With their minds filled with questions and astonishment, Kanzaki Kaori and Stiyl departed, as ABER chose not to press the matter. Toyosaka Rin watched them go. Though slightly frustrated, she didn't stop them, only questioning ABER once the Servant returned to her side: "Why did you let them go?"
She couldn't quite grasp it. While Heroic Spirits were chosen by the Grail to manifest as Servants, a large part of why they were chosen stemmed from their own powerful wishes—meaning only those with intense desires participated in the Holy Grail War. Ordinarily, Servants would stop at nothing to eliminate rivals for the sake of victory, yet ABER’s actions seemed entirely out of line.
“Though that man is strong as a human, they possess no Command Spells, so they aren't Masters or Servants in this Holy Grail War,” ABER declared, tilting her head up with an air of pride. “Since they are ordinary people, there’s no need to slay them. Furthermore, the enemy has already surrendered; I never execute defeated generals.”
Stiyl was a genius magician, and Kanzaki Kaori was practically an angel—a Saint. From any perspective, both belonged to the "superhuman" tier, yet in ABER’s estimation, they were relegated to the status of mere mortals.
However, upon closer reflection, what ABER said wasn't entirely wrong. No matter how powerful Kanzaki and Stiyl were, they ultimately remained within the bounds of humanity. Heroic Spirits, on the other hand, were warriors chosen by the gods, long transcending the human sphere—existing as beings akin to demigods or spirits.
Listening to ABER, Toyosaka Rin felt speechless; this ABER seemed quite different from the Heroic Spirit she had imagined.
“Right, since we have established a contract, we should exchange our identities first. My name is Artoria#Arthur. Seeing the Sword in the Stone in my hand, I trust you have recognized me. As for you…”
“My name is Toyosaka Rin. ABER, you don't need to call me ATER; just call me Rin,” Rin quickly replied as ABER’s gaze fell upon her, adding with a touch of melancholy, “But speaking of which, to draw the legendary King Arthur is truly like a miracle.”
To fulfill her family’s wish, Rin had spent ten years in arduous training specifically to summon the Servant reputed to be the best among all—ABER. Now that she had finally succeeded, and the Servant’s true identity was the legendary hero King Arthur, it felt somewhat unbelievable, almost unreal.
“Mhm, very well, Rin,” ABER nodded straightforwardly. “I can sense your magic power is vast, and your Command Spells are strong. You are a truly excellent magus, perhaps the finest among all the Holy Grail Wars in history…”
Though she was known as a genius, being praised so highly by the legendary King Arthur made the usually proud Rin feel slightly embarrassed. Just as she was preparing a few humble, tsundere remarks, she heard: “And I, without question, am the most excellent and powerful among all Heroic Spirits. As the saying goes, attraction between the strong is inevitable; it was only natural for us to form this contract. Therefore, you needn’t be surprised at all.”
She’s subtly praising herself, Rin thought, immediately struck dumb. How should she respond? Admittedly, among the seven classes of Servants, ABER was the most outstanding; her swordsmanship, speed, magical capacity, and all other aspects were exceptional, giving her the highest overall quality. However, that didn't mean ABER was the absolute strongest; some Servants excelled far beyond her in specific areas, making defeating her not impossible. The way ABER spoke now was undeniably arrogant—in modern vernacular, she was 'showing off.'
“Then, Rin, the next issue…” ABER continued, oblivious to Rin’s awkward expression.
“Hm?”
“Where are our enemies? The other six pairs of Master and Servant. As an excellent magus and Master, you should have some intelligence on this, correct? I believe for the sake of victory, we should strike swiftly and catch the enemy off guard.”
“Uh, well, this…” Rin’s expression froze, and she awkwardly averted her gaze… How could she explain this? I accidentally transmigrated to another world, so I can't participate in the Holy Grail War anymore. Telling ABER that might get her killed on the spot.
“What, you lack confidence?” ABER assumed Rin was worried about achieving victory, so she spoke with full assurance. “Rin, you need not worry about that at all. I have been fighting in campaigns since I was fifteen, participating in hundreds of battles, large and small, and I have never known defeat. Since becoming a Heroic Spirit, my combat power remains top-tier; few can match me. Wherever my blade points, any enemy will be reduced to ash! This Holy Grail War… Hmph, victory is assured. Once I find those few individuals, no one can stand against my Sword in the Stone. I’ll dispatch them all, one sword
