"Little Tiger, that's Little Tiger's voice!" Chen Feng struggled to contain the surging excitement, feeling as if he were dreaming.
Back on the ice rink, Little Tiger had been impaled by a bloodthirsty magic sword while saving him—it had died right there. The subsequent great war was fought precisely to resurrect the creature. Little Tiger was Chen Feng's best brother in this world, even though it was merely a magical beast. During those days in the valley, the man and the tiger were "mutually dependent," enduring the most difficult half-year after his transmigration to this foreign realm together. Now, hearing its voice after its supposed death was an overwhelming emotional experience.
"Yes, Boss, I was saved by people from the Dragon Clan!" Little Tiger's voice echoed in his mind.
"Where are you now?" Chen Feng quickly asked.
Chen Feng and Little Tiger shared a Soul Blood Pact. They could communicate via soul link even if they were thousands of miles apart. Therefore, even though Chen Feng "heard" Little Tiger's voice now, he couldn't be sure how far away it was.
"I'm at Dragon's Diagram Mountain. I can sense your presence, so I reached out to you!" Little Tiger's voice sounded in his mind.
"I'm at Tianfeng Academy. I'll come find you right away!" Upon hearing Little Tiger was at Dragon's Diagram Mountain, Chen Feng could no longer restrain his anxiety and was about to fly out to find him.
"Tianfeng Academy?" Little Tiger's voice responded, followed by, "No need. We'll come find you!"
"You guys?" Chen Feng blinked. "Who else is there?"
"You'll know when you see them. I'm not telling you now, hehe!" Little Tiger's playful nature surfaced.
Chen Feng let out a sound, feeling the approach of Little Tiger, his excited face flushing deep red.
"Little Tiger…" he softly called out, his memory immersing him in the time spent with his companion.
He was not an indifferent or heartless person; he simply kept his emotions deeply buried in his heart, not showing them easily.
Once he knew Little Tiger was alive, Chen Feng completely disregarded the matter of Tianfeng Academy, focusing only on meeting it as soon as possible. Just as he was about to leave the academy, several people blocked his path ahead: "Kid, I hear you’re quite insolent?"
Chen Feng saw seven or eight people, all wearing martial attire, their cultivation levels hovering around the Seventh or Eighth Rank Fighter.
"We heard you dared to touch Delic's woman. Do you not want to live anymore?" the foremost person stated.
Chen Feng frowned. His excellent mood had been ruined by these few, but simultaneously, he was puzzled. He had knocked Delic unconscious with a single punch and forced him to crawl out from under a table. Many people witnessed that event; even if these fellows had issues with their brains, they should understand he wasn't easy to provoke. Why did they appear so fearless?
"Don't give me that look. I’m here to deliver a challenge letter. This isn't from that useless Delic, but from our Boss, Evan!" The leading Fighter took out a challenge letter.
Evan was the champion of the academy's annual competition and had already reached the level of a Fifth Rank Battle Master.
Chen Feng didn't look at the challenge letter. Seeing the other party's arrogant demeanor, a slight anger brewed in his heart. He took a step forward, his knee driving directly into the Fighter's lower abdomen. With a thump, the man immediately hunched over like a shrimp in pain. Chen Feng brought his elbow down onto the man's back, and he collapsed to the ground, convulsing.
The remaining few were stunned that Chen Feng had acted without saying a word, freezing in place.
"I don't care about your Evan or whoever. I don't have time!" With that, Chen Feng kicked the first Fighter, sending him flying backward into the others.
"Insolence!" a voice sounded from behind the group of students. A middle-aged teacher strode over.
Seeing this scene, Chen Feng instantly understood why these fellows were so brazen, even knowing he could defeat Delic: they had the teacher following them, ensuring that if he made a move, he would violate school rules.
It was much like the university he attended in his past life: cursing wasn't illegal and one could do it freely, but the moment one resorted to violence, the nature of the offense changed entirely, inevitably leading to school disciplinary action (Note).
"Which faculty? Which class?" The middle-aged teacher had a commanding presence and a stern look.
"Director Liu Yudong… look, he hit us! We good students just stood here without moving!" the remaining students immediately wailed.
Hearing their cries, Chen Feng naturally knew that this stern, imposing teacher was the Director of Student Affairs—Liu Yudong, an expert at the First Rank Dou Zun level. When Jacob had mentioned the Dou Zun level experts in the school, he had mentioned this man.
"Do you know the punishment for arbitrarily assaulting fellow students within the academy?" Director Liu Yudong spoke righteously, his anger mounting.
A faint curve appeared on Chen Feng's lips. He knew this little trick. This teacher had clearly colluded with these men to entrap him and slap a serious charge on him. If he didn't resist, he would certainly be taken to the Student Affairs office for interrogation, which would immediately expose his true identity. If he resisted, he would face a First Rank Dou Zun expert. The person who devised this plan must have racked their brains.
Knowing his identity and devising this scheme could only be Jacob; Chen Feng immediately knew who was behind this trouble.
"I don't know," Chen Feng stated calmly.
Director Liu Yudong, seeing Chen Feng's utter lack of fear, grew even more enraged, his expression becoming stern: "A student like you should have been expelled long ago! Which faculty? Which class? Have their teachers come see me!"
The surrounding students, seeing their scheme succeeding, stood to the side chuckling slyly.
"Director Liu Yudong, this student seems very arrogant, ignoring you. Isn't expulsion too lenient?" one Fighter muttered insidiously from the side.
"Exactly. A student who utterly disregards school rules—even if his legs were broken and he was thrown out, no one on the entire continent could say a word!" another Fighter stoked the flames.
"Breaking his legs is too light. Isn't the academy's harshest penalty abolishing cultivation and exiling him to Tagu Mountain? I think he deserves that punishment!" a Fighter added fuel to the fire.
Hearing these words, Liu Yudong's face turned ashen with even greater anger. He stared at Chen Feng and said, "Come with me to the Student Affairs office!"
Chen Feng didn't move. He suddenly asked, "Is assaulting someone inside the academy subject to punishment?"
Everyone present paused at his question. Liu Yudong thought he had seen reason and understood his transgression, so he replied, "Naturally. This refers to non-sanctioned duels. If you assault someone casually, which is your current situation. If you admit your mistake with a good attitude, the penalty might be lighter."
Chen Feng nodded to show understanding and said lightly, "Since assaulting one person requires punishment, assaulting several more shouldn't matter, right!"
As soon as he finished speaking, his body moved with the swiftness of a civet cat, darting into the crowd. Liu Yudong hadn't even processed the meaning of his words before he heard successive cries of pain from behind him. When he turned around, the students who had delivered the challenge letter were all lying on the ground, faces bloody.
"You… you dare to be so audacious!" Liu Yudong trembled with rage. He never expected a student to be so presumptuous right in front of him, daring to strike even after he had finished speaking. In his fury, his Battle Qi surged around him, and a powerful aura immediately rose.
Chen Feng looked at his expression and knew the other party was enraged. He said calmly, "Since assaulting one is the same as assaulting two, why not beat a few more?"
Liu Yudong was slightly astonished that Chen Feng was completely unaffected by his aura. He said, "Intentionally assaulting fellow academy members adds another charge!"
Chen Feng ignored him, stamped his feet forcefully on the ground, and shot outwards like a hunting hawk. The speed he used was only the maximum speed achievable by a Ninth Rank Fighter, so it wasn't conspicuous.
Liu Yudong glanced at him and chuckled, "So, he's a Ninth Rank Fighter. I didn't expect such a genius student to emerge among the pupils!" Saying this, he chased after him.
Liu Yudong had been slightly suspicious earlier, but even if he were clever, he wouldn't have imagined that the young man who caused chaos in the academy would dare remain. Therefore, he didn't realize that this dark-complexioned, white-haired youth before him was the very person the entire academy was searching for.
Seeing him catch up, Chen Feng smiled faintly and walked to a deserted spot, stopping. He wasn't planning on murder. If he killed the Director of Student Affairs now, it would clearly alert the entire academy to his presence.
Seeing Chen Feng stop, Liu Yudong said, "I have witnessed your assault on the students. Running is impossible. If you agree to become my personal student, I can consider dropping the matter!"
Experts at the Dou Zun level in the academy would individually mentor advanced students. Thus, competition existed even among teachers; the excellent students they taught and their high cultivation levels were all capital for showing off. Therefore, every time new disciples were recruited, it was a time for these Dou Zun level teachers to vie for high-aptitude students.
Liu Yudong saw that Chen Feng had reached the Ninth Rank Fighter realm at such a young age and was certain he possessed exceptional talent, which was why he made this request.
Chen Feng felt a wry smile building inside him at this offer. Staring at the Director, he said calmly, "Fine, I promise you!" A ball of purple flame suddenly emerged from his fingertip, and his Domain instantly opened completely!
Note: Regarding the Director of Student Affairs, Old Ya relates a true story from personal experience. When Old Ya was in college, someone jumped the queue to get food at the cafeteria. Old Ya's best friend stood up to stop them, resulting in the three queue-jumpers trying to beat him up, dragging him outside. Just as they were about to strike, the Dean of Student Affairs, Liu Yudong, witnessed the scene and falsely accused his friend of gang fighting, leading to his expulsion… while those three people faced no issues, not even a reprimand! Alas, lamentable! Unable to vent this in reality, he had to express it through writing here...
