The readership for "KOF: Unbounded in Another World" is seeing a gradual decline in subscriptions, recommendations, and monthly tickets, which is partly due to Old Ya's sluggishness last month, though he accepts responsibility.
However, subscriptions are the lifeblood of a book, the key to an author’s motivation. I sincerely hope everyone can offer more support. The reason for last month's slump was the feeling that this book’s subscription numbers were already capped, leading me to focus energy on starting a new work... Mentally, I checked out, and my energy flagged. The writing became passionless, devoid of drive!
While Old Ya can tighten his belt and manage financially with less income, I still hope for greater support, as this is how I currently make a living. Basic monthly expenses for food, drink, and rent easily run into one or two thousand. Things here are incredibly expensive compared to the mainland—a pound of lotus root costs five yuan, potatoes are one yuan twenty, and even raw sweet potatoes are two yuan thirty a pound. My finances are strained to the extreme; I often skip a meal to save up for the next one.
Furthermore, everyone knows the weather here; it’s brutally cold, dipping below minus ten degrees Celsius. We had another snowfall the day before yesterday. This single-story house has no heating, and in the mornings, my hands are stiff. Every word you read here was typed out by these frozen hands. I wanted to rent an apartment with heating, but it costs over 600 a month—I can’t afford it. With fewer than 300 paid subscribers, I earn just one cent for every thousand words. You can calculate my monthly income... So, I have no choice.
Old Ya has poured significant effort into this KOF book since July. Reading a book is simple, but writing one is immensely difficult—that is the truth. If one says this book is popular only because the KOF theme is good, then there are easily over a hundred KOF-themed novels online. Of those that are published/paywalled, I’ve only found this one (there might be others I haven't seen). This illustrates how much effort Old Ya invests in the writing.
Haha, if you don't believe me, just recall: Old Ya’s book has incorporated nearly every significant element and move from the KOF universe, and he’s done so without making it feel overly forced. This effort speaks volumes about the struggle involved in writing it.
I know that posting a single update like this rarely boosts subscriptions, but I still wanted to speak out, and perhaps grab a monthly ticket while I’m at it. I implore friends who have coins in their accounts to grant me a subscription, please! A single chapter costs only six or nine cents. The more you subscribe, the more passion and fervor I can muster for writing. Thank you!! (To be continued, to find out what happens next, please log in to)
