head. With his two Cave Spirit realm guards’ fates unknown, what could he, a mere Void Spirit Master, possibly accomplish? He could only endure it for the time being! Furthermore, he had emphasized his status as the son of Mountain Lord Mo Luo, believing the other party would not dare to press him too hard.
Senior? Concubine?
Hearing these words from Mo Ye, a wave of amusement washed over Nie Kong. He was already being called "Senior" so quickly. Thinking this, Nie Kong sneered coldly, "Since you know you offended, then scram!"
"Yes, this junior takes his leave!"
Mo Ye bowed with a smile again, but as he bent over, a flash of unnoticeable fury crossed his captivating eyes. The moment his words ended, Mo Ye straightened up and turned to leave.
"Wait!" Nie Kong suddenly spoke.
"Does Senior have any further instructions?" Mo Ye quickly turned back.
Nie Kong said in a deep voice, "Did I say you could leave?"
Mo Ye paused. "Does Senior mean..."
"Do you know how to write the word 'scram'?" Nie Kong watched Mo Ye with mockery.
"Scram..."
Mo Ye instantly understood. His fair face flushed crimson, and his chest rose and fell rapidly. After a long moment, he took a deep breath, "Thank you, Senior, for the lesson. I shall... roll now!" With that, Mo Ye bent his knees, tucked his arms around his legs, curled himself into a ball, and rolled clumsily out of the room.
Watching Mo Ye’s figure vanish from sight, Nie Kong frowned slightly.
The Holy Son of Luoshan Sacred Mountain could endure such humiliation; he was indeed a man capable of bending when necessary, which greatly exceeded Nie Kong’s expectations. A fellow like that would never be content to bear such disgrace. He would likely investigate Nie Kong's background as soon as he left and seek revenge at the opportune moment.
If the massive power of Luoshan Sacred Mountain became entangled in this matter, it would cause considerable trouble!
Should he find an opportunity to kill them all?
A restless urge stirred within Nie Kong, but he quickly dismissed the notion. Killing the three of them would be trivially easy; with his abilities, he could locate their whereabouts in Jiyang City anytime. Once they left, dispatching the Phantom Eagle King would resolve the problem effortlessly.
However, there were many Spirit Master patrons within the Sihai Tower, and the commotion just now had surely been noticed by quite a few. If Mo Ye and the other two died just outside Jiyang City after offending him, it would be difficult to prevent the Luoshan Sacred Mountain from suspecting him. A simple investigation would make keeping his identity secret very hard.
Nie Kong himself wasn't afraid, but in that scenario, even if Luoshan Sacred Mountain couldn't touch him, they might very well turn their aggression toward the Nie Family. Although Nie Fenglei's actions earlier had greatly annoyed Nie Kong, Nie Kong was unwilling to see the Nie Family of Jiyang destroyed by Luoshan Sacred Mountain.
