Seeing the two figures frozen in place, stunned into stillness by the sight before them, Wang Zhuo’s heart plummeted. This is bad! he thought.

It was none other than the Meng sisters from Taoyuan—Sheng Nan and Sheng Di!

Why were they here in the middle of the night?! Wang Zhuo was riddled with questions, but the situation allowed no time for contemplation. The garage's roller door was still slowly rising, revealing the residential complex outside; if anyone were passing by, they could see everything happening inside!

It seemed the Meng sisters had intended to raise the door just enough to slip inside and then stop it, but the sudden unexpected event had made them forget to stand up, and even more so, forget to halt the ascending door.

But Wang Zhuo and Siyuan didn't have the keys; who knew where they had fallen? He made an instant decision, quickly pulled up his trousers, slapped Siyuan’s rear, and the young woman, startled like a small rabbit, zipped into the car.

The Meng sisters slowly stood up, overcome with an unbearable awkwardness, unsure what to do. Wang Zhuo strode toward them, snatched the remote key from Meng Sheng Nan’s hand, pressed the closing switch, then swung his arms around their shoulders, guiding them toward his side. The girls involuntarily took two steps forward, clearing the space beneath the door.

The roller door sealed shut, and a sudden quiet descended upon the garage.

Meng Sheng Di's eyes flickered with curiosity. She had only a vague, half-understood notion of what intimacy between a man and woman entailed; she knew the basics, but the current scene utterly confused her. Although the disheveled state of Wang Zhuo and Siyuan made her think of that sort of thing, her simple mind lacked the vocabulary for that—she truly didn't grasp what Wang Zhuo and Siyuan had been doing!

Meng Sheng Nan’s expression, however, was complex. The same age as Siyuan, she understood far more. Since Meng Yu brought the concept of “biting” back to Taoyuan Village, the news had gradually spread among the younger generation. The elders couldn't accept such things, but the youth were highly receptive to novel ideas. Through snippets of conversation, she had grasped the nature of such acts.

The complication was that when Wang Zhuo first took her away from Taoyuan, he had explicitly told her he preferred mature women. The simple girl had believed him completely. Now, to see him engaged in such activities with a girl her own age instantly threw her thoughts into turmoil.

“You two were just…”

Meng Sheng Di hesitated, her gaze flicking back and forth between Wang Zhuo and the sports car.

Meng Sheng Nan quickly tugged her sister’s arm, warning her with her eyes not to speak.

“Uh…” Wang Zhuo’s mind was also reeling. He scratched his head and asked, “Why are you here in the middle of the night?”

“Sister Qi Fei sent us,” Meng Sheng Di immediately opened up, rushing to explain. “The school has had no water or power for three days. It’s hot as a furnace, and a few students have gotten sick. Sister Qi Fei heard the news and told us to stay here with you for the night.”

As she spoke, she held up the supermarket bag, which contained some fruit and snacks—it seemed they had come prepared.

After returning from Taoyuan, Qi Fei and Guan Yingying had conferred and arranged for the sisters to change their form of address—from “Auntie” to “Older Sister.” Women in the big city preferred this style to avoid feeling “aged.” Before they started school, Wang Zhuo had stayed in the school dormitory for a time—this was their residence, so they had a full set of keys.

“We came into the garage… to see if the place needed cleaning,” Meng Sheng Nan explained quietly.

What an unfortunate coincidence… Wang Zhuo rubbed his head in helpless frustration, then suddenly remembered something and hurried back to the car.

Siyuan stuck out her tongue and made a face at him: “Seven missed calls, two text messages.”

Wang Zhuo took his phone and saw the seven missed calls—all from Guan Yingying, likely notifying him that the Meng sisters were coming to stay. Both texts contained the same message, with the last one adding a stern instruction: come back to the dorm as soon as the sisters are settled; do not lay a hand on the young girls.

“What do we do?” Siyuan asked with a slight smirk.

Wang Zhuo looked equally sheepish, shrugged helplessly, and turned back.

“You two go upstairs first; I’ll be right up,” he said to the Meng sisters with a forced calm smile, trying hard to act like nothing had happened.

The sisters turned around and realized the door wasn't open and they didn't have the keys. Wang Zhuo suddenly remembered, quickly raised his hand, pressed the remote, and handed it to Meng Sheng Nan.

The two girls hurried away. Wang Zhuo returned to the car, first using his X-ray vision to scan the floor mat, locating the keys. He lowered the garage door halfway, then began straightening his clothes.

“It’s all my fault for wanting to play that role-playing game,” Siyuan said with some embarrassment, blaming herself. “If I had known this would happen, we should have just gone upstairs right away.”

“It was just an accident; it’s not your fault,” Wang Zhuo comforted with a wry smile. “If anyone’s to blame, it’s me. I should have driven you back before eleven.”

“Actually, I didn’t plan on leaving once I got here,” Siyuan playfully stuck out her tongue. “With only that little time, you didn't even get properly satisfied. What was the point?”

Wang Zhuo considered this. That was true. It seemed he had been negligent in this area. It was nearly ten o’clock when he got home, and the drive back to her place took over twenty minutes. That half-hour was indeed not enough time!

“I’ll tell them later,” he decided. “You just act like nothing’s happened.” He glanced up; the Meng sisters were already walking up the stairwell, chatting quietly.

Siyuan nodded, grinning. “Then I’ll go play on the computer.”

Wang Zhuo gave her a wry look. This girl was truly an optimist. Having caused such a big mess, she recovered so quickly, without much sign of embarrassment. He wondered if that counted as having a thick skin.

In the hallway, the Meng sisters continued climbing floor by floor—Meng Sheng Nan felt dizzy on the elevator.

“Are there snakes in Jiangzhou too?” Meng Sheng Di was asking a strange question.

“It must have been a snake bite,” Meng Sheng Nan stated firmly. “She was helping him suck out the venom.”

“How do you know it was sucking and not blowing?” Meng Sheng Di started arguing with her sister, then suddenly recalled a piece of evidence to refute her. “Besides, the snake bit Wang Zhuo. Why did Siyuan take off her clothes?”

Meng Sheng Nan scoffed, displaying quick wit. “Didn't you see in the movies and TV shows that protagonists often take off their clothes when healing their internal energy?”

“Siyuan knows internal arts?” Meng Sheng Di, being the more simple one, immediately had her thoughts diverted.

Siyuan knows internal arts, and Wang Zhuo has poison—they chatted nonsensically like this until they entered Wang Zhuo’s apartment.

By the time Wang Zhuo and Siyuan entered, Meng Sheng Di was already impatiently taking a shower. Three days without water or power had reverted her completely to the primitive conditions of Taoyuan Village. Plus, the temperature here was much higher than Taoyuan, and there was no cool well water or comfortable hot springs to use. She felt like she was about to be steamed alive!

Meng Sheng Nan, however, sat obediently on the sofa waiting for Wang Zhuo. Even the straightforward people of Taoyuan would fight if they caught someone committing a transgression; she vaguely guessed that Wang Zhuo and Siyuan’s relationship was clandestine, and she had seen something she shouldn’t have.

Beyond that, a nagging question remained in her heart: if Wang Zhuo could be intimate with Siyuan, but rejected her, did that mean he was repulsed by her? If that were the case, what future did she have?

At this moment, Meng Sheng Nan’s heart was a storm of confusion, utterly lost.

On the way upstairs, Wang Zhuo called Guan Yingying, telling her that Sheng Nan and Sheng Di had arrived and were currently showering together, and that he would return to the school once they were done.

The Medical University also had a rule about closing dormitories at eleven PM, but the enforcement in the Ph.D. building was lax, as many students worked on their supervisors' research projects late into the night.

Wang Zhuo, being part of the privileged class, could get admitted even if he knocked at three in the morning, so the Meng sisters could have stayed in separate rooms with him. However, Qi Fei had acted preemptively, instructing him to stay at the dormitory.

Fortunately, Siyuan had already informed Qi Fei upon returning to the garage that she was back at school, saving them one potential complication.

“You two chat; I’m going online!” Siyuan smiled at Meng Sheng Nan and slipped into Wang Zhuo’s room.

Seeing that Meng Sheng Nan looked even more awkward and troubled than he felt, Wang Zhuo’s mood instantly lightened. He smiled at her and sat down on the sofa beside her.

Meng Sheng Nan was wearing her school uniform today—a sailor suit, clearly imitating the style worn by Usagi Tsukino (Sailor Moon). Fatty Long also had this type of uniform in his collection, though his were sexy versions bought from Taobao.

Since arriving in Jiangzhou and changing her diet to be more comprehensive, her body had visibly changed; she had grown taller, and her chest had expanded, though her facial features remained unchanged.

Wang Zhuo paused, then tentatively asked first, “Do you know what we were doing just now?”

“I know,” Meng Sheng Nan replied quietly. “But Sheng Di doesn’t. I lied to her and said you were bitten by a snake, and Siyuan was sucking the venom out for you. She didn’t quite believe it.”

Wang Zhuo nearly stumbled over his words, thinking, That wasn't venom, that was the essence of essences!

Seeing his odd expression as he remained silent, Meng Sheng Nan gathered her courage and asked, “You said you liked mature women. Were you lying to me?”

“This…” Wang Zhuo started scratching his head again, genuinely unsure how to explain this issue right then.

“So you really were lying to me,” Meng Sheng Nan’s eyes suddenly filled with tears.

“It’s like this,” Wang Zhuo quickly improvised an explanation. “You need an emotional foundation for this kind of thing. I’m not rejecting you; it’s just that we haven’t reached that level of intimacy yet.”

As he explained, he smiled bitterly to himself. He never thought he’d have a moment where he had to make excuses to a beautiful young girl. Had the simple lad from years ago so quickly transformed into a Casanova?

“I won’t believe anything you say anymore,” Meng Sheng Nan’s tears streamed down like a broken string of pearls; in an instant, she was weeping pitifully. “Unless you do something tonight to make me believe you, then I’ll take Sheng Di and leave tomorrow—back to Taoyuan!”
