Kam made up his mind, glancing one last time at the courtyard he had always called home before sighing and ushering the two men inside the house.

“This is my mother; her health is poor!” Kam pointed toward the old woman lying down.

Chen Feng could tell that Kam was a filial son, and his reluctance to leave stemmed largely from this elder. If he could cure her, it would secure the man’s loyalty all the more.

He approached, letting his spiritual perception sweep over the old woman. He found she was suffering merely from heart failure, coupled with a mental state of resignation—a burden she felt she placed upon Kam—which had brought her to this current condition.

If he possessed magic, a single high-level restoration spell of the Light element would instantly restore her to perfect health, no matter how severe the illness. But he didn't know Light magic, and he certainly wasn't a doctor.

However... she was severely weak, and he happened to have numerous rare medicinal herbs on hand, most of which were tonics. Perhaps giving these to her would yield excellent results.

With that thought, he took out two Nanming Snow Pears from his water flask, along with more than a dozen other rare herbs, and handed them to Kam.

“These are some medicinal herbs. Please administer them to the elder; they might offer some aid!”

Kam accepted the items from Chen Feng with confusion. As soon as he glanced at them, his body began to tremble violently. Though he didn't recognize any of the herbs, the spiritual energy emanating from them was unmistakable: these were not ordinary things; almost all of them were of Saint Herb grade!

It was rumored that plants of the Saint Herb grade only existed in ancient times, over ten thousand years ago, when the spiritual energy of the world was far more abundant than it is now. Legend claimed that if these herbs were merely prepared with meditative focus into pills, they could even have the curative effect of bringing the dead back to life and healing white bones!

Even the Eight Great Authorities would never casually give away such rare treasures!

Kam’s eyes reddened. With a thud, he immediately knelt before Chen Feng and, without hesitation, bowed his head three times with resonant thumps.

“What are you doing?” Chen Feng was startled.

“Thank you…” Kam wept with joy, “Mother can be saved…”

Chen Feng had no idea that the herbs he treated as mere tokens, when combined with the meditative focus of the Ming Zun, could produce such potent medicinal effects. Naturally, he failed to grasp the reason for the man’s elation.

……………………………………………………

After refining these herbs into spiritual medicine, the effect was indeed astonishing. In less than half a day, his mother was able to get out of bed and walk. Kam then spent the afternoon arranging everything at home.

Subsequently, Chen Feng gave him two thousand Perfect Crystals from his own stock and instructed him to gather individuals at the Ming Zun level, adhering to the previously agreed-upon compensation rates.

When Kam saw his boss casually produce two thousand Perfect Crystals, he nearly fainted again. He was a man who had seen the world, and the more one saw, the more one understood the preciousness of such items. His boss offered so many with a sheepish expression: “I need to sell some for cash, and I’m currently short on these crystals, so... I can only give you 2000 for now...”

Hearing this, Kam nearly choked. To offer 2000 Perfect Crystals and deem it too little—did others even have a chance to live?

Despite his internal murmurs, Kam’s organizational skills were undeniable. In a single day, he managed to gather one hundred individuals at the Golden Armored Warrior cultivation level, including over twenty at the Ming Zun level! These Golden Armored Warriors and Ming Zuns were mostly his former subordinates and those of White’s. He recruited many personnel without spending much money, fully showcasing his influence.

A day later, after these experts had sorted out their personal affairs, they all arrived.

With more people, Kam’s small courtyard could no longer accommodate them. Thus, White spent a sum of money to purchase a manor spanning over forty acres—a sizable residence that easily housed everyone comfortably.

Seeing the growing number of his former subordinates, the excitement on White’s face intensified. Training commenced vigorously after only one day.

Chen Feng, seeing that the two men were occupied, relaxed into the role of a hands-off manager. Unsure of what to do next, a thought struck him. With a flick of his wrist, a golden card appeared in his palm—the membership card for the Parson Auction House.

The gold card shimmered with a faint glow, and slowly, a line of text emerged: “The auction will commence at 8 PM this evening, and Perfect Crystals will be among the items auctioned!”

So this gold card actually possessed the function of transmitting information.

“Didn’t the Parson Auction House want those Perfect Crystals for themselves? Why are they auctioning them now?” Chen Feng mused, guessing, “They must be facing a liquidity crunch and were forced into this auction!”

Checking the time, he found he had two hours remaining. Chen Feng smiled faintly, the idea of going to observe the spectacle taking root. Firstly, he wanted to see how much Perfect Crystals would fetch at auction. Secondly, he wanted to check if there were any suitable items he could purchase for himself.

Returning to his room, he circulated his Domain power, turning his hair a pale, ashen white, and donned the Priest Robe once more. In an instant, he transformed into an appearance reminiscent of the storm-breathing Goenitz.

He reviewed Goenitz’s techniques in his mind: Shin Kyo-nana-yatsu and Shin Kyo-nana-yatsu (the True Orochi combo techniques) had already been mastered. Converting the fire element of his Domain power to wind element was entirely feasible.

“If some blind fool tests me, they can experience the power of Shin Kyo-nana-yatsu; I haven’t really used that move much since I learned it,” Chen Feng thought quietly.

Currently, his strongest single attack was the Shin Kyo-nana-yatsu. While the Black Particle strike was potent for ambushes, it was somewhat elusive; the Mugen technique had only succeeded once and hadn’t been repeated since.

However, in a one-on-one fight, his most formidable offensive measure remained the 【Super Combo Chain】. Even a Ming Saint, if caught with his Domain open and subjected to the 【Super Combo Chain】, would likely face certain death!

Techniques like the Eight Sake Cups or Orochi’s Sun Exposure were alluring, but his current cultivation was too low; he lacked even the Ultimate Power, making those moves out of the question for now. He would need to reach the Saint Realm at least before attempting them.

After informing White of his intention to go out, Chen Feng headed alone toward the Parson Auction House.

Wearing the Priest Robe indeed had its advantages; everywhere he went, he was met with respect.

He arrived at the auction hall just before eight o’clock. After paying a certain entrance fee, he took a seat in the general admission area. If he used his membership card to access the Golden Section, his current disguise would become a joke.

Perhaps because Perfect Crystals were being auctioned today, the massive hall, capable of holding ten thousand people, was completely full—a sea of humanity. The hall was illuminated by some unknown light source, making the entire space as bright as daylight.

Chen Feng had barely settled when his shoulder tightened; a hand had clapped down upon it.

“Brother, have you heard? They’re auctioning Perfect Crystals today…” a portly man with a perpetual smile said genially.

Chen Feng smiled slightly and nodded.

“This is the first time I’ve ever heard of someone being willing to auction these things. It’s quite strange…” the fat man rambled on beside him.

Chen Feng glanced around; indeed, everyone seemed stunned by the news of the Perfect Crystal auction, indicating great excitement over the event.

“Quiet down…”

An elderly man stepped onto the central auction platform—it was Abelard, the chief auctioneer of the Parson Auction House. With his call, the hall of over ten thousand people instantly hushed, everyone awaiting the start of the auction.

Abelard announced loudly, “Today, twelve items will be auctioned, each incredibly precious. Now, let us present the first item!”

Following his words, two young women carefully carried forward a tray upon which rested ten arrows.

“These are Thunderclap Arrows, essential gear for any archer. When loosed, they create a tremendous explosion. If struck directly, even a formidable Ming Saint might suffer irreparable damage! Furthermore, they require no divine bows or exquisite weaponry; any ordinary archer with a common longbow can use them! The starting bid is one crystal per arrow!”

“Showy and impractical junk!” the fat man beside Chen Feng sneered upon seeing the arrows.

Chen Feng asked curiously, “Why impractical?” If these arrows could wound a Ming Saint, they seemed powerful enough.

“As the name suggests, the Thunderclap Arrow produces a sound like thunder upon release. Arrows are ranged attacks; with such noise, even a deaf man would surely have noticed and fled by the time it’s loosed. Who would stand still waiting to be hit? That they can wound a Ming Saint is purely theoretical; I’ve never heard of a Ming Saint being injured by these arrows in reality!” the fat man finished, shaking his head.

“‘Wounding someone through stealth’—only a hidden attack works,” Chen Feng conceded. A cultivator at the Ming Zun or Ming Saint level possessed fast reflexes; using arrows that announced their presence with a loud bang was indeed futile for surprise attacks.

“But what about using them during a group assault? If dozens of people surrounded and attacked a Ming Saint simultaneously, couldn't they wound him then?” Chen Feng inquired.

“Dozens attacking one Ming Saint? Who is mad enough to use arrows worth only one crystal each for such a siege? Think of the cost to kill a single Ming Saint that way!” The fat man’s eyes widened.

Indeed, using arrows priced at one crystal each for a siege would cost a fortune, potentially millions for one encounter.

“These arrows gain their power because Ming Saint level experts dive deep underground to seal the subterranean lava within the arrowhead. Where else would such power come from? Who can easily access subterranean lava? That’s why they are so expensive to produce, and even the wealthy hesitate to use them!”

Sealing subterranean lava inside an arrow was difficult, certainly, but... Chen Feng currently lacked nothing more than subterranean lava!

“Buy these few arrows. When I get back, I’ll have White and the others examine them. Perhaps we can use that lava to manufacture a great many more,” Chen Feng thought to himself. (To be continued.
