Lin Luo had copied Mikoto’s power, yet he couldn't use it at all. It was like a small child suddenly inheriting a billion dollars but not knowing how to spend it; possessing it was the same as having nothing.
Of course, Lin Luo was fortunate that when he copied Mikoto's power, he also acquired the computational formulas required to utilize psychic abilities. The problem was that these formulas were incredibly complex; one shouldn't even dream of using them before achieving a GPA of 4.0. This explained why the Railgunner and Yuriko were Level 5, while the majority of the brainless masses were Level 0… Intelligence determined everything.
As for Lin Luo’s IQ? It wasn't particularly high, yet compared to the Railgunner, it was a bit low (this phrase sounded awfully familiar). However, his Contract Mode was exceptionally potent; upon entering this state, Lin Luo's intelligence abruptly increased by two points!
Never underestimate those two points of intelligence; the great minds have always said that success often hinges on a flash of inspiration!
Regardless of how, the moment Lin Luo began searching for those computational formulas in his consciousness, new knowledge materialized out of thin air, as if it were a natural progression. He swiftly regained complete control over his abilities.
Tzzt!
Opening his palm, a blue-white arc of electricity flickered between his fingers. Though significantly weaker than before, it felt as natural as his own hands and feet, something he could command freely.
"You can control it already?" Mikoto’s mouth hung open, her eyes wide with shock. Having studied none of the relevant knowledge, mastering her ability within minutes was simply incredible.
"I guess so. I don't really have a concrete concept for it; it just felt innate, like I succeeded after just a tiny bit of testing," Lin Luo fumbled for an explanation. He suspected the Book of Contracts played a part, but he couldn't explain that to Mikoto. Until her affection level for him reached 90, revealing anything about the book could lead to his abrupt END, long before any 'Good Boat Ending' was possible.
This is acceptable? Mikoto was speechless for a moment, but she didn't truly understand the concept of an Origin Stone either; she just accepted it as it was.
Seeing Mikoto didn't press the issue further, Lin Luo naturally didn't linger on the topic. He extended his right hand, electric light coiling around his fingers, and lightly tapped the man lying nearby.
Crack! The man on the ground was shocked awake.
Initially, he was clearly disoriented, but the moment he saw Lin Luo, he snapped fully alert. A murderous intent flared in his eyes, and he lunged towards Lin Luo, only to be abruptly subdued again as he realized his body was paralyzed, unable to move.
This was only natural. The Railgunner’s shock wasn't something easily shaken off; if recovery were that quick, the Railgun wouldn't be a big deal.
The man appeared to be in his thirties, with unremarkable features, save for a gruesome scar running across his face, nearly cleaving it in two. In normal circumstances, this visage would terrify anyone half to death, but currently, half-dead as he was, he was little more than a fish on a chopping block—a toothless stray cat, not worth mentioning.
"Speak up. Why did you infiltrate my home? Remember, I dislike lies, and the consequences for falsehoods are severe," Lin Luo smiled genially, letting sparks of electricity dance across his fingers as a clear threat. For some reason, he now deeply enjoyed that crackling sound, ranking it just below that heart-melting phrase, ‘Yamete.’
"I have nothing to say. Kill me if you want."
His voice was weak, but his attitude was fiercely resolute, commanding a degree of admiration… Lin Luo deeply detested this type of villainous archetype. If they wouldn't talk, how was the story supposed to progress? Was he trying to drag out the word count?
"Tch, tough talker," Lin Luo scoffed, turning away. He walked back into the house and emerged moments later, this time holding something—a steel pipe.
"Did you think I brought this thing to beat you?" Seeing the sneer on the scarred man's face, Lin Luo offered a friendly explanation. "Relax, I’m not that crude. Personally, I dislike violence too. So, I have a new game." As he spoke, Lin Luo flicked the pipe, easily stripping the man’s trousers off.
"Ah!" Before the scarred man could react, Mikoto let out a sharp cry of alarm. Stuttering, she pointed at Lin Luo, "You—you—what are you doing?"
"Ah, Railgunner, my apologies, I almost forgot you were here," Lin Luo turned back with a sheepish grin. "What I’m about to do might be too intense. If you don’t want to watch, I suggest you go back inside, pour yourself some tea, and calm your nerves."
"You, you…" Mikoto’s face burned crimson, too mortified to speak. This guy was utterly shameless, stripping another man in front of a girl. Was he truly only twelve? What kind of wiring was inside his head!
In that instant, Mikoto thought of her roommate, Shirai Kuroko, though she swore it was absolutely, positively not an affectionate thought!
"You… you pervert!" Mikoto fled back into the house as fast as she could.
"You heard her, my 'Onee-sama' called you a pervert," Lin Luo kindly informed the naked man on the ground. "If you don't want to genuinely become a pervert, you better start telling me everything you know, both the things you should and shouldn't say. Of course, if you enjoy the feeling of a bruised posterior, I wouldn't mind lending you a hand."
"You… you demon!" The scarred man stared at the steel pipe in Lin Luo's hand, which looked nearly half as thick as his arm, and his composure shattered. His face instantly turned ashen.
"Oh, thank you for the compliment."
"I warn you, if you dare touch me, you will not have a good end!" The scarred man growled threateningly.
"Threatening me? Let me tell you, right now, I fear nothing except the 'Good Boat Ending.' Do you even know who my big sister is? She’s the A Certain Scientific Railgun; even Earth has to show her some respect… never mind, you wouldn't know her anyway."
"You pervert, you're definitely going to hell!"
"Damn it, are we done yet! Just one word: are you talking or not?" Lin Luo pointed the end of the pipe towards a certain sensitive area.
The scarred man trembled violently. His backside? That was an outcome far more terrifying than death. Feeling the cold air on his rear, he hesitated for three agonizing seconds before speaking in absolute despair.
"I… I’ll talk."
