The Mercedes-Benz brand, while considered quite upscale among private and public vehicles, is merely mid-to-upper tier on the expressway.

In this era, even highway passenger transport has its standards of prestige. Mercedes-Benz coaches are ubiquitous in long-haul services, but Wang Zhuo's RV, during the day, clearly looked a size larger and significantly more luxurious than any standard coach—an object of obvious quality. However, at night, from a distance, it could easily be mistaken for an operational long-distance passenger bus.

This visual ambiguity was precisely why Wang Zhuo and his party were subjected to a roadside inspection in the dead of night.

When the door opened, accompanied by an almost inaudible whirring of a motor, a five-step ramp slowly extended, halting just one step above the ground.

The two inspectors, who had been quite arrogant moments before, were instantly dumbfounded. Damn it, what kind of high-tech gadget is this? Does a long-distance coach have something like this?

With the five steps plus the distance from the ground, the floor height inside the vehicle was now over 1.2 meters, approximately chest-high for both men.

The two men involuntarily peered inside. Instead of the expected long-haul sleeper berths, overcrowded benches, or a crush of humanity, they saw a floor covered in deep crimson carpet, walls adorned with oil paintings of beautiful women, recessed lighting, a spiral staircase, and a transparent glass shoe cabinet.

This isn't a long-distance bus; it's clearly a mobile palace.

The two inspectors looked at each other, speechless and bewildered.

"Come up, aren't you supposed to be inspecting?" Wang Zhuo appeared at the doorway, beckoning them with a smile that didn't quite reach his eyes.

This vehicle... it seems like trouble we can’t afford. The plainclothes officer hesitated, saying, "Wait a moment."

He jogged over to the front of the vehicle and pulled the officer designated '9527'—the one checking Lu Weimin's identification—aside, briefly explaining the situation.

"An automatic elevating step? And there’s a staircase leading to a second floor inside?" 9527 paused, involuntarily tilting his head up to examine the height of this supposed "long-distance coach."

"Damn it, why didn't I notice how tall it was earlier?" he muttered under his breath, then announced, "You stay here, I’ll go take a look."

Just as he turned to walk over, Lu Weimin called out, "Hey, return my credentials first."

Normally, 9527 would have scoffed at Lu Weimin’s demand, but now, realizing this was not a commercial passenger vehicle, his arrogance waned. He knew commercial buses were almost always overloaded, and they had to operate on this route daily, fearing the road enforcers like them. But others might not be so concerned.

Despite this realization, he refused to lower his proud demeanor, stating coldly, "I’ll give them back after the inspection is complete."

"You hold them for now," he said, stuffing the documents into the hand of the plainclothes officer.

Walking around to the other side of the RV, he paused again. Four young women in identical uniforms stood there, exuding an intangible pressure.

"Who are they?" 9527 asked 2046, feigning composure.

"They came from the two vehicles behind us," 2046 said, pointing toward the rear of the RV.

9527 turned. He could only see one vehicle, seemingly a Land Rover, flashing a yellow light. Due to the darkness, the vehicle following it was obscured.

This situation is bizarre... 9527 mused, already contemplating retreat.

"What are you waiting for? Let’s go up and take a look," he signaled to 2046, intending only a cursory glance before leaving.

Steeling himself, 9527 stepped onto the vehicle. He hesitated, then removed his leather shoes, holding them in his hand. Seeing no slippers provided, he didn't ask Wang Zhuo for any and stepped directly onto the carpet.

"Please excuse us, we are only carrying out our official duties," 2046 said, forcing a smile toward Wang Zhuo as soon as he entered.

"Which department are you from?" Wang Zhuo scrutinized them both and asked flatly.

"Highway Enforcement," 9527 replied.

"Highway Enforcement?" Wang Zhuo scoffed. "That's just a general term. I asked which specific department you belong to."

Highway enforcement encompassed the Road Administration, Transport Administration, and Traffic Police—inspections were usually conducted by traffic police, occasionally jointly.

This was a very ordinary question, yet it stumped 2046. He glanced hesitantly at 9527, thinking, Boss, the script is wrong. Nobody ever asked this when we were out collecting 'fees' before.

"We are from the Transport Administration," 9527, as the apparent leader, answered Wang Zhuo without missing a beat.

"Oh," Wang Zhuo extended his hand. "Let me see your credentials."

"They’re in the car," 9527 glanced at him and replied coolly. "If you want to see them, you can come look at them with me later."

"Get out!" Wang Zhuo spat directly onto 9527's face, pointing at his nose and roaring, "Your acting is good enough for an award, you piece of trash!"

9527 was completely unprepared for Wang Zhuo’s sudden outburst and froze. 2046, who had just slipped off one shoe with the other foot still on the carpet, dared not take the next step.

"9527?" Wang Zhuo poked the badge on 9527's chest with his finger and sneered, "Do you think you're Stephen Chow? And what about 2046, are you Wong Kar-wai?"

9527’s face turned cold, and just as he was about to retort, Wang Zhuo swept his hand out, delivering a sharp slap across his face. Smack!

"You, you..." 2046 pointed at Wang Zhuo, momentarily stuttering.

Wang Zhuo glanced at him dismissively. "What are you going to say? That I'm violently resisting law enforcement?"

2046 nodded stiffly, terrified that this hot-tempered young man might suddenly kick him.

At this moment, the four female bodyguards had surrounded the RV door. Seeing their boss suddenly slap a highway inspection officer, they were momentarily confused.

The loud slap also alerted Qi Fei and Guan Yingying, who had been chatting in the living room. The two rushed out quickly.

"Wang Zhuo, what happened?" Qi Fei hurried to Wang Zhuo's side, nervously grabbing his arm.

Guan Yingying, meanwhile, curiously examined the two uniformed inspectors and reached for a wall switch, maximizing the interior lighting.

Although two beauties had appeared, unfortunately, 9527 and 2046 were in no mood to appreciate them. Qi Fei was wearing a bathrobe, revealing a tantalizingly curved bosom beneath, while Guan Yingying wore a slip dress layered over cycling shorts, radiating youthful energy.

"Two imposters," Wang Zhuo scoffed, smiling disdainfully. "They can't even tell an RV from a coach. They haven't mastered their trade yet, and they're already out here shaking people down for money."

With a swift motion that took only the blink of an eye, he snatched the credentials from the breast pocket of 9527's jacket. As 9527 hastily stepped back, the documents were already gone.

"I bet these fake badges are full of holes," Wang Zhuo said, casually handing them to Qi Fei. He pointed at 9527, warning him, "Don't move. If you dare try to snatch it back, you won't be leaving my vehicle today."

The two female bodyguards rushed up onto the RV quickly, standing on either side of 9527 and 2046, glaring fiercely, clearly ready to act at any moment.

Sweat immediately beaded on 9527's forehead. Only then did he realize the identity of the four women outside: they were female bodyguards.

Qi Fei examined 9527's identification. "It's a Traffic Police badge, number 89757, not the number on his chest tag. The photo, however, matches."

"89757?" Guan Yingying burst out laughing. "Isn't that the Future Warrior from the year 3005? That's a JJ Lin album track."

"He just claimed to be from the Transport Administration, but his badge is Traffic Police," Wang Zhuo said, pointing at 9527’s uniform. "I could tell this outfit was fake at a glance."

"How should we deal with them?" Qi Fei asked.

"Turn them over to the authorities," Guan Yingying exclaimed, clenching her fist, furious that these men had spoiled her mood.

9527 finally cracked. He frantically waved his hands. "No, no, please, let's talk this over!"

If it had been an ordinary coach driver or owner who discovered them, he could have blustered his way out, as commercial vehicles had to operate on that route year-round and couldn't afford to offend local power players like them. But dealing with someone driving an RV and accompanied by female bodyguards, he dared not act recklessly. If these people truly pressed the issue, he would surely suffer the consequences.

Wang Zhuo sneered, about to speak, when his expression suddenly changed. He shouted down toward the ground, "Sister Li, stop that car in front!"

The female bodyguard addressed as 'Sister Li' responded instantly, moving with the agility of a sleek leopard, sprinting directly toward the highway enforcement vehicle that had just started moving.

In recent years, many high-end cars advertised zero-to-sixty acceleration in just a few seconds. Although these figures were often exaggerated, they did indicate that automotive technology was advancing, with ever-shorter transition times from a standstill to high speed.

However, even though vehicle performance had reached significant heights, human driving skill often lagged behind. Who, after all, practiced aggressive starts and acceleration in their daily routine?

The fake Toyota enforcement vehicle had just begun to move when Wang Zhuo spotted it. The female bodyguard was about fifteen meters away. For a highly trained bodyguard, such a short distance was covered in the blink of an eye.

Just as the Toyota gained speed, Li Mengling reached the vehicle. Seeing she couldn't stop the driver conventionally, she grabbed hold of the passenger-side window frame, leveraged her powerful arms, braced her feet against the ground, and suddenly propelled her body inward, half of her torso entering the car.

This sequence of movements flowed as smoothly as running water, a maneuver Wang Zhuo had seen replicated in numerous action films, but this was his first time witnessing the genuine article.

With her lower body inside the car, Li Mengling thrust her waist forward and retracted her arms, pulling her entire body into the cabin. The driver, intending to flee, saw her formidable skill, panicked, and slammed on the brakes, stopping the car within the emergency lane lines.

Wang Zhuo nodded repeatedly, thoroughly impressed by the display. He called down to another bodyguard. "Sister Liu, you go drive that enforcement car, and have Sister Li escort the men back here."

After locking the four imposters in the vault of the armored cash transport vehicle, the convoy resumed its journey. The fake highway enforcement car led the way, flashing its lights, ensuring smooth passage all the way.

"How did these fakes manage to get onto the expressway?" Guan Yingying asked, perplexed.

Wang Zhuo snorted. "The news exposed this a few years ago. Some villages right next to the highway specialize in this. The village chief organizes everyone; they can rake in millions in fines annually."
